1 to 50 of 91 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | next > last >>

I'm looking to run this module for PFS sanctioned players. It's a 14-16 adventure. We have 5 players in so far, and would like more. For the table to be PFS valid everyone has to have a PFS legal player in the level range. Pregens are not available, and you cannot just cook up a character to play.
So if you happen to be interested and satisfy the listed criteria, let me know.

Sovereign Court

OK, time to kill more things.

Liberty's Edge

#2 of the 5 already signed up, checking in. I believe my char proflr is up to date, barring a few healing items and arrows still to buy.

The Exchange

#3 Checking in.. My list is up to date as well.. Will be no further purchases..

Thanks for running us btw..

Sovereign Court

This will be great Ty for running.

I am on the home stretch of my nightmare weeks of work, so I will be a little scarce till Monday but then back to my regular!

I will put up my new sheet in profile today

No problem. I haven't run anything for a while, so forgive me if I am a bit rusty at first. I'll give it about 24 hours on the off chance so random wants to join, but I'm not holding my breathe.

The Exchange

Not to many 14-16 pfs guys out there.. Turst me when i say that the 5 of us will be more than plenty.. Lithuan, Vars and Duhwoo could prob 3 man it lol..

Me and Vuvu will cast the occasional spell and make 40 knowledge rolls to look important.. Most monsters are ran over in the first 2 rounds by the 3 mentioned above..

Although i did do over 200 damage with a disentegrate crit last go around.. I was pretty pleased with that..

Sovereign Court

I was idly considering if we were capable of dropping a balor with this team. I think it is possible, but would require proper circumstances and some luck.

Sovereign Court

ok my sheet is updated link in profile

The Exchange

I could beat its SR with a 6 or better, but with its high saves i wouldnt get much through without a low roll on his part.. Power Word Stun would be a great finisher though and i could enervate the hell out of him lol.. Oops i forgot about my handy dandy Battering Blast.. No save and he has no immunities/resistance to force..

A decent start would be a Maze spell on him to allow us fully buff, if we weren't already..

Sovereign Court

If I could land a crit on him early, while it wouldn't put it down, he would be exhausted and down to one one action per round. At that point his only real option would be to run or death would be inevitable. He's be down -3 to hit and -3 on his AC, and I would physically beat him like a rented mule. Hell, I almost wonder if between Duh, me and Lithuan if we would really have trouble putting out enough damage in a round to outright kill him if we had the drop on him (or just all got initiative).

The Exchange

It's cetainly possible, although I think yall would have to get lucky with several crits to kill him in 1 round.. If he gets a round or 2 though yall might be in trouble.. All he would have to do is take Lithuan out of the fight and then use his 90' movement to keep distance and use his spells to finish off you and Duhwoo.. Power Word Stun at will is a beast considering you and Lithuan have less than an 150 hps..

NTM 6 vorpal attacks a round with a full attack..

Sovereign Court

Yeah, his AC is high enough to make landing enough interatives in one round to make it pretty iffy. Luckily the beast doesn't have improved critical or that vorpal would scare me silly. As is, it's only a 10% (on the sword, 5% on the whip) chance and he has a lousy chance to hit me past the first attack (which means confirming is unlikely and with the jingasa, I get one freebie). If he tries power attack (which would seem likely, but he would be smart enough to stop in short order) I won't worry at all.

The Exchange

Vorpal only works on nat 20's so it 5% for all on his attacks.. After 1 round of attack you he would switch to Lithuan for sure.. Unless you had time to coat your weapon he would be the only one doing full damage to him.. If he put him down and yall would be in trouble.. Of course he could remove him from combat with a quickend Telekinesis grab of his bow.. None Buffed he would need a 7 on the die to do that.. Without his bow i think you all are doomed lol.. 90' movement with an action still is just to much for yall to handle i think.. Would be an interesting fight though lol.. Alot would be left up too initiative and the player of the Balor.. As a whole though our group wouldn't have an issue i don't think..

Sovereign Court

Didn't see that about vorpal. Hmm, I'd never waste the money on that then.

As for me having to use bless weapon, actually I now have bane evil outside on the weapon, so against demons, devils, daemons, etc it is permanently a +5 weapon and hence counts as good (I can find the Jacobs quote which validates this). I will be doing pretty mean damage to him from the start. 1d8 + 28 +2d6 is going to leave a mark. That's taking chunks out of him at roughly 40 HP a swipe. Land a crit and it's up to 100 for that tap.

The Exchange

Oh yea.. Forgot about your bane.. Regardless he has a 24int.. He's not trading blows with a tank that he can't hit.. If i ran the balor yall would have to win initiative to have a chance me thinks.. Even then some luck would have to enter..

Sovereign Court

Yeah, he's better off with his spell like abilities. About the only saving grace is that he might waste a turn on dominate person.

Sovereign Court

Why all the balor talk?

Sovereign Court

because we're bored and the game doesn't start until tomorrow

and there was this PFS module last night...

Yarr!

I was originally scheduled to play this online via VTT but due to some weekend work I picked up that is no longer possible.

So I have some interest in this game but it'd likely be a long commitment and one of the few remaining chances to play Farak, The Most Powerful Mage in All Absalom, but have several questions first:

What sort of posting rate/frequency are you looking for? (including over the holidays)

Thevshi: There are no other posts from you on the Paizo forums, tell me a little about yourself, what's your GMing style? Do you have prior experience running and/or playing PFS elsewhere?

For the other players, how about you guys? It sounds like you guys know each other. What's your guys style? Max out DPR and saving throw DCs to fight the epic monsters? Long dice-free RP sessions. Somewhere inbetween?

Sorry for all the questions I'm just trying to figure out what I'd be getting myself into.

Sovereign Court

I know two of the people personally ((Duhwoo and Lithuan, plus the judge Thevshi). The other two have been through Academy of Secrets and Tomb of the Iron Medusa with us.

We would hope for daily posting (several times a day preferably). We are generally willing to bot people if necessary to keep it moving. I finished running Medusa in about a month. I think Thevshi is going to be a bit sparse on weekends (or so he told me) but weekdays should be rapid. I doubt Thanksgiving will be active, and to be honest I hope to be done well before Christmas.

We engage in role play, but I would definitely say this party is not short on optimization. I don't know that we're extreme in the cheese, but we don't leave a lot on the table either.

Don't know if Thevshi will have a chance to respond shortly, but he's someone I've known for a decade or so, and while new to PFS, he is plenty familiar with Pathfinder and judging (though as he mentioned he hadn't judged in a little while). I have explained to him how PFS has to roll (RAW) and he's game for it. He can comment on this later and disabuse me of any of it to my face since he'll be here in a couple hours for my home game.

Liberty's Edge

I think this group is a bit lighter on the RP side and a bit stronger on DPR/saving throws department. In part it's because Vars, Duhwoo, and myself are fairly new to PbP so we're not terribly disciplined about keeping the chatter in the Gameplay thread to a minimum. But the RP is definitely there.

The players for Vars, Duhwoo and myself are all from the same geographic area, although we've played with Avoreal and Vuvu enough now (this is our third module together) to understand their playstyle and characters.

I think we claim 1 post/day with the GMs that have run so far, but we have been averaging more then that; 2-5 day, GM depending. Vuvu and Vars were GMs before, Thevshi will be a new GM for this particular collection of folks.

Sovereign Court

I still haven't completely level'd Duhwoo up, but if the module doesn't start off with the PCs in combat, I believe I'm ready for intro text...

Sovereign Court

We will be starting tomorrow afternoon most likely. If Pirate signs up, we're full and ready to go though. Thevshi just happens to be busy before tomorrow afternoon. I will not grant him leave from tonights game to start.

The Exchange

Hello Rob.. The others have it about right.. We're not min/max, but we're certainly not vanilla either.. Everyone has stout characters, so much that we've had little need for a full blown healer through our 2 modules together.. Vuvu and wands have been more than enough.. Im a xmute spec mage myself.. I focus on high dcs and high rolls to beat SR.. What spec is your mage?

Also while in Absalom she would give you a run for most powerful mage :).. She's not there often though so you have no challenge to your title..

Oh i played with Buckwheat in a recent game.. Nice character there..

Sovereign Court

If you dig hard enough on his profile, you can at least see a summation of his character stats (no full sheet). Looks like a sorc with a dip level of paladin (or so I have to assume, I cannot imagine getting his saves any other way) and perhaps an oracle dip also. Of course I would have to see the sheet.

Thanks for the quick answers to my questions.

A bit about myself:

I'm currently a full time homemaker and able to post multiple times most weekdays. Weekends I tend to travel to cons or game days or just spend more time with my wife.

I've played and GMed several pbps here on Paizo. (I'm currently not GMing any but am playing in several.)

Assuming you guys want me, I'll be playing a vary gregarious and boastful character who's fairly worthless when it comes to killing monsters but brings some good skills to the table is great at pulling out tricks to keep things from going too pear shaped. I also have several immediate actions which are a bit of a challenge to resolve in pbp but I'm confident something can be worked out.

As a note I played through a little bit of the intro to this with Mattastrophic GMing, but I don't think I know anything spoiling as I don't think I got much past his custom intro for our characters, which I'm fairly certain has little to do with the actual scenario.

Lemme know if you guys have any further questions for me.

Liberty's Edge

Male Paladin 2/ Rogue 1/ Wizard 1/ Oracle 1/Pathfinder Delver 10/Pathfinder Field Agent 1

Heh

Liberty's Edge

Ah, haven't played with Mattastrophic for a bit. I wonder if he's still on his Taldan bard kick.

The Exchange

So not an actual mage.. Super skill monkey.. I was wondering about the saving throws lol..

Sovereign Court

Funny, sounds like you'll fit right in. I don't think we need more firepower, so a jack of all trades master of weirdness will be fine.

Amusing that I just picked the sorc part wrong, but I did get the Paladin and Oracle right.

Liberty's Edge

By the way Pirate, everyone *knows* Thorne is the most powerful mage in Absalom.

The Exchange

Who? Ill blast him and claim my rightful throne..

Something funny though.. My Contingency Teleport is set to the Absalom chapter house..

Liberty's Edge

I like the skills.

Skills Acrobatics +20, Appraise +7, Bluff +19, Craft (weapons) +12, Diplomacy +18, Disable Device +37, Disguise +16, Fly +5, Handle Animal +16, Intimidate +41, Knowledge (arcana) +16, Knowledge (dungeoneering) +16, Knowledge (engineering) +16, Knowledge (geography) +15, Knowledge (history) +16, Knowledge (local) +16, Knowledge (nature) +16, Knowledge (nobility) +16, Knowledge (religion) +16, Knowledge (planes) +16, Linguistics +7, Perception +34, Ride +5, Sense Motive +3, Sleight of Hand +5, Spellcraft +22, Survival +3, Swim -1, Use Magic Device +37

And I thought vars was scary.

Sorry, in joke. Thorne is also not actually a wizard. Super funny player though (Painlord's character)

Shadow Lodge

thorne... THORNE THORNE!!! That fool, that charlatan. Thorne is nothing but a pretender, for I am the Most Powerful Mage in *ALL* Absalom!

The Exchange

I see.. I haven't done to many pfs on the boards.. Maybe 10-12 including Avoreal's so i haven't met him yet..

Liberty's Edge

I don't know that I've seem him do PbP. I played with him at a PaizoCon.

Sovereign Court

Vars is scary only in practice, not really in skills. Hard to make a skill monkey fighter (even if you do make a lore warden).

Well this should be interesting. We managed to find a member who will be useful, but will likely not contribute to the overkill.

The Exchange

Indeed and with that DD roll Duhwoo can save his elementals and horsies from certain death..

Come now Farak, we know you and Thorne are both the most powerful mage's in Absalom. Just not at the same time.

Sorry for the delay, work and all that. I've been playing DnD for almost 30 years, but my GM experience is a bit light. I'm playing in a home pathfinder game run by Vars at the moment. Like he said, I will be available most during the weekdays, but my weekends will be pretty light activity.

Don't know that I have a specific GM style. I'll do the best I can.

I am going to get things started tomorrow afternoon. I got stuff to do in the morning.

Liberty's Edge

No rush. These things usually take awhile to get going.

Sovereign Court

I've finished leveling Mr McKeener. Have spacesuit, will travel...

Sovereign Court

wow the thread exploded while I was working!

I actually am big on RP, but I was slammed throughout the last module, but once my life slows down on monday I will be ready for lots of banter

Sovereign Court

farad you seem to be missing point blank shot…or a i dumb

Liberty's Edge

It's because whatever software tool he's using isn't listing his archetypes (or switching scribe scroll for spell focus). I would wager It's something like:

Divine Hunter Paladin 2
Diviner 1
Maybe Rake or Thug Rogue, but maybe core 1. Probably rake.
Dual Cursed Oracle (Tongues/Maybe haunted or consumed?) of Lore(?)
+ prestige classes

Hard to say. These are my best guesses bases off of the limited sheet and what seems logical for a character build. I would have a hard time reproducing, or effectively playing, Farak. I look forward to seeing his bag of tricks.

I'm still trying to figure out the runeforged weapon zaniness.

Sovereign Court

Yes, this should be interesting. I'll just be my boring old self (hit things until dead, rinse, repeat). But we've got the most powerful mage now, so we're set. I imagine I can just sit back and watch.

Nah, Vars really is a bit too bloodthirsty for that. Hanging around the Taldan court for as long as he has really has some built up a goodly bit of repressed anger that needs an outlet.

Obviously.

Farak, the Most Powerful Mage wrote:

I can't recommend Farak enough...for when you absolutely must have a pale shadow of the real thing, Farak will earn a tepid 'he's good enough' from many. Thorne can't be bothered to slay every young tindermage with a wand of minor image who thinks they are the greatest...he has important things to do...like summoning balls of fire into his hand!

Cereally:
PirateRob and his Farak will be a great add to this table.

Lithuan wrote:

LOL. I wrote a guide.

Lithuan wrote:

That was a *long* time ago, wasn't it JC? I think I was but lvl 4 at the time? City o' Strangers with GM GoblinBrains, right?
