Double checking some math from this weekend.
A party of 4 5 5 5 6 playing a season 3, 3 to7 scenario would have to play down. (25/5=5, 5 is in between the subtiers, party of 5, For scenarios written in Seasons 0 to 3, when the APL is
in between subtiers, a party of six or seven characters must
play the higher subtier. Parties with four or five characters
must play the lower subtier.)
(Step 5: Determine the Max Gold for the scenario based on
the PC’s advancement rate and the subtier played)
So the 5th level characters then get the lower tier gold because they're not out of tier ? (and if they'd played up they would have gotten the higher amount because they're not out of tier either)
If the DM applies it to a 3rd 4th or 5th level character he gets the lower amount, if it applies to a 7th or 7th level character he gets the higher?

Thanks all. Still got the podcast proposal in my head better than what they came out with.
hmmm...
Step 5: Determine the Max Gold for the scenario based on
the PC’s advancement rate and the subtier played. Circle the
applicable value (F).
So does the subtier played matter any more? Or does it just matter on the 1-7s ?

Sub-tier played only matters if your character is not of that sub-tier.
If you play 1-2 and your character is not level 1 or 2, you get out of sub-tier gold.
If you play 3-4 and your character is not level 3 or 4, you get out of sub-tier gold.
If you play 4-5 and your character is not level 4 or 5, you get out of sub-tier gold.
if you play 5-6 and your character is not level 5 or 6, you get out of sub-tier gold.
If you play 6-7 and your character is not level 6 or 7, you get out of sub-tier gold.
If you play 7-8 and your character is not level 7 or 8, you get out of sub-tier gold.
if you play 8-9 and your character is not level 8 or 9, you get out of sub-tier gold.
If you play 10-11 and your character is not level 10 or 11, you get out of sub-tier gold.
If its GM credit, you get gold for whatever sub-tier your character fits within. If your character is not one of the 4 levels of the 2 sub-tiers that you are applying GM credit for, they get out of sub-tier gold (i.e. if they are level 3 in a Tier 1-5.)
