In spirit of submitting my own item...
Congratulations for submitting your item! It takes guts and I salute you.
Please remember to vote when voting begins on 1/1/14. Let's see if we can break the voting records from last year! I know I'm personally aiming to see if I can get more than my number last year.
Also, please do not post ANYTHING here or on other boards about what your item is. You can say that you did submit...but no identifying posts.

But my doctor warned me about the dangers of obsessive voting...
I submitted at some point in the past few days.
And even if you chicken out and don't enter, please still vote!

Submitted my [redacted] several days ago. Looking forward to the voting period.
*And suddenly I wonder how the voting tags are going to work this year?
It should be similar, although the new thing that you supposedly won't see anything twice worries me. True, I saw some items a dozen times last time and never saw mine. If that holds, the tags may be based on the percentage of possible votes you cast.
All right! I'd planned to be staring at my item for the next week, but I cleaned it up and just hit send. See everyone when it's time to get voting!
Good luck!

I'm in it to win it, and I plan on voting at least as much as I did last year.
Item submitted, finger primed and ready to click some vote buttons.

So now we have two things to look forward to at January 1: a giant pile of Wondrous Items to vote one, and the start of BBC's Sherlock season 3. Yay!
I've submitted my item, very excited to see how it fares! Looking over previous winners I haven't seen anything in the same class as this item win... wish me luck.

But I won't get through many items that way, especially with the shorter voting period this year...
Is it appropriate to vote if you submitted something? I mean, that would allow people to vote on their own submissions, wouldn't it?
Items get paired randomly and you get to upvote one item of the pair. So even if you vote for your item every time you see it (which if last year is any indicator won't be terribly often) your votes aren't going to throw the system out of whack.

I managed Marathon, which I think was a 1000 votes cast on pairs of items, and I never saw the same pairing once. I saw my item maybe 3 times against 3 different items - one of which was Top 32 and I was brave enough to vote for that over my own item because I could see it was better. The other two times, I truly believed my item was the better item in that pair.
So I wouldn't worry, you won't see your own item enough to skew the results at all.
And supposedly this year we won't be seeing the same item twice at all, according to the FAQ.

OR what if when we vote for the last time in the round, Paizo rickrolls us?

Or worse, if there's pairs of items, when you get 999 entries, you voted no 998 of them, so you never see that last one :P

I can say that I voted somewhere in the 2,500 range last year and only saw my item after the Great Culling of 2013. And I DEFINITELY saw the EXACT same pairing many, many times. I am super excited if they figured out how to do unique pairings without being computationally too expensive.
Gary, I would love to chat and see how you all did it. If you wouldn't mind or if there aren't any NDA's or fear of patenting or somesuch about the logic and algorithms.
Hmm, I'd like it better if it was so that you would vote on all items once, then reshuffled and allowed you to do them all over again.

Just stopped screaming long enough to click "submit". I need to lie down for a while.

Submitted! And I'll express my concern that we will only see an item once; we can't place pairs in different positions if all we have are a bunch of "this is better than that" pairings. I assume it will be just a mass of data gathered from how many times an item is voted up over voted down.
Sad, as it is likely I will run out of voting opportunities rather quickly with the way I vote. I sort of wanted to go for as high a level as I could again this year. Ah, well, it is what it is.

First time submitting, posted and now needing meds for anxiety. I too will lay down for a while. If lucky sleep till Jan 1st and wake in time to vote lots.
Grats to anybody who has submitted well before deadline and can handle the stress.
I wish everybody good Game Mastering, cause luck has nothing to do with this roll of the dice.
Remember: inhale-exhale-inhale-exhale... Repeat as needed until the submission are revealed.
;)
First time submitter too. Been playing RPGs for 27-odd years though, so it'll be interesting to see if any of that time (well spent) pays off!
Was going to sit there and fiddle with text for a few more days, but I knew I'd end up not posting it at all so I thought "sod it" and submitted.
Now I just hope I chose the right item! I had three planned & designed..
Good luck everyone. I'm looking forward to seeing some very amazing items in the voting rounds.
Just submitted as well. Good luck to all! Is there any confirmation sent that your submission was "received" ?

Yep! In the spot where the submission button was previously, there should now be a new, uh, non-button. It says:
Thanks for entering RPG Superstar—good luck!
Your submission was received [date/time]
Come back January 1 to cast your vote!
Derp, thanks for pointing that out.
