Sorry guys, I think this one has run it's course.
Do we call it quits? We had a very good run.
Who is still on?

I'm around, but you are probably right. I think you would have an uphill battle getting momentum again.
Done or not, I appreciate the work you've put into this Cosario. You're good people.
Tarina |
Honestly I've been contemplating dropping this campaign for awhile, I'm losing interest in my characters and now my injuries aren't making things easier.
It was good while it lasted, but I don't think I have it in me to go on.

I have to say I learned a lot, and you did some good roleplaying, and great battles!
I'll make a lessons learned post later...

Disclamer: This is only my opinions, your mileage may vary.
Lessons Learned:
- It is possible to have a many players / many characters / high level campaign going. Good players can manage it.
- The power and versatility of such a group let them tackle very high level challenges.
- The Mythic Rules give a extra "boost" of power. I like it very much.
- It is always a possibility to lose characters on the way. There should be a way to include new characters.
- Character Rotation makes integrating the plots-points from the characters into the campaign as a whole a risky proposition.
- Keep the pace is very important, and very hard to do on the long run.
- Character support is very important to help the DM in "hard spots"
- Kingmaker is a poor Adventure Path for a PbP campaign. It is better to have a more "structured" campaign, so it is easier to move "forward", an important need in PbP campaigns.
- Or getting rid of the "backstory" of Kingmaker and make it a complete Sandbox game?
Well, I think that is it.
I had a great time Dming this one, and I hope you got a great time too.
Hope we see ourselves around from time to time.
I will "inactivate" the campaign soon.
Any feedback, here or by Private Message, will be vary appreciated.

I totally agree on your first 7 points.
Regarding the last two points....
Kingmaker is difficult to keep moving forward.
This is what I do in mine for every decision the party needs to make. (everything... which hex next, left or right, death or mercy, etc.)
One proposes, second confirms.
If no opposition, it stands. (opposition = in gameplay or a "hey wait!" in discussion)
If someone does oppose, they need +1 to "reverse the decision". (one more vote than the proposer has.)
(with this siderule)
For Kingdom decisions clearly a part of a PC's leadership role, said PC gets 2 bonus votes (opposition would need +3 to override or reverse the leader's decision.)
It might seem complex, but having a decision-making system seriously helps things move along AND keeps everyone involved because they know the efficacy of their opinion.
---
Also when deviating from the module in a major way, making clear "what the game is" is important.
I "learned" the following from my first screenwriting class....
When crafting a joke, you want the audience to have expectations, then deliver something else (just the twist).
When crafting a story, you want the audience to have expectations, then deliver something else PLUS deliver what they were expecting (twist plus satisfying expectations).
Running a Kingmaker where "nothing will be as you would expect" is a tough one to prepare for as a player.
That said, I am genuinely impressed how well you were able to keep things interesting (and compelling) - you've got some serious creative mojo, bud.

I will, I just wanted to tell you about what I had in mind for your characters...
Danath Orlovsky and Seraph Whitemoor
As only Danath knew, Seraph was really Elizabeth Rogarvia, last heir of Choral the Conqueror, and the rightful heir to the Dragonscale Throne. A completely evil woman, was to be "saved" by Danath an turn out to rally all of Brevoy against Choral when he returned, to finally become queen of Brevoy.
And be forever away from Danath. He would save her, but lost her in the process. Sweet Tragedy.
Venetia and Tarina Medvyed
Similar thing... Tarina would become instrumental in defeating Nyrissa, and in the process would become an avatar of Arshea.
Venetia would loss her daughter, while becoming the Queen of the Sloboda federation.
But... her sword would store part of Nyrissa's soul! It would become a legendary weapon bent on revenge against the First World ruler's, the Eldest themselves!
Arv Akul'mar and Mulray Gasparo
After causing the Sloboda-Pitax war Arv would become the elegant and illustrated king of Pitax, taking the kingdom into a golden age. Mulray would become the king of the underworld of all the Brevoy-Sloboda-Pitax-Mivon area...
Janus Sevenstar and Neji Lazula
If I am sorry for something is missing the last fight of Janus against Marius du'Caat. It would have been epic.
He would have saved her mother, releasing her soul, and becoming the king of his Kingdom, around the old Erastil temple.
Not sure what would have happened to his faith, if he would have become an Arshea follower or remain an Erastil one.
Neji would have married into the Leventon's family, and created a new Gnome haven kingdom in the area more close to the First World. A place for the gnomes affected with the bleaching to get better, while leading "expeditions" for exploring the first world.
Ni'Tir and Xi'Tir
The sisters would have become "queens" ofher own kingdom next to Numeria, a refuge for escaping androids from that land. They would have needed to go to Starfall to defeat the Technic League and free from slavery the androids.
Szymon Wojcik and Tatiana Fortuna
Tatiana would have become the beloved queen of the "Trivium" kingdom, while Szymon would have become king of Mivon, after beating the current king in a duel, and making peace in that land, specially with Brevoy.
I had also imagined a foray into the worldwound, a war against Razmiran, and the diplomacy to unite all of the river kingdoms (including Brevoy) into the Sloboda Federation.

I had a great time, I hope you did too.
