Terminator 2, of course.

Different sources, one is from a play that had a movie adaptation and the other is from a book with a movie adaptation(though I do not know if it is in the book).

The Princess Bride - Specifically Westley to the P.B., I believe not long before they enter the Fire Swamp.

Dang it, I know this one, but I can't pull the title out of my head. It sounds like something Data from ST:NG would say, but he wasn't nearly that floaty, or whatever the word is.

That's from Star Trek: Insurrection.

Magic is the bloodstream of the universe. Forget all you know, or think you know. All that you require is your intuition.

Buoyant! That's the word I was looking for! When I first saw the quote, I only remembered the scene where he was walking across the bottom of the lake. I suppose he has control over his own buoyancy, after all.

Black Dougal, which version of Dune is that quote from?

I've got one for everyone:

IA: Why are you always so suspicious?
SH: Should I answer chronologically or alphabetically?

its from the 1984 movie, I can't recall if its the theatrical version or directors cut

I know this one by heart: Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (if I'm remembering the title correctly)

The 13th Warrior. I love that scene.

"I feel the need, the need for speed!"

this will be one of the easiest I have ever put forward, but what the hell:

Independance Day. Hope the planned sequel is up to par. Earth's in pretty rough shape after the first go 'round.

Miller: Go on.

D.J.: I thought it said "liberate me" - "save me." But it's not "me." It's "liberate tutame" - "save yourself." And it gets worse.

[Plays the distress signal again]

The implications that they don't spell out are part of the horror. The survivors seemingly embracing what has happened to them ... eeeewwww.

You are correct, Sir! At least on the quote. I consider it one of the more fun action movies I've ever seen. :)

It's not BAD. I like the movie, just not the implication that this guy had all this stuff done to him without his full consent, and that his NAME was picked essentially at random.

I saw it as a bad rehash of Alien. I didn't like it too much.

If you're comparing it to Alien, I see it more as the difference between body horror and psychological horror. Even with a chest-burster inside of you, wouldn't stop being yourself (shudder)...

I wanna say Inglorious Basterds ... but something is tickling my brain saying that it isn't. Grrr.

I want to say Unforgiven, because that sounds like something that Little Bill would have said.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I've always taken Event Horizon as what would happen in Warhammer 40k if Humans tried star travel without the psychic protection of their Dead But Not Quite Dead Emperor.
