I'm collecting a list of PFS scenarios that feature strong female NPCs outside the venture captains. What are your favorites?

1/5

Cyphermage Dilemna

Spoiler:
The BBEG is a pretty scary female Vishkanya Magus and the peg-legged female dwarf ex-captain can be played to great effect as well as a PC ally.

Grand Lodge 5/5

Anything featuring Miss Feathers*

*:
(City of Strangers 1 and 2, Feast of Sigils), assuming your GM is mature enough to roleplay the situation well and not treat her like a sideshow freak.
Of course, she isnt technically female, so I dont know if she is what you are looking for. :/

IIRC, Perils of the Pirate Pact and Quest for Perfection: Part II also have

Spoiler:
female pirate captains as the BBEG.

The Blakros Matrimony is jam-packed with powerful female NPCs.

Grand Lodge 5/5

Fortress of the Nail has some powerful female NPCs as well, I think.

I'm not spoilering this, because I'm sticking with NPC's -- not villains -- and giving no specifics:

The Blakros women are certainly strong females:

• Voice in the Void
• Penumbral Accord
• Blakros Matrimony

Then there are the Foxglove sisters:

• The Golden Serpent
• The Green Market

The Thuvian NPC from The Immortal Conundrum (I can't remember her name) was pretty strong.

Lady Darchana of House Madinani is a cast member of the Hellknight's Feast. She is one of the 12 councilors of Absalom and the archdean of the Arcanamirium.

However, there aren't a lot of scenarios with strong female -- or male -- NPC's who aren't Venture Captains or villains. If looking for villains, let us know.

Silver Crusade 5/5

God's Market Gamble!

Grand Lodge 5/5

Perrsonally I think Penumbral Accords would be a bad one for this sort of thing. It's almost your generic 'damsel in distress' sort of situation. :/

Seconded.

That said ...

Red Harvest (if you don't mind if they're not human)
The First Devil We Know (if you play the female villain right)
Shades of Ice 1 (I think? It's been a while)
QfP3 (depending on your definition)
Sewer Dragons of Absalom (though again, not human)
Dawn of the Scarlet Sun (... kiiiinda)

Grand Lodge 5/5

If you wanted to offer the sanctioned part of Rise of the Runelords: Burnt Offerings, you could potentially play up the character of Shelalu Andosana from that book. She's a B-A elf ranger.

Not from Hamaria Blakros' perspective. She's taking a stand and opting to break an ancient pact. She was the strong female NPC I was thinking of.

2/5

The Infernal Vault

Spoiler:
Bad girl end NPC, doesnt talk or interact much

God's Market Gamble
Spoiler:
Sinister but strong female BBEG

Before the Dawn pt1
Spoiler:
Most NPCs are female, BBEG, lieutenant, trade house spokesperson

Before the Dawn pt2
Spoiler:
Camp led by female archeologist. Can have a lot of fun with this one

Shadows Last Stand pt2
Spoiler:
Recurring and sinister BBEG

Rise of the Goblin Guild
Spoiler:
Not the strongest per se but you have a female goblin NPC through it that you can play up

Reign of Winter AP Book 2
Spoiler:
Lots here. Matriarchal society, female BBEG, female resistance leader and her girlfriend

Silver Crusade 4/5

My top choices if you're looking for female role models for young girls:

  • Siege of the Diamond City -
    Spoiler:
The new season 5 special features an appearance by the Queen of Mendev herself.

  • Murder on the Silken Caravan - Definitely fits the theme
  • The Pallid Plague - Kind of a cliche role for a woman, but it works.

Other interesting choices:

  • Sewer Dragons of Absalom - As mentioned above, this one's not a race you'd expect.
  • Severing Ties - Maybe not exactly the role model you'd hope for, but definitely strong and female.
  • The Disappeared - Both strong and weak NPCs of both genders all over the place in this one.
  • The Night March of Kalkamedes -
    Spoiler:
Kinda ify as to whether she qualifies as strong, given her "damsel in distress" role, though she's powerful once freed.

Strong female villains:

  • The Devil We Know, part 1. She's a potential TPK at tier 1-2. This was definitely a case of one tier not being scaled properly compared to the others.
  • Echoes of the Overwatched
  • The Icebound Outpost
  • Rats of Round Mountain, both parts 1 and 2, actually.

4/5

If you want a module, Murder's Mark has sooo many female NPCs in it. Like, seriously, almost all NPCs interacted with in that module are female.

Dark Archive 2/5

Murder on the Throaty Mermaid - It's a stretch here, but the female dwarf cook has been one of my favorite NPCs to roleplay in a long time.

Veterans vault. (both the NPC whose vault you're going for and the otyugh.)

TOGG A DELICATE DESERT FLOWER

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! Female villains are certainly workable.
