SOA?

Sword of Air

How much source book type material will be included? More adventures are great but we need info on the area and the world.

Frog God Games guys will have my business for many years to come. Class act all the way. Can't wait to blow some more gold pieces on this one!!!

Thanks a lot. I'm riding around on my forklift all morning yelling this.

Between RA, ST, Razor Coast and S&S it will a while before I could actually run any of it (like a few years), but will be great to have the detail information for the world and how it fits into the other campaigns. Hopefully a lot of the questions we have about where things are and such will be answered. And 14 years is the age of current gaming group we started here in SA back in 1999. Still have a lot of the players that were with us in 2003.

I love this.

...and did someone say a Player's Guide as a stretch goal? What a fine idea...

heh, and editing Bill's Pathfinder-Fu is like being a writer. "Additional Material by" and all...lol, I kid. He's actually a lot better at it than he lets on.

I like the idea of a Player's Guide and you guys write good ones, but unfortunately I can't get my players to read them, grr.... In my case at least it is more like a DM's Guide for Players.

Bill, I can't believe you are actually going to do this. Amazing!

Guys, when I started Necro and got Bill involved, one of the reasons I did that was because of the campaign he ran when we were in college, which included Sword of Air and Hel's Temple and all the other things, some of which we were able to do as Necro and some we weren't.

Bill is the best DM I've ever played with (and I've played with some guys people consider great). He is so old school it is scary. This stuff was already mapped out and filled binders and notebooks even back then. I know how Bill does stuff and if he gives his Bill-style treatment to this material, I can tell you right now it will blow you away.

Bill and I talked about doing Sword of Air when we were doing Necro but it just couldn't be done. We had too many other things going on and the scope of the project just too huge. I hope you guys understand the insane scope of this project and the earth shattering coolness of the content. I played in it years back so I can tell you from experience (and also beating it, [cough cough], uh yeah that's right). Man, if you can pull this off that would be insane. Total gamer nerdgasm. D&D Nirvana.

I'm so glad to see you announce this. I know we talked about it recently. I'm getting excited!

You guys have no idea what you are in store for with this.

Frog God has a lot of material coming out this year that I can't wait to read, let alone lay out!

What date do you anticipate the Kickstarter going live?

OK, I may be selling everything non FGG related in the house to pay bills and buy FGG stuff on Ebay!

Publisher, Frog God Games

Dave--about 2 weeks--I am working out the high end pricing w/ manufacturerers

It was 2 weeks, 2 weeks ago! :P

Its been 14 years, I am sure we can wait a few more weeks!

Excellent. I am working on populating a whole shelf with just FGG books and this will help. Then all I will need are some Froggy-themed book ends.

Time bends in the RPG industry, we still have a 2 week cushion as well! lol

j/k, we're doing plenty of diligence on this one so there are a minimum of delay/setback opportunities.

Sounds like a higher-end kickstarter reward...

Higher-higher end... a bookshelf... in deep mahogany... with a glass door and extendable minibar.

I will come to your house and slap you for suggesting such a thing. Do you have any idea what shipping would be?

Although that would be, hands down, THE MOST AWESOME swag ever...crap, now I want to build one in my house (I need more shelves). Engraved with the FGG logo? awwwwww ye-ah!

With a companion glass-door case for Tome of Horrors minis....

I have a display case already. I just need the book shelves. Now I just need some one who can engrave the FGG logo on the shelves!

Still working on pricing--should have it soon

Publisher, Frog God Games

same deal--I am planning something very special--since KS won't let me change pledge levels once we go live--I am having to wait

cover is almost done though:)

Looking forward to it...

Scarab Sages

To be on the safe side, you probably want to recheck the Kickstarter guidelines and they seem to be getting more nonsensical over time. My pledge on another project just got cancelled today - on the last day of the project, mind you - because apparently *now* there's an issue with pledge level that did not exist when it was created 30 days earlier.

Hmmm I may even have found the perfect bookends for this

Bill Webb wrote:

As in you will show us this today?

Publisher, Frog God Games

Not yet--but soon. Still have not been able to take time off work--should be able to starting next week (and as soon as the KS funds go into hiding and just write). I have like 1200 pages to convert to usable text and maps altready done--lots of it is (actually true) typewritten (on an old typewriter)

Yeah, that is really fun to scan and OCR Bill. I would recommend OmniPro if you are going to do it. Almost less work retyping it. Steve Edwards is a real pro at it now. I have turned most of my scanning work over to him.

Oops, was still logged on with my alias...

Publisher, Frog God Games

the problem is its a total rewrite--most of it is in abbreviated notes and shorthand etc. I wrote it initially for me...not anyone else

Grand Lodge

..

So I am guessing that OCRing would not help then?

And that would be why I'm so opposed to teaser announcements. I'll all for "we are going to be doing X, so budget now" type threads, but if there's no time-frame it's just annoying.

Pick a date. October 1st. November 1st. January 1st, 2018. Whatever. I'm a faithful FGG backer but "still no information" is a great way to sap enthusiasm. You can always delay startup a month or whatever if something truly unpredictable happens.

Scarab Sages

I am of the opposite mind - delays give more time to gather funds.

I don't mind that they announced this, I'm just happy it's happening and am just really looking forward for the kickstarter to start.

They told us what the product is, we know what to expect.

I will say I wasn't a big fan of the teaser announcement where the company just listed a bunch of big names but didn't say what the product was...

I am with you davrion and the announcements means I can get my players interested and contributing.

Shadow Lodge

Heh, some of us have known it was coming since the Slumbering Tsar book came out.

Ah that is true. I forgot about that teaser...

Very excited about this one.

I am so looking forward to this. I am looking into a titanium carbon fiber matrix type book shelf system. This system is good to about 50 kips, so, hopefully, since this is a relatively static load, will be able to withstand the load of all of these awesome books. Scraping some $ together for this. I am really interested in the collectors editions of these books. Hopefully I can afford one this time around!

Maybe Bill/Frogs is waiting to reveal the cover and kickstarter link in the new Rana Reader newsletter. They put that out usually on the 22nd/23rd of each month.

The amount of awesome content (at least Swords & Wizardry) coming out of FGG is borderline ridiculous!!!

The same is true for the Pathfinder RPG. :)

Dotting too for the announcement, though I am sure G+ etc Will light up once the KS launches.

I'm expecting Bill to fly over the Paizo boards with his Frog-1 Bomber and drop the bombs soon. I see he posted this here on the 22nd of last month, that is two days before he even announced on his blog and his newsletter. His newsletter usually comes out between 20th-25th of each month. Prepare to be blown away!!!
