Smell that? You smell that? Brimstone, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of brimstone in the morning. Smells like . . . victory.

You don't need to know any spells, but by God, you'd better be an orc!

I love puns. Really, I do. Ask anyone. I'm not so happy when they show up in a supposed RPG Superstar item.
two new items... both of them ice related.

I think it is enough voting for now...

Well I am up to 39 items in my possible folder, with 6 strong keeps.
Lots of repetition at this point however.

Hi. I don't do anything.
Unless you FEED ME, SEYMOUR!
alliterative art supplies vs. poorly conjugated verbs
Echh. Made me vote for retraining item.
Shadow cloak vs Shadow cloak - fight! What are the odds?
An item that changes a valuable object cosmetically but not in any useful way versus an item that makes the GM have to come up with a bunch of new material on the fly.

The gardening- and undead-themed items make me wonder why no one has created a magic item that grows a plant effective against undead.

I swear by all that is good and holy, I will never, EVER include a +5 or +10 skill bonus in any future Superstar submission.
In my defense, I do read them before downvoting them. Sometimes I might have problems with finishing the reading but I do try...

Rincewind heartily approves of your item.
(No, I'm not saying someone ripped off Discworld. I'm saying that the theme of the item would be something Discworld's worst wizzard would enjoy.)

10 Things that are beginning to bug me:
1.) Items that save you from or let you act after death.
2.) Alliteration
3.) "Gross" items
4.) No formatting, not just a missed comma or small detail, but no attempt at formatting whatsoever.
5.) Items made solely to invalidate restrictions in the game.
6.) Mundane/camping/non-adventuring items
7.) "Let's make wizards stronger" items.
8.) Personally named items for unknown NPC's
9.) Useless items
10.) Incomprehensible items. (i.e. What the heck does this do?)

two poorly executed canned spells face off... which will emerge on top?
Man, I'd need to read the instruction booklet every time I tried to use this item, and have to wade through the Elvish, Dwarvish, Gnomish, Infernal, Celestial, and Aklo versions to get to Common.
By that time, I'd be monster lunch.
Shakespeare? Interesting...the price is dodgy, but I like the cut of your jib!

There's a memory modification theme this year, isn't there?
Huh. And suddenly, just like that, I have a pairing of items from the first two pairings I voted on when I started. The nostalgia isn't what I'd hoped it would be.
One item is the first item I voted against, the other is the second.

What self-respecting dwarf would destroy his (or her) beard to use a magic item?

I suspect that I know to which item you refer... If its what I think it is, there was appropriate scene in certain Oscar-winning movie just a few minutes ago on TV.

Don't worry; beards only take a month to grow.
