2handed fighter, overhand chop and backswing

Rules Questions

When you read them together, its a logical conclusion that once you get backswing, all your attacks recieve double damage bonus.

however if you read them individually...sounds like overhand chop is only if you make one swing...like with vital strike, or as a standard action.

so wich is it?

Overhand Chop only applies to single attacks, and Backswing only applies to Full Attacks. You would not get double-bonus in the first attack of a Full Attack.

what Brf say is totally correct.

As I was gathering sources I was Ninja'd :l
Anyways Brf is Right Overhand Chop is only on Single Attacks
Backswing only applys on full attacks

Overhand Chop:
Overhand Chop (Ex)

At 3rd level, when a two-handed fighter makes a single attack (with the attack action or a charge) with a two-handed weapon, he adds double his Strength bonus on damage rolls.

This ability replaces Armor Training 1.

Backswing:
Backswing (Ex)

At 7th level, when a two-handed fighter makes a full-attack with a two-handed weapon, he adds double his Strength bonus on damage rolls for all attacks after the first.

This ability replaces Armor Training 2.

Yep what Brf is saying is correct.

This has been discussed in detail many times, but here's the thread I always point people to when they are curious. The link is to Jason Nelson's official comment (he's the one who wrote these two abilities).

interesting, and thanks!
