This is, most likely, the VERY LAST 52% off Genius sale.

From November 2009 through October 2013. Super Genius Games successfully released a new product a week, every week without fail, for 4 years. At the end of each year, they held a 52% off "52 in 52" sale to thank their fans.

While SGG managed to finish a forth full year of weekly releases this year before taking a break, it didn't have a chance to hold that sale. Since a large percentage of Super Genius's products and staff are now part of Rogue Genius Games, over the past few weeks a lot of people have asked me about that missing sale.

So now, to honor our heritage and to celebrate an unbroken year of releases one final time, we're having a 52% off sale of our ENTIRE back catalog of SGG products. More than 200 pdfs at more than half off, from Nov. 19th through Dec 1st!

What Super Genius Games accomplished was amazing, and Rogue Genius Games has no aspirations to repeat it anytime soon. So please come celebrate with us as we have the VERY LAST 52% off for 52 in 52 Sale!

So, now the OTHER part of these sales!

When we had a big sale, I used to grab a forum thread, ask for patron feedback, and offer a free pdf to everyone who gave it to me. I always did this without checking with my partners, though since I always did it, it's a fair bet they'd have told me to stop if it had bothered them.

But now? Now I have gone Rogue, and the call is mine.

So, here is the deal:

Give me an idea for a game product you'd REALLY like to see, but WOULDN'T have expected Super Genius to have done. I have a new venue, and new ideas flowing, and new writers coming to me so, give me your Rogue ideas!

After you do that, IM me with your email and what Rogue Genius product you'd like a copy of for free! Make sure you pick something from

Rogue Genius Games, since we don't have rights to all the old SGG products.

Keep in mind:
Don't hold back. I may not do any of these ideas, but I want to hear them all!
DON'T tell me what free pdf you want here. Tell me in an IM, with your email. That's how you get your pdf sent to you!!

Okay, folks. Go Rogue!

The rest of the special materials enchantments like the silver 5 Silver Weapon Properties.

Oh also a shadow warrior class much like the shadow assassin. ;p You know I couldn't resist

edit...So I feel stupid...I now see there is a bullet point for cold iron weapons.....but at least I was only half wrong. :)

Sad to hear this is probably the last of these sales. Always looked forward to them every year. As for ideas...

- Moar Apeiron Staves. Love those!
- Talented Class books. I know more are coming, but it needs to be said.
- Mythic Godling options. It just feels right.
- Expanded dragons for the dragon rider (primal, space, etc). I mean, doesn't eveyone want to ride a Lunar dragon across the night sky?
- Since the advanced class playtest started, I'd love to see your take on some other hybrid classes.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'll second Aleron's desire for expanded Dragon Rider options but since you asked for products you have never tried out before under your banner, how about an adventure path that all the "big bads" are from classes that Rogue Genius developed.

You could include a bullet point like product included with each AP chapter that was specific to the class the big bad in the chapter was a part of.

Just and idea.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Just picked up the whole talented line, several bullet points and HELLFIRE! Yay for discounts!

Suggestions:
Your forte seems short but sweet, so since you are asking for new ideas, how about series of short adventures, 1-20th lvl, outlining a new campaign setting?

> An adventure. You guys seem creative and interesting but your ideas have been pretty much limited to mechanics; let's see you put yourselves to the test of fluff and scenery and writing a story. And yes, as Lohan said, fill it with allies, opponents, and villains using SGG/RGG mechanics.

> Yes, more stuff for the Dragonrider. In particular - adapting the class to use Drakes, Wyverns, and other "lesser dragons" for people who balk at the idea of "diluting" or "lessening" True Dragons by having them letting mere mortals ride them and boss them around.

> Something that jumps outside the normal mechanics of the game. No Vancian-style casting, combatants not relying on the same style of "run up and hit it with weapon" battle tactics. Maybe a telekinetic fighter who controls weapons from afar using invisible hands? I've always wanted a class like that, that doesn't require on hodge-podging around with magic with a wizard/sorcerer who could be spending his time casting better spells instead. Or a caster who relies on something other than spell slots to fuel their magic? A Skill-based caster not unlike 3.5's Truenamer might be a nice idea - but if it can be pulled off correctly, and not the horrible failed attempt that Truenamer was.

That's all that comes to me now, but I'll come back if more ideas rise up =)

I've always wanted to see something like the SAGA condition track ported to PF...

You should already have my email address. :)

So much this! I think I've brought up a revisit to the Truenamer every time this annual thread appears.

Wouldn't mind seeing enhancements to the whole wordcasting system like an SGG presents or Houserule Handbook on the subject.

The Talented Line must continue!!! Really like the way those are going.

Thanks as always for your consideration.

Also, any update on when we might see the Kitsune race book come back?

hmmm, something I wouldnt have expected SGG to do? Thats not easy. You guys did alot of the things I liked.

I think i'd like Anachronistic Adventures focused on victorian era concepts. The technology and class concepts of anachronistic adventures appears to be early to mid 20th century, what if we went back a century or two from that? Genius rules for black powder weapons, and classes that use them. Unarmored combat from classes that arent monks etc. There is some foundation already in genius products but I'd like to see what else you can add to it and consolidate it.

Oh and I'd like the genius guide to apeiron staves

What would be incredibly sweet would be Herolab Files for your Talented line of products.

I like the Talented book, and love the Talented Rogue especially.

As a DM (and as a player) I'd like to use that book around the gaming table, but these days I've become terribly dependent on HL files (and I suspect I'm not the only one :-). That's the only thing holding me back, as a DM, to allow the use of the Talented Rogue at my table.

Congratulations on your transition to Rogue Genius Games, and for churning out all these great product over the years at SGG !

"Days of Futures Past" - retro sci-fi settings or adventures using the AA classes.

More Talented books.

I would love to see more material from this collection of talented people put together branch outside a little farther, like perhaps into the spandex 4/color world of supportive material for Mutants & Masterminds from Green Ronin perhaps. Seems like a natural fit, given the connections there Owen, lol.

Perhaps a Bullet Point series expanding upon powers, or new tactics/weapons/gear....heck, I'd even love to see a fully fledged now character from time to time (The world always needs new villains, just saying). I dare say I know you know a couple of artists who have an affinity for superhero art, lol.

As far as staying within the standard fantasy? How about re-exploring the concepts of chaositech, and its descendant fleshcrafting?

Hybrids and crossbreeding perhaps...we've all got the owlbear, but when was the last truly cool amalgamation "thing" that stuck? Why?

What about giving those who ride the more exotic mounts as much attention as the dragon rider? Griffin riders perhaps? A full cavalier archetype could be built there. Or a tribe of goblins taking advantage of a particular sub-line of hill giants, harnessing them with howdahs and riding them into battle...stop laughing, lol. I'm not saying a full blown 30-45 page book here, but easily a handful of pages with storyline, some feats and combat tactics, rules for the "mount" and such....besides, you know as well as I do the idea would make for a great Jacob piece of art :P

As always, Thank You Owen for listening to your readers and fans, know matter how far off the rails we fall sometimes, lol.

P.S. Oh, and because I ask every time you do this....Kragnar. Stats. Or perhaps even could we be lucky enough to see him return with more wares to ply the coins from our pockets?

One of the things I plan to bring to the RGG table is some exploration into other gaming systems. I love RPGs!

Obviously, fans have to make them viable to support the efforts, but we will see where it goes. Btw, Rogue Mage, one of the games I've produced for Misfit Studios, is an M&M game, though 2e with tweaks. I wouldn't exclude M&M from my list of games to support.

We are going rogue, so anything is possible.:)

After downloading a few bullet points today, I was surprised to see I had 132 items in my Genius folder. I had to look through the list in order to see what I didn't have so I could take advantage of the 52% sale :)
I realized that it is all good - even if it is something I will not use in my games each one was a good read.

As far as something new - I like the idea of bad guys. But that would have his/her stats and story at several levels - say 5th,10th and 15th. Maybe a page of stats and a page/half-page of story for each "tier". Part of the story could be a "fiendish plot plan" that would be just a few sentences.

Something of a "Rogue Gallery" product? This sounds awesome.

well the release of the The Genius Guide to the Dracomancer would be nice...been waiting for 2 years on this....no rush :)

on new projects however...
how about a card base one? I been playing Magic for a long time and such a concept in Pathfinder would not be impossible to do. if I recall I think Deadfox games try to do this with the Gypsy?

Ok, just to go as totally rogue as I can possibly think:

How about Rogue Genius Games work on some bullet point type products and enchantments to the World of Darkness line of games? Vampire 20, Werewolf 20, Exalted 3e, etc??

I could even help put you into contact with the right people.

Would only want World of Darkness if it was the original WOD and Masquerade before White Wolf went in a streamline edition that didnt have the history loved so much.

How about a race line that adds more choices for each race? Would love to see options for crossbreed races like a Dhampiric elf or even a orkish tiefling

I'd like to see some sort of steam-punky prosthetics in the vein of the old "Steam & Steel: Expanded Prosthetics" from Ronin Arts but with that amazing Genius Guide touch :)

I'm going to miss these sales, but I already have most of your products so far, lol :)

I've pretty much made clear what I've always wanted from SGG games and would like from Rogue: a campaign setting.

This new world would bring the various RGG products from Anachronistic Adventurers, classes like the Godling, magic systems (especially spell points), the monsters, etc., into a cohesive whole. Examples of such contained backgrounds include Eberron by WotC, Amethyst Renaissance by Dias Ex Machina, Third Dawn Campaign Setting by Dreamscarred Press, and NeoExodus: A House Divided by Louis Porter Jr. Design, Inc. Heck, you could have some sorta competition to create such a setting among fans, or at least part of it.

Course this "Rogue planet" would be compatible with Pathfinder.

Hope this is interesting enough to warrant a free pdf :)

As a lover of Open Design's Shaman, I would have liked a SGG supplement for that class, but it wasn't very likely since SGG had their own shaman. But since RGG has not... what about a Genius Guide to Shaman's Totem Powers?^^

I wouldn't mind more mythic products too. New mythic paths, mythic familiars/companions, mythic feats, and so on.

And familiars/companion stuff! Feats, variants, squire/cohort archetypes...

Would help GMs a lot with "5th level Vanguard" or "3rd level young Godling."

That's something Owen and I have briefly discussed. Making the time for it is going to be the biggest problem.

Something much more extensive I'd like to see is a guide to reworking Pathfinder to a silver (as opposed to) gold based economy. I'd like copper and silver to be valueable.

Matt, not to steal thunder from RGG, but in my role as developer for Misfit Studios, we have done that with the SpirosBlaak setting. We are getting that ready for a Pathfinder release in 2014, but as a 3.5 book, it is still very useful. The Bite Me! project on lycanthropes is attached to that goal, as that upcoming book and related pdfs (like Wereblooded by Ben McFarland) are about making the lycanthropes playable PC races.

Also, note that Todd Stewart is on board to do many a planar thing for RGG. :)

EDIT: I'm feeling like we need an RGG blog to let folks know what's in the pipeline.

Can I just say once again how awesome you are for doing this again? It's great that you actively seek ideas from us, but the free PDF is wonderful and much appreciated. May everyone at Rogue Genius enjoy a very productive and profitable 2014!

Well, besides more in the Talented line and anything by Todd Stewart or Mike Welham...

  • Genius Guide to Valkyries & Viragos

  • Mythic Menagerie for the aboleths, variants, and their servitors

  • Genius Guide to "Master of Many Forms" wildshaper/shapeshifter

  • Mythic Menagerie for automatons, robots, and clockworks (for the Numeria AP)

  • Genius Guide to the Shadow Knight (maybe built around OD's Spell-less Ranger?), a Talented Shadow Assassin, and anything else along these lines

  • Genius Guide to the Wolf Head, and More Power of the Ninja

  • Anything for DSP's psionics

  • Flesh-/"cyber"-grafts and augments, and fleshwarping

  • Genius Guide to Curses

  • Genius Guide to Reincarnation

  • Anything body horror

  • Genius Guide to Fantastic Familiars

  • Genius Guide/Mythic Menagerie to anything outer space

  • Mythic Menageries centered around flora and fauna per each ranger terrain

To add some ideas:

-ANY further support for released classes like Witch Hunter, Shadow Assassin Hellion etc.

-books of pregens/sample NPCs (NPC Codex-style) using these classes (including talented builds - any left fro playtests? Compile them and release them!)

-Doing Shadow Magic that doesn't suck

-+1 to KTFish7's suggestions of magitech à la Chaositech

-MORE CHAOS MAGIC

-DSP-support, Pact Magic support

-Truename magic that doesn't suck

-Ultimate Campaign-support; more downtime

-+1 to The_Silver_Prince's suggestions for space - including 0-g-combat etc.

So the NPC Codex is the preferred standard of presentation? I've got a Talented Rogue build that I'm looking to finish up and release into the wild at some point (7-day weeks being away from home 15hrs or more a day is getting OLD, I tell ya's...)

I keep seeing certain topics/titles popping up in these threads. Interesting. And encouraging.

Also: Oh God this sale. :O

Did you intend for us to sent that to your Paizo inbox Owen?

Liberty's Edge

- NPC Codex of Monstrous characters (Orcs, Kobolds and some such)

(BTW, I second the NPC Codex with your classes)

- Also your take on other hybrids than the one currently being playtested, for example for classes where multiclassing would become beyond MAD

- Your take on your own hybrids with your own classes ;-)

- Stats for magical beast companions for Druids, Rangers, Hunters ... Might be expanded to other creature types such as Oozes, Elementals, everything really.

I WOULD KILL FOR THIS !!!

Figuratively of course ;-)

Yeah, although if you have my email or Facebook chat, that's fine too. The important thing is you need to give me your email address, because that's how the system I am using to send out codes for free pdfs knows where to send them.

The gladiator campaign. Incredibly, nobody has done this yet! Start your PCs as slaves, fighting for their lives in the arena. Will they rise to become famous heroes of the ring, slavemasters themselves, and nobles of the Empire? Or will they spearhead the great rebellion that brings the whole rotten system down?

I'd like to see some One Night Stands, of varying levels, that incorporate a couple of things from other RGG products. the BBEG is from Mythic Menagerie, or a Kobold King. Some items from the other guides. I like Felgar the Goblin King. More easy to run adventures that point to another RGG product would be fun and feel like it's part of something bigger while still being a stand alone.

Not to threadjack from my own company's thread, but....

I'm going to do book of Talented characters based on the RGG Talented Guides. It will be called The Talented Adventurers of SpirosBlaak. It will be a Rogue's Gallery that some of you requested, but just for the Talented classes available--and hopefully the barbarian.

This is a charity product, and it will go up on IndieGoGo. The funds go to help me and my husband purchase some medicine (I'm the only one working in my household, and have been for almost 3 years--my husband is on 16 meds, and I'm an insulin-dependent diabetic; we spend about $350 in meds a month); help an unemployed friend pay a bill or two; and to help my disabled, single-parent sister pay some bills and provide her son something for Christmas--her house burned down in June, and though she has a house now, she's having trouble making ends meet; the insurance only helped so much.

Names who have agreed to provide characters so far: My RGG boss, the very TALENTED, Owen Stephens; RPG Superstars Mike Welham and Steven Helt; Rick Hershey of Fat Goblin Games; my good friend Robert Hudson, who has written several Pathfinder products that are coming down the pike; Mark Gedak of Purple Duck Games; and Carlos Ovalle and Chris Harris, who have both done work for RGG, my other publishing venues, and Kobold Press. I'll have some more names, I'm sure.

Even better: You CAN buy in to write a character--or more--yourself! Familiarity with the Talented Guides is required. Familiarity with SpirosBlaak (available through Misfit Studios) is not necessary, as I can fit your character to the setting. It's an Open Game setting, btw, and I hope to convince Owen to include it in whatever campaign world I can talk him into creating over the next few years. Btw, Freeport exists within this realm, so Freeport is a viable setting. Just keep to the Open Game Content on Freeport, if you go that route.

I'll post news in the COMPATIBLE thread when it goes live.
