Sometime in January, the second official PbP Game Day event will also be starting, which will be open to everyone that registers for it (free). Keep an eye open in this "Grand lodge Online Play thread", and also check out the one that is still currently going on HERE.
It's too late to get into the first one, which ends on Jan 4th, but if you want to read through it, you might be able to get some ideas for the next one.
Also, as Kyshkumen said, look at the Recruitment threads. Generally what you want to look for is games asking for players that have a number of Reply's under say 20. More than that and the seats are likely filled already, but you can still try to get in. Also, make sure you check what sorts of guidelines, restrictions, and character creation rules the GM has, to make sure if you do find a game, it will be one you would like to try to get into.

I thought I'd bump this thread as it's as good as any.
Sinotce I've been chatting with some of you nice folk over in that her thread, I've become interested in checking out the PFS PbP options over here. Is anyone in the pre-recruitment phase or is everyone waiting to see if there is to be another Gameday event before recruiting players?
I'm also wondering if the PFS PbP recruitment wouldn't be better positioned in this forum (or some subforum), rather than mixed in with the other games at the location linked above. You folk are already recruiting VTT games here so it makes sense to me to put all the Paizo-sourced online PFS recruitment in one place.

There are PFS PbP games popping up weekly over at the site Kyshkumen has linked. I like going to the site this way better.
Paizo has been kind to PbP'ers on the its message boards as it has set tabs at the top for games set up in the Online Campaigns section. Therefore its easier to manage Recruitment, Discussion, & Gameplay aspects of the game. You can't set it up that way if you start a recruitment thread in the PFS forums. Then to make matters worse, you set up 2 threads, you'll get cross traffic.
It has already been said that the powers that be will not be creating another subforum just for PFS recruitment. I would rather keep any recruitment out of the Online PFS forums all together as they seem to come in waves and clog up the forum.
But things are workings fine as they currently are.

Thanks guys. As an outsider to PbP on these boards, I'm not entirely sure I understand how those low-level revolving recruitment threads work. (i.e. is 4th level "Low" as far as they are concerned? How often do they spawn new games? Do I have to set a particular character aside while they are in the queue or can I do a last minute substitution to a different Low-tier character when the game does start?).
Might be easiest to wait for the next Gameday recruitment round, whenever that is, and sign up for one of those games to get my feet wet.

Generally it will be kind of up to the individual games to be more specific. I would consider 1st-5th to be low level, and some DM's are more concerned than others about picking players based on some criteria while others are first come, first serve.
If it is PFS organized Play, than the character you play is unplayable in anything else until that game is over (as normal 1 game at a time per character), but the DM of the individual game decides if it's cool to swap out characters before the game starts, (usually fine).
