The swashbuckler as a class can't benefit from its full range of abilities with the Aldori dueling sword... which is a pity because it does fit in well with the concept.
Perhaps a ruling that allows the class to also use that weapon (paying the exotic weapon feat as normal would still apply) wouldn't be a horrible addition. In terms of crit range and replenishment of Panache its a sub-optimal choice and it does cost a feat to be able to use the weapon.

(waits for it to be moved)
Thought about this very thing in the morning (shower logic). The issue seems to be that you need Aldori dueling style for the swashbuckler's abilites to apply. Now you could get that, but you've roughly 4 'dead levels' where it would be very suboptimal (spending a feat on EWP then another on Weapon focus, then finally being able to use it when you take Aldori dueling style. Short of retraining once you've enough feats, it's not practical.
And that's not including you're either a) spending gold on a rapier you're trading out eventually, or b) using a sword that won't regenerate your panache.
I think an archtype would be the answer.

Rather than something weapon-specific, it really just needs to be changed to "light or one-handed weapons" or "light or one-handed swords" or the like.
That way the oddness of picks working but some swords not working goes away, and archetypes can tailor the class features and deeds to different weapon classes (like, say, a "viking raider" archetype with axes and spears).

Actually... this is the type of comment and observation I hope we see more of.
While the hardcover line is world neutral... in theory, it DOES directly support Golarion, and allowing the swashbuckler to use something like an Aldori dueling sword makes a lot of sense. I would love to see this type of thing work better between the hardcovers and Golarion content...
...so keep comments like this coming!!

Hah, Not gonna lie, my friend and I were just talking about this exact thing on the way to get food. We came up with pretty much what you guys did; i.e. that since Aldori Dueling Master (And my extension Dervish Dance) allow their respective weapons to count as piercing weapons for the purpose of qualifying for the Duelist's Precise Strike ability, it made sense for them to also allow a character to Qualify for the Swash-Buckler's Precise Strike ability.

the swashbuckler's finesse ability bugs me in general. He's THE finesse class, so why does he have a limited version of the feat that doesn't meet prerequisites for improved versions? It's not just the duelling sword, it's everything that needs the feat. Look at Mythic Weapon Finesse, for example. Mythic swashbucklers can't have the first thing they'll want.
