That sheet is a perfect example of an illegally modified chronicle that Mike is talking about in his post.

Also, who the hell records faction shifts like that?

Huh? No-one has said you can't add GM notes to the chronicle or that they have to be hand-written. Just that you can't alter whats already on the chronicle, or make up your own chronicle. That looked like a legal chronicle with additional notes (though I don't have that chronicle to compare).

I agree that you should be able to tell the difference between GM notes and original chronicle, but that's a separate subject.

When putting GM Notes: Annotate them as GM NOTES: then write the RP portion, and if you are going to type them in use a different font and size so its obvious its different from the actual chronicle.

We probably should not start policing fonts and font size, but DM notes should probably not be written with a name that makes them look like another boon at the bottom of the sheet.

With the way the GM, in Avatar-1's example, added changes to the sheet it falls under exactly what Mike is discussing in this thread. They added a boon in the rewards section of the chronicle sheet, and made the effort to match the font on the sheet. If you look at This Post and This Post by Mike. You will see how this faction shift note is the same as the GM who added the boon granting access to the Druidic language for Pallid Plague. Because it appears to be an illegal addition to the chronicle sheet.

The proper way to add a GM note to a chronicle sheet can be seen in Mekkis's post and falls under what Mike said he has done in the past in This post. In the example Mekkis linked the GM noted that the PC bought slaves during the scenario. The stuff has to be clearly visible as a note, and not part of the chronicle sheet.
