I guess that's possible.

The others didn't leave much behind but fine dust (Skye in particular exploding out of her chrysalis), and not body part shaped remnants, like was left behind of Agent Triplett and the leg-shaped bits in the kitchen I vaguely recall. Eh. Maybe people who aren't Skye and Raina leave behind body part shaped bits.

Or I could be totally misremembering and the stuff I saw wasn't 'body part shaped bits.' As seems to be normal for this century, I was doing six things at once, and it's entirely possible I wasn't giving any of them 100%. :)

Skye's chrysalis exploded because she exploded it.

Thoughts on last night....

Spoiler:
I loved seeing Peter MacNicol again. He's a fun actor, and underrated in my opinion. Here's hoping they bring him around maybe once a season.

I'm glad they resolved the whole Simmons on another world thing and got her back. I did think the retrieval scene was a bit too overly dramatic. I liked the way she woke from sleep with her little shiv, then got down on the floor with Fitz. I like those two as a couple. And it'll be interesting to see how Simmons' time on the alien world affects her and her relationship with Fitz. I also look forward to seeing what she knowledge of that other world (and its inhabitants) she can share.

I look forward to maybe some more things about whomever that mysterious group was in the past, with the monolith in the castle. Maybe a precursor to Shield, or even Hydra.

Speaking of Hydra, I loved the parts with Ward in rebuild mode. The scene with the car was excellent. What I liked about it was all the Hydra agents just standing there while he drove the car through. It brought back to me what I always thought of Hydra - high tech evil organization with heavy doses of cult devotion. And then there was the kid from Unbreakable as Werner von Strucker! Awesome! I always think, if you're going to have Hydra, you've got to have a Strucker involved somewhere. And that little touch near the end, of him going undercover near may's husband - classic Ward maneuver. I look forward to seeing what else that psycho has in store.

Lastly....WOOT!!!! James Hong for the WIN!!!!

One part I like about it is that Daisy is such a non-television name. :)

Gotta wonder if her experience is going to amp up that whole alien xenophobia Simmons was building last season or if it will bring her down a little.

and I really want to see May in a room with both her parents at the same time.

it would be epic

I liked the little bit about how Coulson made sure to take the SHIELD logo off all their vans.

I was disappointed that we didn't see more of the alien world. Apparently, it's got dust storms, and that's it.

I thought for sure there'd be some time compression going on, and that British guy from the 1830s would find Simmons and show her the ropes about how to survive there. After a few episodes of that, Fitz would rescue both of them, and suddenly have competition for Simmons' affections.

But I guess not.

Yeah, a bit bummed as well they didn't showcase more of the alien world. I'm hoping though, that with Elliot Randolph talking so much about investigating portals, maybe they'll find another one. Then Simmons can lead a team of folks through to investigate. Maybe bring along a few guys wearing red shirts....just in case.

And, of course, there's always flashbacks and dream sequences.

I wouldn't write off British guy from the good old days just yet... someone was hunting her, hence the shiv... oh, and she's British too... so maybe she saw her great grandfather there, and he's now a mutated kill-machine... with a BRITISH ACCENT!

Still likely to be some sort of time compression or something, because Jemma was gone for a long time, and the girl they brought back did not have the 'rather a bit dead' look I would expect from someone who hasn't had anything to eat or drink for several months. Then again, her knife clutching and running away scenes suggest that she met some unfriendlies, and perhaps spent some time as a captive (and got fed and watered and turned towards the light during that captivity).

True. I imagine the shiv was less for other humanoids and more hideous wild beasts anyway.

If you've been starving for let's say, 13 days... that vastness tends to shrink proportional to your stomach's size...

I really suspect I would die before surviving through cannibalism, but not due to any strength of moral fiber.

I think I'd foolishly remain nauseous and sickened by the prospect long enough to become too weak for it to remain an option. Oh, I'd get to the point where I'd try, but doubt I could keep it down, so I'd be that much weaker after each attempt.

I'm not one of the "fittest." :/

I don't like Word in this episode. It feels like his old ambiguous self is gone in favor of a vanilla, one-liners spouting villain. Then again, maybe he's just adopting a new persona...

So you're saying Ward has a youthful ward being groomed as the new Ward going fore-ward? :)

I think Ward's given up on trying to be the hero, so he's switched to being the supervillain to maintain some, desperate, twisted connection to the old team and to 'do good' by cleaning up Hydra and focusing it on pie in the sky world dominance plots rather than profitable (but damaging to regular people) criminal activities.

I was fine with Ward...I mean he has always been a sociopath, we just didn't realize it until post Hydra reveal. With his creepy obsession over Daisy over, and Agent 31 dead, there really is no reason to even pretend he is something else anymore.

This is an excellent description of Ward.

It's possible, I know it's a popular belief, but it doesn't quite feel right to me. Something like Scourge of the Underworld feels more fitting.

Technically only the Super Skrull is entailed in that license, the Skrulls as a species are still with Marvel according to Kevin Feige.

As reviled as some superhero movies are, I find that I can watch Daredevil and Green Lantern again, and they are decent popcorn flicks.

Any of Nolan's turgid overwrought (and vastly more popular and financially successful) Batman stuff? Not even five minutes in and I'm back to watching music videos on youtube. So deadly dull.

Still, not expecting a Fantastic Four sequel any time soon. It will be relaunched, if anything, in five years or so.

The Inhumans movie being pushed back, if that rumor's true, seems odd. Agents of SHIELD has been pimping them for a season already, and it's going to 2019 before they appear on the big screen? Can Agents of SHIELD stay Inhuman-focused to set up for that movie for four more years? Will Agents of SHIELD even be on-screen in four more years? Seems like somewhere a gun was jumped...
