Toppling Spell (meta magic) Feat

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

My question is if Toppling Spell is added to Magic Missile and you have Magical Lineage trait that the spell still uses a level 1 slot but doesn't each magic missle give a trip chance equal to the caster's level plus the caster's ability score bonus to trip the person so it's used like a cmb versus their cmd (but without the bad affects of missing the trip also)?

Also do you check per missile on the trip affect before the next magic missile is shot if you have several magic missiles, so you can target different people if you already tripped the original target with the first magic missile?

Magic Missile wrote:

A missile of magical energy darts forth from your fingertip and strikes its target, dealing 1d4+1 points of force damage.

The missile strikes unerringly, even if the target is in melee combat, so long as it has less than total cover or total concealment. Specific parts of a creature can't be singled out. Objects are not damaged by the spell.

For every two caster levels beyond 1st, you gain an additional missile—two at 3rd level, three at 5th, four at 7th, and the maximum of five missiles at 9th level or higher. If you shoot multiple missiles, you can have them strike a single creature or several creatures. A single missile can strike only one creature. You must designate targets before you check for spell resistance or roll damage.

Your spells with the force descriptor knock the affected creatures prone.

Benefit: The impact of your force spell is strong enough to knock the target prone. If the target takes damage, fails its saving throw, or is moved by your force spell, make a trip check against the target, using your caster level plus your casting ability score bonus (Wisdom for clerics, Intelligence for wizards, and so on). This does not provoke an attack of opportunity. If the check fails, the target cannot attempt to trip you or the force effect in response.

A toppling spell only affects spells with the force descriptor. A toppling spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell's actual level.

All missiles must be targeted before you roll damage. You must deal damage to get a trip check.

It's somewhat unclear whether the trip is triggered per spell or per damage source. (I want to say the most literal reading of RAW says per spell, even though the implication of getting a trip check vs 5 different creatures with MM is that it's per missile. I base this also, on the ruling that SA, for arcane tricksters, can only apply to a single missile, because it's s single spell.)

You could potentially target 5 people, and get 5 trip attempts. If you target the same person he'll get hit 5 times, and you'll get 5 attempts to trip him. If the first one trips him, well the rest of the attempts are obviously wasted.

Such a tactic i've seen used several times in PFS games.
