I claimed one of the houses as Serila's, and placed a star on it on the map to mark it. It seemed to make sense Serila has a house, because she lives in Falchon's Hollow.

If there were other plans involving that particular building I can of course move her house elsewhere :)

Hello everyone!

I just have received an email about 30 minutes ago I was chosen. Yay! Hello and I have made my first post as well as moved my icon.

I use Chrome so I hope I don't have problems some of you reported. I moved it and double clicked the icon to save it, then linked the url. I hope that's how it works, I wasn't entirely sure. Ohhh, you have to hit the enter button to get a new page. Figured it out.

I see some folks have homes here. Well, as a Druid wandering the forest it probably isn't likely for me to have a home. I wander around in the woods and make camp near the town. Not opposed to staying at someone's house for the evening, but I'll sleep on the floor Crocodile Dundee style.

Lastly, I just put the link to the unchanged map on my post because it probably is just easier for folks to click on the last post than scrolling through posts trying to find the last one.

Okay...so I just reviewed everyone's character sheets now that I am in the campaign and I noticed that almost all of us have the paranoid drawback. We might have a hard time trusting each other enough to adventure together given how messed up we all are. ;)

Seriously, though, DM Giants, I am thinking it might be best if I dropped or changed my drawback to avoid this odd situation.

How detailed/anal do you guys want me to be about weather, traveling, food, water and etc.. I would like to run a game that everyone will enjoy.

Personally, if it gets in the way of telling a good story, I'd rather skip it. If it's important to the story, then let's do it.

I'd say we need to eat, drink and sleep, but please don't be too anal about it. If we skip a meal once or if we skip just a few hours of sleep in a single night, I doubt that'd have much of an effect on a character. Though if a character skips sleeping or eating every day, things may happen to him/her.

I'd love some weather effects every now and then. To me it feels like those add a bit more depth to the surroundings in a story.

@Serila, what you said is how I like to run things. I don't want to have to make sure everyone is eating but if people are blatantly not sleeping or don't have food or water in their inventory then its not adding to the difficulty of being away from civilization, which is why everyone is not an adventure.

Does that make sense?

I would like to add weather effects just to add a little flavor.

I'm content to let you run the game as you see fit,DM Giants. I have never found the minute recording and accounting for rations/water and such to add anything to my enjoyment of the game, but I always include them in my inventory for verisimilitude.

Btw, I went ahead and dropped my drawback all together (as well as my 2nd trait: Elven Reflexes...goodbye +2 to Initiative). I considered taking Avarice as that would make sense for someone who had grown up poverty stricken and in Falcon's Hollow but I think it would create too much tension to always be whining about how much loot I was getting.

I just read through Serila's background and discovered that she is also a local resident of Falcon's Hollow. I'm wondering how well (if?) Serila and Alperion should know one another.

My PC is from the lower class caste and a half-elf with strong elven appearance to boot, so our interactions might have been somewhat limited. However, Serila is obviously "different" because of her Celestial sorcerous background and that might create some sense of affinity between the two IF Serila experienced any discrimination/problems due to her unusual appearance in what seems a rather provincial backwater village.

What say you GM Giants? Serila?

@Alperion: What about the following? Serila and Alperion didn't really know each other prior to the illness, only having seen each other on several occasions. Alperion will have known the name Gudlinck, and maybe have recognized Serila as the Gudlinck's daughter. Then, when the illness spread and Serila tried healing people, Alperion's mother was one of the people Serila tried to heal. It was then that she and Alperion came to know each other a bit better.

It's north outside of town not on the map. You might have encountered it if you came from the mountains north of town. We roll to see if you did and then roll to see if you are affected with the sickness.

I assume when you say "We" it means you are rolling that check. Not sure should I do a Fortitude roll or what, and if my +2 Disease/Poison conditional modifier would apply.

As for the "Blacksour Taint" in the notes of Laurel, it says it is a fungus and not from around the area. Is there a Knowledge (Nature) or Survival check I could make to determine if I know where that type of fungus is from?

I'm thinking that if someone or something grabbed this fungus from somewhere and deposited it in the spring to the North of town, that maybe someone saw who went and got the fungus (perhaps speak with animals spell used at the location of the fungus might reveal information). Or perhaps someone would know of a local resident who was gone for a certain amount of time a few weeks ago, which would point to a suspect who went and got the fungus and put it in the spring.

There are many springs, streams and small rivers in the Darkmoon Wood north of town which you would have traveled thru. I'm going roll a percentile to see if you happen to be in contact with the infected water source or any that may have been affect down stream of it. Lower then 20% means you did come in contact.
