Wildblooded Sorcerers and Ampoule of False Blood

Ok, so a few questions concerning the interactions of the Wildblooded Archetype and the Ampoule of False Blood

1. Can the Ampoule contain a wildblooded strain? My assumption here is no because it can mess with other sorcerer archetypes that may not be compatible with a specific wildblooded strain.

2. If 1 is no, does the a Wildblooded Sorcerer have a wildblooded strain version of the bloodline in the Ampoule, with or without drinking it? If this answer is no then drinking the ampoule would make the sorcerer lose the Wildblooded Archetype.

3. And the most important question, how does wearing the Ampoule interact with the Sylvan wildbloodline, since it's bloodline arcana and level 1 power are one and the same. The way the archetype is worded, Sylvan seems to actually lose the first level bloodline ability and simply gains a more powerful arcana, but does a Sylvan wildblood Sorcerer gain a first level bloodline ability from an Ampoule? Do they lose their animal companion?

I don't know 1 and 2 tho my guess is no as wildblooded etc is an archetype.

As for 3 you loose your animal companion.

I'm actually inclined to agree with you there, but the way the ampoule is worded I can see it working either way, since as written the animal comp is both the arcana and the first level ability, and the ampoule specifically says "The ampoule has no effect on the sorcerer’s bonus spells, bloodline arcana, or bonus feats from her original bloodline (which remain unchanged)."

Yes but it isn't trade half and get full. You no longer qualify as you lost half of qhat you paid for the archetype.

1. I would suspect no, since the bloodlines require an archetype. However, the FAQ on crossblooded/wildblooded suggests that's it's not entirely inappropriate.

A wildblooded sorcerer has a mutated version of a more common bloodline, with one arcana and at least one bloodline power that are different from those of an unmutated bloodline. When creating a wildblooded sorcerer, select an existing bloodline, then select one of the following mutated bloodlines associated with that bloodline. Use the normal bloodline’s class skill, bonus spells, and bonus feats, and the mutated bloodline’s bloodline arcana. Use the normal bloodline’s bloodline powers, except when the mutated bloodline replaces one of those powers.

Based on the the part I bolded, the RAW interpretation should be considered "only at creation" since that's what it says. However, you shouldn't lose the archetype just by switching your BL... if you were to ever switch back, you should still have the wildblooded mutation, essentially preventing you from ever having access to the nonmutated version.

But, as it's also apparent that the archetype was written before the possibility of changing bloodlines... it is certainly reasonable to interpret it to say that "if a BL has any WB mutations associated with it, you must pick one of them".
I personally have no problem with this interpretation, but it should be a consistent rule, that either a Wildblooded Sorcerer can only use variant BLs(if available), or that he only gets the one selected at creation.

3. Sylvan

Quote:

Bloodline Arcana: See bloodline powers.

Bloodline Powers: Your magic shows a kinship to that of the beast-talkers and shapechanger fey.

Animal Companion (Ex): You gain an animal companion. Your effective druid level for this ability is equal to your sorcerer level – 3 (minimum 1st). This bloodline power counts as your bloodline arcana and also replaces laughing touch.

You have it backwards, your 1st level power counts as your arcana, but it is by definition only a BL power.

I really wish they had reversed this relationship as it causes wonky interactions with things like this.

Strictly RAW, you already can't substitute a WB variant into the ampoule, so it's not an issue. And, you likely can't swap a WB sorcs BL to Sylvan, so still no problem.
But, if you are allowing either variant ampoules, or WB swaps, the interaction is such that a "Sylvan Ampoule" would grant the power as stated. (I suspect most GMs would disallow this, or suppress your current arcana)

A Sylvan sorcerer using any other ampoule would indeed lose his companion (because it is listed as the 1st level BL power) for the duration. How this is to be handled is up to your GM however, as the animal wouldn't just disappear, it would just lose all of benefits granted by being an AC. Whether or not you could reacquire the same animal upon stopping use of the ampoule would also be at his discretion.
