November is MO-VEMBER for Goblinworks and the GoblinSquad!

We've created a team page for the GoblinSquad in support of Mo-vember.

http://moteam.co/goblinsquad

Mo-vember raises awareness of prostate cancer. The girls have their pink ribbons and endless walks to protect the boobies. Guys, this is your chance to show your support for the fathers, brothers and friends who are fighting this terrible disease, and to help fund the research that could lead to a cure.

The centerpiece of the campaign is letting your mustache grow. Down under, the 'stache is commonly called a "Mo", so to show your support for this cause, make November MO-VEMBER!

If you want to learn more about the origins of Mo-vember, here's a great TED Talk by the founder.

We'd like to see as many folks as possible join our team, grow some amazing "Mos", and raise some money for a great charity.

I'm in.... My union and school participate a great deal in all of these "awareness" months and it would be great to grow the mustache back in!

Goblin Squad Member

It's my first time participating so I was all proud to get to work with my mo this morning. Apparently, there's a set of rules to follow and you're supposed to be completely shaved on day one. I've been called a cheat a few times today, lol!

All that to say that 1. I'm already in a team and 2. it sure is funny!

Just made a donation. :P

Goblin Squad Member

I think I made a donation to myself, how do i transfer it to Goblin Squad. But then my donation amount was included in the Goblin Squad total????

Is Healthcare.gov running that site???

Goblin Squad Member

Trying to get spousal approval for this... and yes, I have to get spousal approval.

Ditto. And yes, ditto.

Also trying to get spousal approval to grow the Mo :)

Made a donation myself. I think we need some commemorative art of a Pathfinder goblin with a mustache.

Wayne Reynolds, we need a goblin with the most ridiculously excessively dramatically overdone mustache. Make it so!

Mantic has that covered in the miniature world...

Thanks to everyone who donated and joined the GoblinSquad MOVEMBER team yesterday! We're off to a great start!

I get a lot of special commercial offers and normally I wouldn't put any of them here on the forums, but this relates to our Movember initiative so I thought it would be appropriate.

Dollar Shave Club is a company that sends razors, blades and shaving essentials to subscribers. It's a pretty good deal in its own right and the video that launched the Club is one of the best pieces of marketing I've seen in years.

I received notice from Dollar Shave Club that this month they will make a $5 donation to the Movember cause for every new subscriber.

There's a referral code & promotional code embedded in this link!

(Full disclosure, the referrer code gets me a $5 credit; I wish there were a way to separate the two promotions to just generate the donation but that doesn't seem to be an option.)

If you're a person who has a Mo, or doesn't but would if you didn't shave, you might find the Dollar Shave Club to be a great deal on its own right, and it joining generates a donation to the cause of fighting for Men's Health.

Maybe that could become an annual in game event that comes around every Mo-vember. A cash shop item you can wear (long mustache) but the cash shop funds raised go to the fight against cancer. Great PR marketing guy! "Pathfinder Online raised $10,000 in November 2015 by selling cartoon mustaches to animated avatars!" (It'd have to be more than $2.3 million to break the old MMO* fundraising record, but it'd be a blast to see!)

*WoW raised $2.3 million for Hurricane Sandy, and $1.9 million for Tsunami relief by selling in game pets.

This would be a really cool way to fundraise!

Can female dwarfs compete in MO? Or do they only have beards.

I will look into joining and donating, but I have an unfair MO advantage. 8 months head start.

My dad, who is 85, had prostate cancer, but is still hanging in there. His prostate didn't make it but he did, and is still cutting his own grass and driving around to see us kids and grandkids. My eldest sister has a full left side mastectomy, but her cancer is in remission and she is doing pretty well (got her hair back at least!). Diseases that hit close to home deserve to be beaten down severely.

I may sign up for Mo-Vember, but most of my support goes to Childhood Cancer Research.

I have done the head shaving for St. Baldricks along with other events.

I lost my son in January to a rare form of childhood cancer and afterwards have done what I can to help out research.

Childhood Cancer Research is the least funded in the US. My wife even went to DC to talk with Senators and Congressmen (had appointments) and basically was blown off by them.

Hell, even during Childhood Cancer awareness month of September the White House was flying a pink Ribbon flag instead of Gold.

Xeen,

I am really sorry to hear about your son. My heartfelt condolences.

I am just so overwhelmed and humbled. We didn't just reach $300 today. We blew that number AWAY. We're now at four hundred fifty dollars. Holy smoke!

Sorry I was slow getting to this thread, and that I couldn't do more. There's that typhoon to help with too, so I had to divide my focus.
