So I saw a recent thread where someone wanted to make a PF Sarishian Binder. I really like Arcanis as a 3.0/3.5 setting, but haven't played it under the new Paradigm designed rules. So, mostly as a mental exercise to pass time enjoyably, I figured I could create PF Arcanis races. Feel free to comment, make suggestions, critique, etc.

Starting with......Elorii.
Elorii are Arcanis elves, but that doesn't tell you much about them. Magically created as a warrior-slave race, the Elorii are infused with elemental energy. Each subrace represents one of the traditional elements, plus a fifth subrace that embodies the spirit of the natural world.

Berokene, children of Beros, the Lord of Water

Spoiler:

Humaoid (Elorii, Aquatic)
Medium Size
30' speed, 30' Swim
+2 Dex, +2 Wis, -2 Int
Common, Elorii
+2 vs Mind-affecting and Disease
Amphibious
Martial proficiency with Scimitar and all Bows
Low-light vision
Elemental Affinity (Water)
+2 to Balance

11 RP
Alt Feature
Lord of the Waves
The effects of the Elemental Affinity trait applies to the Aquatic (normal and Seaborn) bloodlines instead of Water. Modifies Elemental Affinity.

Kelekene, children of Keleos, Lord of Fire

Spoiler:

Humaoid (Elorii)
Medium Size
40' speed
+2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 Wis
Common, Elorii

Martial proficiency with Scimitar and all Bows
Low-light vision
Elemental Affinity (Fire)
Improved Initiative bonus feat
+2 to Intimidate

10 RP
Alt Feature
Pyromaniac
+1 CL with the fire descriptor, using granted
powers of the Fire domain, using bloodline powers
of the fire elemental bloodline, using the revelations
of the oracle’s f lame mystery, and determining the
damage of alchemist bombs that deal f ire damage. This
trait does not give members of this race early access to
level-based powers; it only affects powers that they could
already use without this trait. If a member of this race
has a Charisma score of 11 or higher, it also gains the
following spell-like abilities: 1/day—dancing lights, f lare,
prestidigitation, produce f lame. The caster level for these
spell-like abilities is equal to the user’s character level. Replaces Elemental Affinity.

Marokene, children of Marok, Lord of Earth

Spoiler:

Humaoid (Elorii)
Medium Size
30' speed
+2 Str, +2 Wis, -2 Cha
Common, Elorii
+2 vs Mind-affecting and Disease
Martial proficiency with Bastard sword and all Bows
Darkvision 60'
Elemental Affinity (Earth)
+2 to Perception

8 RP
Alt Feature
Stonesinger
+1 CL with the earth descriptor or using powers
of the Earth domain, bloodline powers of the earth
elemental bloodline, and revelations of the oracle’s stone
mystery. Replaces Elemental Affinity.

Osalikene, children of Osalios, Lord of Air

Spoiler:

Humaoid (Elorii)

The effects of Elemental Affinity apply to the Stormborn bloodline instead of Air. Modifies Elemental Affinity.

Ardakene, children of Belisarda, the Life Giver

Spoiler:

Humaoid (Elorii)
Medium Size
30' speed
+2 Wis, +2 Cha, -2 Con
Common, Elorii
+2 vs Mind-affecting and Disease
+2 vs Death effects, negative energy, remove negative levels, stabilization checks
Martial proficiency with Scimitar and all Bows
Low-light vision
Fertile Soil
+2 to Survival

11 RP
Alt Feature

The effects of the Fertile Soil trait apply to the Sylvan version of the Fey Bloodline. Modifies Fertile Soil.

Next up, Val!

The val are the descendants of the Pantheon of Man's direct celestial servants, charged with shepherding and protecting humanity. Similar to aasimar, the val derive divine power from their ancestry. Each family of val descend from the servants of one of the gods, and bloodline and status are important to them.

Alt Feature
Awakened
In place of Bloodline bonus feats, the val may take Wild Talent (1st), Unlocked Talent (8th), and Access Psionic Talent (16th). This replaces Bloodline.

Val Families and associated Bloodlines

Spoiler:

Major Families
val'Abebi Descended from Altheres, god of Knowledge and Craft, are blessed with the Kobold and Sage bloodlines.

val'Assante The family of Illiir, Bringer of Light and Lord of Perfection, work to emulate the King of the Gods. Their bloodlines are Celestial and Imperious.

val'Borda Dark Cadic, Master of Darkness, bestows the Shadow, Umbral, and Maestro bloodlines.

val'Dellenov The Green Mother, Saluwe', mothered this line of val. There connections to nature contain the Elemental (Earth), Verdant, Shaitan, Sylvan, and Groveborn bloodlines.

val'Holryn It is unknown from which god the val'Holryn family stems, and there is not associated bloodline for the family. Rather, each val'Holryn must select one of the bloodlines associated with a different val family.

val'Inares The children of Anshar, the Far Traveling and Weeping Goddess, come in a curious mix. The Martyr and Starsoul bloodlines are most common, but rarely the Serpentine and Envenomed bloodlines are found among its members.

val'Sheem Sons and daughters of Larissa, the Divine Harlot and Oracle of the Gods. Dreamspun, Visionary, Destined and Karmic bloodlines are all exhibited by these seers and whores.

val'Tensen Stalwarts of Hurrian, the Reluctant Warrior and General of the Gods. Despite his reluctance to resort to violence, the Orc bloodline embodies his rage once moved to battle. The Elemental (Air), Stormborn, Djinni, and Arial bloodlines represent his aspect as the Thunderer.

val'Virdan Scions of Nier, the Lord of Flaming Destruction and the Ultimate Warrior. Draconic or Linnorm (fire), Efreeti, and Elemental (fire)are available for these purveyors of destruction through sword and flame.

Other, smaller, Minor families also exist, usually having access to only one bloodline.

Sovereign Court

Added to favorites.

If only they had not shot themùselves in the foot leaving D&D/3.5 ...

Sigh !

I really loved Living Arcanis and the convoluted political plots.

Dark-kin up next!

Dark-kin are the descendants of mortal-fiend couplings, most of which happened during the Time of Troubles. Dark-kin are the result of such pairings in the distant past, and the family they are born into may not even be aware of the Taint in their family tree until one is born.

I think the Lizardfolk stats in the ARG are a good starting point for the Black Talon Ss'ressen.

Previously soldiers in the Ssethregoran Empire of the southern swamps, they escaped this bondage when their Matron Mother experienced a divine vision leading her to move her tribe to a new home and ally with the humans of the area. The humans got the military service of these natural-born soldiers, and the ss'ressen got a new home in a swamp the humans couldn't inhabit anyway.

Black Talon Ss'ressen

Spoiler:

Humanoid (Reptilian)
Medium size
30' speed, Swim 30'
+2 Dex, +2 Con
Common, Draconic
Natural Armor +2
2 claws 1d4
+2 Acrobatics
Hold Breath 4x Con score

12 RP

Alt Feature
Ashen Hide- A splinter group of Black Talon fled their tribes home in the swamp to make their homes in volcanic mountain caverns.
Natural Armor +3, modifies Natural Armor, replaces Swim.
Fire resistance 5, replaces Hold Breath.

Ghost Scale- Another splinter group of the Black Talon. These chameleonic lizardfolk broke faith with the rest of the tribe on the migration to their new home. Surviving in sewers, they are hunters of men.
Blend at will, replaces Skill bonus

hey, nice work overall, I was a big fan of arcanis even though I only had a pretty limited exposure to the setting early in my gaming career. The one thing I don't think you did justice to is the val bloodlines. Instead of just giving them eldritch heritage or meager psionics I think you should have simply updated the bloodlines as they were. They all had a very distinct flavor and situational usefulness. While mages could get the same powers thru use of spells, I think eldritch heritage makes it seem a little too mainstream and easy to get non val that have exactly the same abilities in seemingly the same way.

I was a big fan of Arcanis and was active in Living Arcanis for a time.

Some good times.

Keep up the good work.
