Hunter has been growing on me...his annoying attempts to be "helpful" in an earlier episode and then this episode's "hacker supreme" bit have made him a cool comedic foil for the otherwise pretty serious show.

Can't believe it took me 2 days to realize this but

How does he know about Simmons?

It's not like Shield has a Blog page saying "one of our top scientists got sucked into a portal to a hell world, but it's ok we got her back"

Looks like Coulson's shiny new SHIELD still has some rats in it.

I was wondering the same thing

I think I can help with that. Remember, before Ros knew that Gideon was Hydra, she and phil communicated a lot. Especially when they probably talked about what happened with Simmons. So I'm guessing she probably told
Gideon.

Niles,

I think the comedy happens regardless of what role Hunter plays. But yes it has been more coming down on/from Hunter.

I was wondering the same thing about how does he know about Simmons.

Re-watching Winter Soldier, one notices the absence of Mr. Booth's character from the summoned SHIELD council critters that had '2 inch holes burned into their sternums'.

Unless I miss my guess, haven't the protagonists failed to relocate their HQ? Very strong chance of infiltration after so many have come to know where they were/are...

I think Shield is working out of one of Nick Fury's secret bunkers after the Treskwlion was compromised. And they can't be working out of their original base because they are no longer a legitimate organization and Talbot would have dismantled that area by now.

Set's the same, or very nearly so. Guessing Fury used 1 interior decorator. ;)

There've been enough bad guys in and out of the new place ...

*is still pretty sure Roz told Gideon that Simmons came back*

Also I don't think there's a spy in the org since they've changed locations.

The Exchange

Finally a good action scene in episode 8! slightly sceptic about a silver food tray blocking bullets from close range but still a sweet well shot fight.

Plus, the plot went in a really interesting direction.

I think this season is finally starting to seriously gather momentum.

My understanding was that their current 'base' was the ridiculously large plane that the 'bus' sized planes land on.

As to 'Hydra' having a mole in SHIELD because they know about Simmons... note that they do not know HOW she was rescued. That pretty much rules out any of the major characters being a Hydra mole. Anyone in the base could see that she is back and likely have known that she had been lost through the portal, but details of the recovery may not have spread far.

Alternatively, the Inhuman on the other planet may have some way of communicating with Hydra.

Yes, this is one of several (implied) secret bases Fury had at his disposal. I keep wondering if this might also be the base where Coulson had Theta Protocol going. That hanger might be big enough to hold a helicarrier.

I think the writers will probably eventually put one in, when it's most convenient to the story.

I am disappointed that the creature on the planet is a inhuman.

Dragon78,

I'm not sure I'm disappointed. Would I have liked it to have been Ego wandering around? Maybe. But Inhuman arch villain is fine too.

It also saves on the TV budget....

They have a network of secret bases in addition to the superjet. that is more like a mobile base of operations than something permanent.

Guessing SHIELD has their own jet fuel facilities that escaped confiscation. ;)

Project Theta was in Europe (Other SHIELD mentioned large sums of money being directed to Europe), while their base currently is East Coast of U.S. somewhere.

Thanks for the reminder. The big hanger at the current base had me unsure.

This was a really good episode. Looking forward to the tangled skein playing out over the rest of the season.

I think there are only 2 or 3 episodes left before the midseason break starts. (Agent Carter season 2 starts on January 2nd and runs for 10 episodes.) We probably should expect some big cliffhanger coming up.

I'm guessing Ego won't show up on AoS because it is already supposed to show up in

Spoiler:
the November 28th episode of Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon on DisneyXD.

Considering the Fish-oil is a major source of the superpowers right now, there is a distinct absense of old ladies with super powers.

I'm sure there are old ladies with powers, but their life experience is enough they're able to not freak out and cause a scene. Either than or they're senile enough to not notice.

It does help explain why lots of the people with powers are in good physical shape, since they're more into health and taking fish oil supplements.

There is a criminal absence of Agent Roenigs. We need more of the 13 brothers.

Catching up on AoS, the only thng that kept going through my head in Episode 6 was:

Spoiler:
Phil should have hired Leverage Consulting & Associates. That was the least professional job I've seen in ages.

Yes, I have been binge watching Leverage, why?

Leverage is a good show.

Could have used more seasons.

So who is HYDRA trying to bring back that's been gone for 3000 years? who in Marvel lore is that old?

Edit: without going into the cosmic beings stuff, who is older than Exodus (1000 years old) but younger than Apocalypse (5000 years old)? If HYDRA was founded to bring back the "first inhuman", then it might not be completely out of question that this could be that guy, which could lead to an Inhuman movie where Black Bolt and his royal family ascend to the throne of the Inhumans in lieu of the said primordial douche...

PD Knight,

The Unspoken could be that old. No one is sure how old any of them truly are. I mean even on the sliding time scale, Black Bolt got to be what, 50 now?

Ambrosia Slaad,

Just because a cartoon has it doesn't mean that it won't appear some where in live action.

HELL Ego could show up in Guardians Volume 2!

From one of my previous posts....

Spoiler:
My theory - either Randac, the inhuman geneticist who discovered the terrigen mists and gained mental powers from exposure to them, or The Unspoken - one of their former rulers who was banished. Per Wikipedia, The Unspoken had the power of "Terrigenesis," the ability to alter his body into any form he wished. Both would make sense, especially with what we saw of this Inhuman during the Simmons exile episode.

Sovereign Court

If it's the Unspoken, I'm kinda scratching my head as to why he's offing the HYDRA astronauts instead of helping them reopen the portal...

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't he deposed and exiled by Blackbolt and the rest for being too nice?

The old biddies that don't develop some degree of 'regeneration' probably kick the bucket. ;)

That's actually my take, the transformation is traumatic - most people past a certain age probably just don't survive the process even if they are among the few with inhuman DNA.

or Terrigen doesn't work on people past a certain period of development.

Imagine a sweet old lady gets attacked by some gangbangers. She throws one through a nearby wall, lifts a car and plows the others with it. Then picks up her cane and continues on her way humming a melody from the 50s

I want to see Betty White cast as Agatha Harkness in the Dr Strange movie.

It'd be awesome, but I don't know if she is considered a Fantastic Four character, if so Marvel might not have the rights to use her.

Liberty's Edge

I think she's more associated with Wanda and the Avengers than the Fantastic Four, but, yeah, Fox may have the rights and it's obvious they consider holding those rights more important than making money.

Sovereign Court

MCU needs to use some of those millions they're making to sic more lawyers at whoever still has a Marvel character license (X-Men and FF should return to the fold for some true epicness down the road...)

I want Avengers Beast dammit.

Sovereign Court

...on a related note, I heard rumors they're scrapping the FF sequel, 'cause it tanked so bad...

Sovereign Court

Imagine this:

"Yeah, we can't use Yoda 'cause it's owned by Fox"
"Can we use Chewbacca?"
"Sure as long as we don't touch his homeworld 'cause Yoda went there once."
"What about that scene on the glacier?"
"Yeahh... Hoth is 100% no-no, Sony has it"
"F~&#!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Sovereign Court

X-men don't fit in the MCU at all.

I am fine with no X-men...really it's just Fantastic Four that I think would be nice to see brought over into the MCU. They fit better their than they do with the X-men anyway.
