larger versions of weapons

Rules Questions

Is it possible to get/make aversion of the falcata for a two handed fighter?

If yes, what would base damage be?

Sczarni

Well, a medium-sized Falcata is 1d8, so a large-sized Falcata would deal 2d6.

Grand Lodge

What's behind your aversion to the Falcata?

Also, rules exist for pricing, and determining the base damage for larger weapons.

Remember, that inappropriately sized weapons incur penalties when used.

Sczarni

Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to teach a man to fish.

He means a homebrewed weapon type, being a two handed weapon with 19-20 crit range and x3 crit multiplier. I would probably require it to be "discovered" or "invented" in game by a character who has knowledge of warfare and plenty of ranks into knowledge (engineering) and Craft (weapons and armor).

Grand Lodge

Does he mean a new weapon?

Is he simply asking for a larger version of an existing weapon?

A large Falcata wouldn't count as a "two-handed weapon", would it? (I assume he is referring to the fighter archetype, which only works for such.)

Yes. It counts, and works in reverse.

Otherwise, we would have Two handed Fighters wielding small Greatswords, and getting all the benefits.

No aversion :-D should be a version...

My goal as statet by marshmallow is to get a twohanded weapon with 19-20/3 threat range...

We always assumed that a longsword created to be twohanded is a greatsword. As long as you are proficient there's no penalties, and I was hoping for an upgraded version of the falcata.

Basicly getting a higher crit modifier for 1 exotic weapon proficient feat.

Grand Lodge

Just nab a large Falcata.

It's a -2 penalty, but there are ways around that.

Sczarni

Or homebrew an Exotic, Two-Handed slashing weapon with a 19-20/x3 crit range that deals 2d6 base damage.

But, if this isn't a rules question, it belongs in the Advice forum.
