Pathfinder Pawns PDF

Accessories

I'm very interested in picking up the Pathfinder Pawns PDFs and I will be starting a new online campaign soon and would like to have some Pathfinder styled tokens (it doesn't feel right not having big headed goblins!).

My concern is that the PDFs might still contain the cut marks from the card versions making their use as tokens harder.
There doesn't seem to be a PDF preview on the store (something which might be worth considering) so I was wondering if anyone who has purchased the PDF or a Paizo staff member could let me know if the PDF files contain cut marks for pawns or are just plain white pages with images.

I just checked the bestiary two box and yes - there are cut marks around the images. I've never looked at the PDF before, so can't absolutely guarantee its true for the other sets. I can't imagine why they'd be any different though.

Thanks for the answer.
I just picked up the Rise of the Runelords pawns PDF as a test as it was cheaper (and the campaign I'm running)and yeah they all have orange cut boarders through the images.

I can work with some of them but it's going to be a PITA editing the ones with the marks in them.
If any Paizo staff happen to read this I would love to suggest having a feature like the interactive maps with the pawns PDFs to disable the cut marks letting it double as an art download.

There are die lines on the Pawns PDFs, however, you should be able to individually select the images to copy and paste into your preferred image editing program without too much issue. The images themselves are separate from the die lines in the PDF file layout.

I was actually having issues doing that as I would copy the image and when pasting into Photoshop end up with a black background.

Did some snooping around and found this thread.

Nitro reader solved all my issues with the black backgrounds. :)

I once bought the Bestiary Box for online use, but unfortunately found it useless.

This is bcause the images files are not consistent in pixel size when compared to creature size (small/medium/large....). Thus it takes just as much time to make tokens from this PDF, as it does by using the Bestiary PDF. The only difference is that the latter is much cheaper to buy.

If you are going to print it, then the PDF is great.

*edit. The irregularly sized images could perhaps be fixed by making the canvas size consistent for the same creature size using a script or other batch processing utility.

Has anyone who prints these out come up with a solution for using them with the pawn bases. I feel I'll get more for my money with the pdf of the bestiary (I sold the physical copy to some friends) because I can always just print what I need. However, cardstock paper doesn't really go into the pawn bases with just one sheet of width. Any suggestions. I have yet to purchase the pdf of any of them because I'm trying to determine a solution to this issue before I do.

The key is that only the very bottom has to fit. I take a small scrap of cardstock, about the height of the channel on the top of the base where you insert the pawn, fold it in half (or thirds if it's small-enough cardstock), and glue it along the bottom edge of the printed pawn. This gives the bottom enough thickness to fit snugly.

EDIT: This picture might help show what I'm doing.

I had actually considered that. In your picture it appears you have the pawns front and back folded over like the pathfinder paper minis. I was under the impression that the Pawns were all one page and the next page in the list was their backside so you could glue them together. Am I wrong? And thank you for the image!
