Does Animal Ally give extra AC options if you latter pick up an AC by class feature

Ignoring the whole "it doesn't say you still qualify if you no longer meet the requirements despite noting what changes in the benefits if you no longer qualify" (that's another thread)...

Animal Ally lets you pick from "badger, bird, camel, cat (small), dire rat, dog, horse, pony, snake (viper), or wolf.". Many AC granting classes are restricted even further (generally to horse/camel/dog/pony/wolf). Can a character that has a small cat companion from this feat continue using small cats if he takes a level in Cavalier?

nope.

the FAQ precident is you stack only from the most restrictive list.

so if you're ranger/druid and you want your levels to stack, you have to select from an animal that's on both lists ( aka, ranger list )

if you take animal ally for small cat, and take levels in cavalier, they won't stack because the animal isn't on both lists. ( but won't your small cat advance from Character Level anyway? )

you'd gain a second animal companion ( a mount ) , from cavalier.

if you'd chosen Horse from Animal Ally, they'd stack, likely to a max of your character level anyway... so there wouldn't be much point?
