2 people marked this as a favorite.

I just saw this and died laughing. One of our members is a mod for another gaming forum and recently told us a few of his adventures in moderation. He shared this comic with us and it was too classic not to share with all of you.

A lot of us care very deeply about this game.

I just wanna share this as a reminder not to take ourselves too seriously. A lot of us are guilty of some of these, myself included. Just a reminder that sometimes we need to take ourselves and our opinions with a grain of salt.

Enjoy.

We Care A Lot about the forum factions fighting in the streets.

Poster 11 says the mods are "cracking down on descent".
So... They're coming down on getting down?

I liked that poster 10 had a tinfoil hat! That was my favourite of the things. :)

Poster 10 should read this article:

On the Effectiveness of Aluminium Foil Helmets:
An Empirical Study

I could assign forum names to some of the numbers. :)

Grrr! It isn't an antisociability thing that inspires desires to solo!!! It is an anti-dependency, pro-independence thing!!!11!

Forums almost compete with top comedians sometimes! That said PFO forums seem constructive at times too.

This study has obviously been secretly backed and manipulated by the Council on Foreign Relations in order to trick us into taking off our tin-foil hats so that FEMA can locate us! Then they will Martial Law us into the HAARP program and we will all become slaves of the Bilderburg Group!

Gotta love the necro # 15, who is always followed by #16, the guy who posts an angry response to the OP about why he's wrong without realizing that the OP is a year old and the problem's already been resolved.

Conspiracy Theory is big business here in the States. It seems like a handful of folks leading an empassioned charge against the machine, but really there is so much more money and media behind it than most folks realize. If you can get away with not taking it too seriously, there is some entertainment value to be had.

We have lots of Conspiracy theorys too in Europe. Mainly about America spying on our communications.

My fellow compatriots are just naive. Frenchs were actually surprised. Meself, I'm a pragmatic realist. And it'd be stupid to hold that against y'all.

this plays a big role in the extreme measures of many a messageboard debate as well.

Can you fix the link?

Goblin Squad Member

America is. Probably China and Russia too so much as they can get away with it. As well as other European countries.

If a nation has the ability to spy, they probably are. And national governments know it and try to direct it away from the most sensitive stuff. They only really throw a big to-do and outrage about it when the broader public finds out, because they have to put on a show.

This is all speculation, but it seems plausible to me.

Are you implying that the ridiculously-high-budget intelligence gathering agencies with top secret activities don't just get their information from reading news sites and following Twitter accounts?

Goblin Squad Member

Oh, they follow twitter accounts alright! #weprobablyreaditbeforeyourfriendsdo

Wow... I can just picture some manufacturer of vinegar laughing maniacally and counting his money.

"Now, it takes a while for them to break up but it does go away."

This is good stuff, Keovar.

Well, being german; i´m a bit ambivalent, either our counter-espionage service let their us(and uk)-coleagues do what do wanted to do and ... forget about it - OR - they really didn´t get what was goin on.

still no sure which i´d find worse.

on the other hand, we knew THEY are watching us for some time.

The last one by Steve Shives is part of a series that's been running for a couple of years now.

This link should take you to the beginning of a run of episodes about various conspiracy claims, but he'll also do 5 Stupid Things About... episodes for things he mostly enjoys, like Superman.
