Another good source of inspiration, it occurs to me, would be some of Simon Green's works, particularly his Deathstalker series. He has a real talent for coming up with some evocative worlds and settings- and character histories (even if all his characters end up talking and acting too similarly for my tastes, apart from their backstories).
Some of his AIs and mixture of swords and sci-fi would be perfectly suitable for a Numeria/Iron Gods campaign (or a Swords and Planets AP, for that matter).

My idea of a Numeria campaign looks an awful lot like This:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1OltqVcr1Q
Part Heavy Metal, part Flash Gordon, with an unknown race of saucer-borne conquerors from a Far Star, Elder Things from Beyond, and a sisterhood of dark techno-priestesses seeking apotheosis.
...But that's just my imagination running away with me. ;)

By the side burns of Isaac Asimov!
I can see it, a final showdown between barbarian riding cyborg wyverns against 50s sci-fi B-movie flying saucers just like those of Ray Harryhausen while on the ground a horde of Mammoth Riders, robots and mutant giants helped by the Great Race of Yith fight against an alliance of Mi-go, Elder Things, Star Spawn of Cthulhu and Snakemen.Mikaze |

So I'm not one to jump to conclusions* but...
DM Crustypeanut wrote:As a new race featured in the Bestiary 4 (And seen in the Advanced Race Guide), where do the Wyrwood fit into on Golarion?
Can we expect to see them in official PF lore soon?
Same two questions in regards to the Kasatha, who are also friggin' awesome.
Currently the wyrwood do not fit into Golarion. They might live in another galaxy or plane or something, but at this point they don't have a place in Golarion.
Kasatha live on a planet far beyond Golarion's solar system. Unlike the wyrwood, which we have no real plans for... there WILL be something about the kasatha by this time next year.
Oh hell yes.
*HAHAHAAHAA

I saw that too, which is awesome. I've always thought the Kasatha are very much like the Sandfolk from module DA3: City of the Gods- which is pretty appropriate, considering how much City of the Gods and Numeria are alike.
I certainly see it now that it's pointed out. While the AP is apparently going to be more Barrier Peaks influenced, I'm still hoping some Blackmoor flavor leaks in. And on top of that, I'm really hoping for a Captain Reisling or St. Stephen homage on top of that. After all, the DA series was wonderful.
However, I'm hoping Numeria doesn't go the way of Blackmoor (as seen in Known World/Mystara) by the end of this AP.

By the way, there is going to be a Mos Eisley Cantina's reference in one of the modules?
From now until forever* mention of the Mos Eisley cantina will make me think of this: Cantina Party Rock.
*or until I forget about it again, which will likely be in the next few minutes. I really want a sandwich.

Hmmm. So part 2 is inspired by MadMax. I can get behind that. I loved the MM series of movies.
James,
What would you sare are the guiding inspirations for the AP besides Thundarr, Max Max, and Barrier Peaks?
Robert E. Howard. Sweet. I love the idea of a Kellid barbarian/fighter going after some evil priest.

I hope the Iron Gods be like Harlan Ellison's AM.
I think Ellison would fly straight to Paizo HQ like a DBZ character and punch the CEO just he did with Roddenberry. He may even spend a mythic surge point while doing so.

Hmmm... just the trailer for The Machine (due March '14) is giving me all sorts of ideas for androids and gearsmen.

About why hire Richard Corben I had an idea may could be interesting.
What if during this AP the Pathfinder journal tale is a comic book? In fact, I had this silly idea about being a piece of fiction in the fiction, perhaps someone in Earth is investigating what seems to be the mysterious disappearance of a famous comic book script writer and while analyzing his work for some clues he finds there are hints in that work about this writer being in contact with an entity belonging to another world (Golarion). Even there could be information about how to travel to that world trough magical methods.

You have made me a lot more interested and excited for this AP. ty.

Seriously, I am so friggin pumped for this AP.
Dammit, I hope the Guide to Numeria book has a ton of stuff in it (new magic items as well as tech, new archtypes, etc). I'd really love something as flavorful as the Viking Archtype from the Reign of Winter campaign, you know?
Also, I sincerely hope that we see not only the Black Sovereign, but also in the Guidebook we see at least more public players of the Technic league itself, as well as their enforcers (beyond the Gearsmen).
Dammit, the possibilities for this are so many and so vast. The city of Starfall itself is awesome.
Also, will varying tribes in Numeria be detailed, as well as any groups that are resisting the Technic League and the Black Sovereign? Maybe some groups that are competing with the Technic League for his favor?
Would also love to see in this campaign the option for getting the Black Sovereign off his ass and back to conquering and unifying Numeria under one rule. And then going from there and taking more and more!!!!
I'm gonna be such a horrible warlord.
