Fireworks will involve seeding space with aluminium spheres with holes across their surface so the nuke within causes a fountain of fire and light. Expect the macdonalds arches written in nuclear fire to give away our location to any nearby aliens.

Grok make fire from smashing two stones. Grok smartest human alive.

Everyone will live in peace, harmony, and productivity in a world without poverty. Each will contribute to society according to his or her ability, and receive back from society according to his or her need.

It will be the year 2114 AD.

A particular segment of people will continue to insist that the end of the world is just around the corner. Any time now. End times are upon us, for real...

That isn't a prediction, that is reality.

Vive le Galt!!

Cosmo will be a brain in a jar hooked up to a supercomputer through which he rules the world. Not because he has any desire to dominate, but in order to make everyone miserable even past his natural lifespan.

We will have amazing revolutions in all scientific fields. Diseases we thought incurable today will be as unknown today as smallpox and polio. The advances we've made in the last fifty years with computers will seem like nothing compared to where we are in a hundred. We will find a solution to our energy problems and food problems.

And, despite all this, we'll still all be a$+~@@&s to each other. It'll take more than a hundred years to breed that out of the human race.

Here's a few:

  • The current geopolitical reality here on Earth will have undergone a radical shift at least once. My best guess would be an ascendant South America in alliance with parts of Africa has attained "greatest power" status while many of the "big boys" we are accustomed to are grappling with overpopulation issues and the societal repercussions therefrom.
  • One or several extraplanetary colonies will have established societies of their own.
  • A pseudo-Luddite cultural shift will take place about this time as people seek out smaller/ personal/ "living" performances that have no 'electronic connection'.
  • "Airlock P()rn."
  • Mass Combat Entertainment (MCE) on Pay-per-Battle.

Or human will have mostly exterminated each others, and nature is taking Earth back ( well, what's left of it anyway).

It's already happening, so in 100 years, the world will have been in ruins for years.

Nope. And that's the point.

Electricity generation from nuclear fusion will be just 20 years away.

Things will be remarkably like they are today and people will still gripe about not being as "in the future" as they predicted.

Considering the track record of prognostication, after all who could have predicted the Internet 50 years ago, let alone 100?; It seems a futile exercise at best.

I will predict that if we don't get our collective head out of the sand regarding climate change, that our descendants will be cursing our names within 100 years, most likely less time than that.

<nitpick>According to the Fount of All Knowledge, some fellow at ARPA laid out a plan for what he called the "Intergalactic Computer Network" in 1963.

OTOH, I don't think *anyone* predicted spam.

I think a move to more respectful companies and governments will be a logical consequence of the internet revolution.

It will be into the third decade of my invasion and enslavement of Earth.

Someone will have used some techno-magical mumbo jumbo to set us back to the stone age.

Okay... I will try my hand at it. It will take a good, long while, but the concept of nation states is not going to look even remotely similar in a hundred years. My guess is, unless they clamp down on every emerging idea for an alternative so harshly that we get a world-spanning tyranny, there is going to be some kind of clear alternative by then. Say, getting citizenship/laws/whatever goes by then from a variety of global organizations. Tying citizenship to geography is an iffy concept already. By then, it will probably seem quite laughable.

Singularity will have been achieved 50 years before. No one dies of old age. Alzheimer and motor neuron disease will be gone, along with cancer. I will be in my third android body. We will have the stars. The US congress finally decides to function with some sanity.
Yeah a little optimistic, but with all the miseries above, someone has to.
