Here's a fun one if you're low on spells as an Evoker. ray of Frost gets bennies from Intense Spells. So for my wizard that is 1d3 + 1/2 CL (with Varisian tattoo that is 12th level for evocations) or +6, so puch comes to shove I can hit for 7-9 points a round with a ranged touch.

Not bad for a Cantrip.

Color spray is an awesome spell for the first few levels.

Indirect spells (pits, grease, buffs/debuffs, etc) tend to draw less attention than big damage and other flashy spells, it gives you a better chance to avoid being targeted.

Agreed. And if you pick things to your foes weakness, it can be surprisingly effective. Constructs hate grease in my experience. Wizards don't like fort saves normally. I know of two events where the spell didn't kill the target directly but the extra effects did.

Battering Blast + Huge Waterfall/Cliff face ledge = LONG 200 ft drop to squishy death.

Chain of Perdition + Dirty Trick can turn nasty evil magus into three way punching dummy

Know your spells and don't be afraid to set your foes up for your buddies.

Snowball is from People of the North.

One of my favorite Magus spells to Intensify and Empower.

Indeed it is a good spell, definitely when you critical on a boss with it. >.>

One thing to consider when making a caster type for PFS is that the trait magical knack is now legal.

It's a thing to consider if you're making a multiclass caster (like an Eldritch Knight or Mystic Theurge). It does literally nothing if you're mono-classed.

Also note that it may not stack the way you think it does with other things that add to your caster level.

It adds last, not first, so it is no benefit if you were going to be stacking on other things to raise your caster level, since it applies last, and won't raise your caster level higher than your hit dice.

Yes I could not figure out why that feat would be in any way helpful for a regular caster. I'm glad I'm not crazy.
