"First Steps" Introductory Adventures Retired?

GM Discussion

Grand Lodge

The file names for parts 2 & 3 of the free introductory PFS scenarios, "First Step", are as follows:
- PathfinderSocietyScenarioIntro2FirstStepsPartIIToDelveTheDungeonDeepPFRPGPD FRetired
- PathfinderSocietyScenarioIntro3FirstStepsPartIIIAVisionOfBetrayalPFRPGPDFRe tired

Have these scenarios been retired from active play?

4/5 ****

Yes.

Sad to say, too. The second part, To Delve the Dungeon Deep, is/was - despite a few flaws - one of my favorite scenarios. (Possibly because it was the first I played and then the first I GMed!)

I never got to play or GM the third one, although most people seemed to give that one lesser reviews. Maybe I'll get to run it or play it sometime 'just for fun', outside of official PFS.

Thanks for the heads up, was almost planning on running those.

Me too, and I agree it's a shame. Presumably, it has something to do with there introducing factions that have themselves been retired.

Shadow Lodge 3/5

I quite liked First Steps 2 as well, solely because it felt like a good dungeon running test for your character at that level.

The Confirmation is a good replacement, though.

But you can still log them in as sessions. Do the players not get credit for them?

Sovereign Court 4/5

They no longer offer PFS credit if they are run. No exp, no chronicle, no record of being played. They are now for entertainment value only.

So why then are they still able to be chosen in GM reporting section? (No others are) When chosen, they look exactly the same as other scenarios.

Sovereign Court 4/5

If I had to guess, to allow the games from sessions run before the retire date to be reported before they are taken off. (It happens. A game I played in wasn't reported from before Gen Con until just recently.) Again, if I had to guess. Someone from Paizo would be better equipped to answer that.

Liberty's Edge 5/5 5/5 *** Venture-Lieutenant, Indiana—Martinsville

Online play by post retire them later on, that is why.

Number one is gonna be retired at some point, I expected the Confirmation to replace it but it seems that something else is supposed to instead.

Silver Crusade 5/5

and here I thought it was safe to turn the Home over to hired help and start my life as an adventurer! You mean I need to go back to dealing with all those PF Cadets dropping in and disturbing the children?
I actually thought FS #1 had been retired... guess I can run it a few more times then! It's to late to run Auntie meets Auntie though... mine is 2nd level already....
