You started to make a post a while ago, but didn't submit, didn't you? I've edited. One more good hit should knock him out though.
Unless I'm missing something or reading it wrong.
It's hard to provide detail when typing on my cell phone. Sorry for the confusion. Yeah...the wererat is not the sharpest knife in the drawer...he knocked himself out with that headbutt. >.<
Michael Dacamara |
That's okay. Makes the comment I wanted to make about his parents being lab mice less effective now that I know that...
Michael almost feels like he's walking on clouds. He actually won an actual fight! Even though he didn't know it, that wererat had actually helped Michael with that headbutt! Things were going pretty good right now, all things considered...
Walking through the halls, Michael realized word of the fight had spread like wildfire, and people were looking at him an wondering why he was smiling so broadly, what with a large bruise forming on his jaw and a split lip. He didn't care. In fact, let them wonder! They'd talk about it and it was only a matter of time before before the others bullies heard about his new found confidence and try to crush it.
That's when he remembered that the words weren't working. He smiled, then went to find Mrs. Sunwake and ask if he could use the Gym when it was empty.
That was where he would make his next move.

She raised an eyebrow at the unusual request.
"Alright, on two conditions. First, you go to the infirmary and get those wounds tended two. And second, you go talk to your counselor and get yourself transferred into the advanced PE class. If you're going to get into fights, you need to train. If you don't know what you're doing it's more likely that someone is going to get hurt. You might be better off with a private practice room rather than the gym though. We have a couple set up right now."
She sighed. "And it would seem that I need to go and talk to the Headmaster about the wards failing again."

The narrow corridors wound throughout the pyramid with many intersections. Without a careful map it would be easy to get lost. Every few feet they had to step over more sleeping acolytes.
When they got to the center of the pyramid the corridors became wider. They picked their way carefully through as they got closer and closer to the room where the artifact was stored. At least they were able to make their way to the hallway outside the room.Everybody make a reflex save.

"Thank you, Mrs. Sunwake. I will." Michael agrees perhaps a bit to quickly, and Aananda gets the strangest feeling there is something different about Michael. He starts to leave for the infirmary, but stops at the door and looks back at Aananada. "I'd like a big room, if that is possible."
He walks out the door, almost running as he goes about follow Mrs. Sunwake's conditions. What were they, compared to what he had just gained? He got his injuries patched up, switched into a class he'd never would have evne considered before, and then sent messages to the three bullies who hadn't been as bad as the others. He dared to meet him in one of the private training rooms.
It was time to show that he was different, but not because he had no abilities.
I would have posted sooner, but I got caught up in my latest work.
narrator |
Nice job on the latest work. :)
Now if I could just get my latest work to scan. It's been sitting on my easel for a week. :(
Sadie, the captain of the fencing team, walked into the practice room, followed by Zren and Rikken the half-ogre brothers not really known for their good people skills.
"What's going on Dacamara?" Sadie said, sounding bored. "Don't you have enough trouble in your life already without asking for more?"

"You know, Sadie, you and your goons there have been the nicest of the people here who have decided I'm a punching bag. That, combined with the bit of gentlemanly manners that says a lady goes first, means you get to be the first I take down. Most people might consider you second, but that wererat doesn't count since he knocked himself out."
"So how does it feel?" He asks. "How does it feel to know you're at the bottom of my list?"

"Like I care what you think, Dacamara," she said dismissively. "It's not like I've been out to get you. Sorry if Zren and Rikken were bothering you. They still haven't got it through their thick skulls that you can talk with your mouth not just the fists. I just don't think a normal like you belongs here. It's insulting. Whatever. We're leaving now."
Michael Dacamara |
"That's just it though, I'm not a normal. I am a telepath." He says as a piece of the wall extends outward and slams the door closed. "But I'm different."
His eyes glow as parts of the floor rise up and revolve around him.
"It's time for someone to do something about the bullies in this school, time for the jerks to get what's coming to them. The clock starts.. now!." He yells, and with a gesture sends a rock flying at each of the half-ogres.
narrator |
"Then don't say I never did anything nice for you..." Michael mutters as he sends more rock flying at the trio, slowly at first and one at a time, but he speeds up every second...
Zren and Rikken stood to either side of Sadie shielding her from the rocks. They were still punching away most of them, but they were getting hit a few times too.
"He plays rough. Like bad uncle. This game is getting less fun," Rikken complained.[/i]
Sadie gritted her teeth and started gathering in energy.

"Ow!" she yelped as she got hit with a dart that flew out of the wall. She looked around. It seemed like the rest of the group had dodged out of the way.
"This was poisoned. I'm okay, it's not dragonbane so it's no big, but be careful. Obviously they set a few traps to protect the item."
Asch Redgrave |
Asch Redgrave wrote:It would certainly be interesting... (:<1d20 + 21
This is Hmmm I wonder if Asch is on the list. He isn't the biggest bully but he isn't nice either.
Well if he is if he tries anything as soon as Asch gets back or right after saving Amada I feel bad for the kid…unless he is much stronger than so far…oh the suspense.

Michael actually stops his assault when he sees this, bring the rocks back and making them swarm protectively around him. His smile is far from comforting as he raises the floor to keep the door closed.
"Do it, Sadie. I dare you."

"F#~@ you, Dacamara!" she shouted. "Just because I called you names a few times, you wanna turn this into something lethal?! Well, forget it! I'm not wasting the energy by attacking you. But good luck getting your rocks through this shield," she added defiantly, the air around her and the half-ogres shimmering as she put up a strong forcefield around them.
Vakkler Relkav |
Vakkler comes across the unconscious wererat, led by a concerned student. His eyes narrow. He puts away the crossbow and picks up by the wererat by the whiskers.
He drags the lycanthrope to the infirmary and drops him in the doorway. "This thing picked a fight," he growls. "I suggest you make use of that medicine you're learned so much about. I'm going to find the other.
"When this one wakes up, tell him he has slurk duty. Fighting in the hallway isn't tolerated."

"You think this is just about getting called names?!" A rock slams against Sadie's shield and cracks from the impact before it slides off. "This is about everyone who's bullied me, everyone who has every treated my like trash because I was 'a normal' in this school!" With every word, another rock strikes Sadie's shield and slides off. They're starting to pile up and make a different shield.
"You're not going to die, Sadie, not because of me. You don't deserve that. But when you run out of power and those rocks fall, you will get hurt. Know that that pain can't even compare to what I've felt for the past two years." He says before the last rock falls into place. He calmly puts most of the room back together before he steps through the walls and goes back to his room.
He flopped down on his bed and felt the adrenaline rush taper off, leaving him tired. He didn't give in though, he had a lot to do.
And now he had a shield.

Not sure what spellcraft is gonna tell you. You got hit with a dart from a mechanical trap that was coated in non-magical poison. Potent stuff, but not a spell effect. :)
Neutralize poison and restoration will sure the problem.
And no, there not any magic out here in the hallway. Apparently they want to try more old-fashioned methods of killing intruders first.

Yes, the darts were really small, but Ephebe pointed them out when she pulled one out of her arm and said they were poisoned. Sorry I didn't describe it well enough. I'll try to put in more description.
The poison is easily cleansed from his body.

"Better?"

Mind stating the effect next time, Solivala has a number of immunities. Poison being one of them.
And I will keep that in mind if he should happen to get hit in the future. This time he made the Reflex save by a whole lot so it really wasn't relevant. Again, sorry, I sort of expected Ephebe's explanation of the poison dart trap to be sufficient. Obviously it wasn't. As I said, I'll try to give better description.

Michael has only been on his bed for about a minute when he hears a knock at the door.
"Dacamara!" Mr. Relkav snaps. "A little worm told me you've been fighting!"
"And?" Michael says as he opens the door and leans wearily in it's frame. "It's not like I started it."

He's bluffing.
"Either way, you knocked him unconscious. That isn't tolerated. So slurk duty. Tomorrow night. Your friend will be there, along with a few other miscreants. Give you two a real chance to bond."
The small professor turns and leaves.

"Wait, Professor! Wait!" The pretty tiefling girl who screamed before runs up, slightly out of breath. "Please, I've been trying to find you. Please don't punish Michael. He didn't start the fight. "I've only introduced myself to you five times already this year."
"Oh, sorry!" Michael says as his face grows red from embarrassment. "A lot has happened today and I guess I forgot." He sighs. "That is a pretty lame excuse too, sorry. Thanks for your help with Relkav."
"Hey, how did you know I switched classes?"

Kitty blushed and giggled nervously. "No, it's okay, I didn't mean to say that out loud. My special power is stealth, but I don't really have a handle on it yet and it keeps going off when it's not supposed to. People are always forgetting me. And I know about the class switch because I went to the office earlier to try and tell them what happened, but I couldn't make them hear me and I heard someone mention it. Heh. I'm really embarrassed right now, but I guess it's okay, cause you probably won't remember any of this tomorrow." ^.^
