Arcane Concordance Bard Spell from APG Question

Advice

Liberty's Edge

Does this spell also affect the caster? I have yet to play a bard in Pathfinder and am not sure how these spells work, but the description says it affects allies:

Quote:
A shimmering, blue and gold radiance surrounds you, enhancing arcane spells cast by your allies within its area. Any arcane spell cast by a creature within the area gains a +1 enhancement bonus to the DC of any saving throws against the spell, and can be cast as if one of the following metamagic feats was applied to it (without increasing the spell level or Casting Time): Enlarge Spell, Extend Spell, Silent Spell, or Still Spell (you choose the metamagic feat when you cast arcane concordance).

I would say yes.

Since the emanation centers on you, you are a "creature within the area."

And, generally, you count as your own "ally."

You count as your own ally, unless the ability states you don't or it would not make any sense

1 person marked this as a favorite.

You always count as your own ally, so yes.

Liberty's Edge

Okay. I was hoping this was the case. I'm going to Pathfinder from 4th Edition so the rules there still have me confused. If a power says "ally," then it doesn't mean you, and any burst centered on you doesn't include the center in the area of effect. I know, it doesn't really make any sense, but it's why I thought I should ask and make sure.

Thanks for the clarification. :)

welcome to the Darkside young one!

Not sure about how things go in 4th, but in PF the emanation is actually centered on a corner of your space, not on your actual space. So your space is included in the emanation.
