When in doubt, start doing the Bat-tutsi.

Advanced Bestiary, Book of Templates: Deluxe Edition, Book of Monster Templates, 101 Not So Simple Templates. These are four essential books every GM should have available to add a dash of spice here and there to things.
I never saw BoT:Deluxe Edition.
Monsters Handbook, from Fantasy Flight Games, was the book I used to make my first template. They make cool board games, but I wish they'd Pathfinderize some of their third edition stuff.
There are some other nice-looking template books, but the one I most want to own is the one from this kickstarter. As I type this, 91.9% with 24 days to go. What's that I smell in the air? Stretch goals!!

I'd love for someone to update that as well. Does Silverthorne Games still exist?

I found the same edition from Goodman Games. Wonder if they have the rights to it; as opposed to Silverthorne?

ICV2 has a short article about the Advanced Bestiary Kickstarter!

At the very least I may get this when it goes to stores. except now I'm not sure sure. With Paizo having added some templates into their bestiaries already...ah the hell with it. If it has some new art I will get it. I may still get it just because it was and is my favorite 3.5 book.

Here is a link to their site. Has not been updated since 2010. http://silverthornegames.com/sgblog/?page_id=7 maybe asking through Goodman Games.

I could be wrong but isn't there supposed to be the BAB in the Melee listing? I think it should be +8.
Just my 2 cp.
Yeah, I just got told that was caught today. I guess I rushed the free sample. This is, of course, why I don't work as an editor. :P
Yes, it would be +8 (+3 BAB, +6 Str, -1 size).

We're funded!
And we've put out a free Cave Troll pdf (download in update 1!)
Now, on to the stretch goals!

Today's update to the Advanced Bestiary Kickstarter has another free sample monster: the Toxic Goblin! This is a level 1 goblin warrior with the poison creature template from the Advanced Bestiary applied. Enjoy!

The blood knight art looks great. Here's hoping that the goal is reached to get the book in full color. Personally, I'd rather see full color with the current amount of content as the next stretch goal but extra content is great too.

In the previous Advanced Bestiary previews, we showed you how to use templates to turn ogres, goblins, and genies into new monsters with new abilities – the Cave Ogre, Toxic Goblin, and Autumn Genie.
But the Advanced Bestiary has a lot of templates, and they do more than give you a few more options. They multiply the value of every monster book you already own, allowing you to create thousands of new monsters along hundreds of themes. You don’t get two or three new giants, you get dozens of options that be turned into hundreds of new giants! You can use as many or as few as you want, tweaking foes to make them more of a challenge if your PCs have gained levels faster than you expected, or creating whole-new threats your plans will find vaguely familiar but still surprisingly different.
So rather than show you three more templates on three more base creatures, we've gone back to the same base monsters – ogre, goblin, and genie – and used new templates to make very different end results! Even this is just the tip of the monstrous iceberg, but it’s a glimpse of the versatility the new Advanced Bestiary will offer every GM!
Check out the Herald of Ragnarok (Ogre with the Herald of the Apocalypse – War template), Darkling (Goblin with the Drowblooded template), and the Umbrated Genie (Djinn with the Demon Possessed – Shadow Demon template) for FREE in today's special preview!
We are down to five days on the Kickstarter, so anything you can do to help us boost the signal is appreciated! Let's knock down some stretch goals!

And another fantastic set of previews showing the versatility of the Advanced Bestiary...
Thanks!
We've also been putting up short blurbs with ideas how you can use the book for greater flexibility. For example:
Arbiter Inevitable + Force Creature template = Flying Force Sphere
Dragon Turtle + War Machine template = Dreadnaught Turtle
Invisible Stalker + Icy Creature template = Cold Stalker
Water elemental + Acid Creature Template = Acid Elemental
Ghost + Dream creature template = Nightmare Haunt
Earth Elemental + Fire-infused Creature template = Lava Hulk
Spirit Naga + Fortune-blessed Creature template = Fate Naga
Ochre Jelly + Mist Creature template = Ochre Cloud
And it seems to be working, since we hit our second stretch goal.
Owen K. C. Stephens Contributor |
Not only do we tout our second goal smashed, we show off a Walking Nightmare! (In full color! Seriously!)
Owen K. C. Stephens Contributor |
In case anyone missed it, Chris talked about the project a bit on the Paizo Blog today!

I asked this in another thread before it was wisely stated that maybe I should bring this here to avoid any derailment there.
Is there any estimate when the surveys with be sent out for that kickstarter? I can only assume it will be shortly before the PDFs get sent out. It's either that or something really went wrong as I never got one.
