Trait that allows for use of eastern weapon

Silver Crusade

Does anyone know the name of the trait that allows for the use of one eastern exotic weapon as a non-exotic weapon?

Sovereign Court

Before the Lantern Lodge went away, there was a PFS trait from that faction that gave proficiency in one monk weapon. Apart from that, though, there's nothing.

The way you present it, the trait grants weapon familiarity. I don't know of a trait like that.

There's Heirloom Weapon that would do the trick.

Could it be the Tengu alternate racial trait that swaps Swordtrained for a number of eastern weapons equal to 3+Int?

The heirloom weapon trait post errata only works for martial weapons unfortunately. Fine print. Sucks too, exotic weapon prof is ludicrously overpriced.

It depends on the weapon. For a fighting fan? Oh god, yes. For an elven curve blade? Eeeehhh... A feat sounds pretty reasonable.

Not really... Elven Curve Blade is actually pretty weak. Finesse being a weak choice, nodachi being a martial weapon with the same damage and crit range. Congratz! You took 2 feats to make yourself weaker?

Why did the Lantern Lodge get the boot?

Classified information! Much like any decision in PFS.

More seriously, they decided to let two go. Shadow Lodge and Lantern Lodge got the boot. Not keen on the details myself. Also means their boons are lost forever, except those that are grandfathered in.

Could you be confusing the Tengu alternate RACIAL trait "Exotic Weapon Training" for a regular trait?

Otherwise, the aforementioned PFS Lantern Lodge trait Weapon Style (you are proficient with one monk weapon of your choice) is the only one I can think of. It's organization specific and that organization was retired. If a home game, maybe you can get your GM to let you take the trait?

There are some traits that reduce non-proficiency to a -2 penalty (from -4), but I'm guessing that won't work for you.

hum... speaking of the tengu bit.

I think humans havea racial trait thing that lets them pick up weapon prof of a set of family races or something?

It's a trap. You trade your human bonus feat for it. It basically only works if you want more than one exotic weapon from the same racial group or if you need EWP at first level and don't have BAB.
