Multi-class cavalier and "catching up" the mount

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

I know that there is a trait (Magical Knack) that lets you increase your caster level by 2 up to your hit dice. Is there a feat or trait that lets you do something similar for a multi-class cavalier's mount? Anything for any variation of animal companion (druid, paladin, etc.)?

Thanks

There are a few options:
-Boon companion works for ALL animal companions, giving you +4 to your effective druid level, up to your max HD

-Horse master allows you to use your HD as your effective druid level, with certain limits: you need the expert trainer ability. Which requires at least 4 levels of cavalier, and that you be restrained to traditional mounts (unless you are a half-orc, who can gain access to the "beastial mounts" feature). This is, as far as I know, the best option.

Thanks! Two questions:
* There are no traits that help with this?
* I'm not seeing a restriction on what horsemaster works with http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/horse-master-combat. But I do remember thinking it wouldn't help the character I was working on (halfling).

I'm working on a halfling fighter 1/cavalier X, so no horses...

Thanks again!

Horse master works with all "mounts", so horse/pony/wolf/boar/dog... as far as I know. So you could take a wolf. I've got a halfling cavalier myself for PFS

I havent noticed any traits related to the subject though. And the half-orc feat I mentionned earlier is in fact "beast rider".

Is this PFS? If not, you could try convincing your GM to allow a trait to give a +2 effective druid level for animal companions (nonstacking with Boon Companion). It would be a typical half-feat trait.
