Confirmed whacking? Yikes

Blood is pouring down his face now as the wound begins to heal it has done nothing to help his looks that is for certain. The axe is now jammed into the side of his head the skin pulled away his skull showing if momentarily. The wound noticeably begins to close as he sits down and he starts blathering and speaking incoherently. Occasionally he says he is sorry.

Next confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 31

Tvashtri has been anxiously staying his hand for a bit now, hoping that those who knew The Nasty Orc better would be best able to handle this turn of fortune. Since that no longer appears to be the case, he implements an idea of his own; he bids his Ourobourocyclos roll over to him, after which it pivots around and begins emitting barely-audible clicking noises...

Suddenly, The Stanky Orc appears, looming over The Nasty Orc!

Ourobourocyclos casts minor image (saving throw DC 17, but hopefully an illusion of a ghost is hard enough to interact with that we can avoid that).

"NASTY, YOU DUMMY!" it booms. "Don't you remember? Your friend Alissa has been placed in the body of a Half-Orc...which for some reason, she does not want. Alissa is OVER THERE. Alissa's BODY is over HERE. You see? It's like when you hit people so hard, their brains fly out of their skulls. But because Alissa's YOUR FRIEND, you want to put her BACK INSIDE her body - but first, you have to get her body BACK for her, because right now, it's being NAUGHTY!"

"Dad?"

Will Save: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (13) - 2 = 11

Scarab Sages

"YES, Son!" Persists the illusion. "Your friend's body has been STOLEN, so don't listen to it - listen to the pretty half-breed lady, instead!"

He looks at the original Alissa and then back at the half-orc version and then to his father. He babbles incoherent sobs.

"BURRRRPPPPLE...?"

Liberty's Edge

"Leave him. He's Confused."

Sovereign Court

There's no crying in the mines of Booria

Come on over here, Nasty and let me help you says Evil Alissa

Scarab Sages

"LIAR! THIEF!" Shouts the illusion at Evil Alissa. "Leave my boy alone and surrender yourself!"

All right. Pseudopod time.

Pseudopod: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19She SLIMED me!: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Aaaand a Fort save DC 19 or be paralyzed. We need her body, and this is as good a way as any to take it.

Sovereign Court

Fort: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 she is paralyzed

I am not that good at not dissolving stuff inside me, so I decube to pick her up.

"There, there, don't worry. We're just going to rip out your soul. If you're nice to us, you will look smashing as a half-orc."

Another round of confusion.

Perception: 1d100 ⇒ 53

Gives himself another whack in the head. "No, NO NO me no understand what is going on maybe me need to whack myself in the head to help me think better.

Self Whack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 201d8 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21

Scarab Sages

The illusion adopts a somewhat tired expression.

"Most esteemed Mr. Orc - I mean, uh, SON, stop that, please. It's alright, really. You have done well. Behold! Your friend's body has been subdued."

I say we kill both Alissas, just to be safe.

Also, Nasty, don't bash yourself. Next time you want to get bludgeoned, give me the honors. In the meantime, let's patch you up.

Heal: 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (6, 2, 1) + 9 = 18

Liberty's Edge

"Don't kill both Alissas! I still have to romance one of them!"

Your odds have increased exponentially now that there is more than one

There is only one.

*Starts searching the body thief for anything that could accomplish the body swap.*

On second thought, maybe I should have both of us tied up first, just in case.

Jenny, and only Jenny, can do the searching.

Liberty's Edge

"COME ON!"

:-P

Liberty's Edge

"Every...freaking...time."

Scarab Sages

The illusion suddenly gains a hat made out of fruit, unleashes a single gout of a mighty confetti breath weapon, then fades away, its work done.

She does have a gold key on her, but nothing that would accomplish a body switch.

Scarab Sages

"May I have that splendid wand she was brandishing? Oh, and do let me have a look at that, as well..."

Tvashtri strides up and scrutinizes the key.

Knowledge check to see if I can deduce anything about this key (for example, if it might be part of some esoteric ritual, or if I can figure out based on its construction what kind of lock it opens/where that lock might be located):

Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24
Knowledge (Dungeoneering): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
Knowledge (Engineering): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29

Sovereign Court

TAK: I believe Alissa or Jenny has the wand.

The key looks like...well a gold key, not part of any ritual. Unless you had one in mind. Let's just say that you will know the proper lock when you see it.

Jenny has the wand. I am tied up at the moment.

Well, okay. Any more tasty bugs around? If so, I eat the ones Nasty doesn't get. Gotta regenerate the fire damage I took.

"See now... this is gonna be a problem. I doubt a stinking cloud is going to switch your soul with hers, Alissa. So we need more information on how the switch was originally made. Search your memories, Alissa. Think. Remember. Remember."

I break out the heavy artillery, a broken brass watch I found in a trash bin some time ago, and use it as a pendulum before Alissa's face.

"REMEMBER!!!"

*Watches the watch. It is soooo mesmerizing.*

I remember walking into the room with the ghosts on the thrones.
I had this sudden compulsion to start killing.
I looked at my comrads and thought it would be so easy to kill them since they would not be expecting it.
But even as I was taking great pleasure in killing them, I was also horrified by what I was doing.
I kept screaming at myself to stop.
But I was having too much fun, and I would not listen.
I remember wanting to hide.
To run away.
I didn't want to be me anymore.
The next thing I know, a fog lifted from my eyes.
Everyone was alive.
I was so glad that I hadn't killed anyone.
Then everyone was looking strangely at me.
They pointed out that I looked different.
That is all I can remember.

Nasty looks at AM Healer. "Thank you I think that last one made me better not as confused now."

He also begins to eat as many of the fallen as possible as sacrifices to the Great Devourer.

"Oh great Devourer this large creature I eat for you. May you and all who follow you Devourer or be devoured as you have told us it should be."

Sovereign Court

Jenny. Between you and Nasty you manage to clean up the remaining demoralized bugs...oh god no please anything but the brass watch,

"Can I see the watch Jenny?"

Scarab Sages

Tvashtri finds the watch pretty attention-grabbing as well...for completely different reasons.

Knowledge (Engineering): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18
detect magic + Spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

"Friend Jinni, are you aware that that device is quite broken? I'm certain I could fix, it though..." He has a sort of yearning look on his face.

"So, basically... you're saying you were under some kind of charm? I dunno that getting your soul smashed into a half-orc body would make you particularly interested in killing us, if you weren't before, and since you didn't keep wanting that after... whatever happened. Charm and polymorph of some kind is perhaps easier to explain than soul switching... and that would make Evil you just an impostor. Right, people?"

"By the way, here, take the watch, TAK. And show it to Nasty if you want."

Scarab Sages

Tvashtri gingerly takes the watch, looks it over, and begins tinkering with it with his delicate fingers.

Repair Mechanical: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Sovereign Court

TAK: If the watch had any chance of ever working again, that chance just went right out the window.

Scarab Sages

Maybe I should have clarified: That was a "repairing hit points" roll. It's a spell-like ability I have. A natural '1' shouldn't mean a 'botch,' if that's what you were thinking.

Sovereign Court

Oh...Well in that case it is all fixed up

Scarab Sages

Does there happen to be anything special about it?

Sovereign Court

TAK: I don't know.

Jenny is there anything special about that watch?

It was in a bargain bin by the door of a tiny, rather dank, curio shop. The owner had a very long beard and a cloak with the words "liber malus latinus". No idea what it used to be... I paid two coppers for it.

Scarab Sages

We'll say that's: How many bonus gp worth toward my Salvage Pool?: 1d100 ⇒ 68

"Trash for one is treasure for another! I shall put you to good use, I am certain." Tvashtri says sweetly to the watch as he stows it in his haversack.

I'm still here.

I have a pocket for a watch, but that pocket is full of candy right now.

Sovereign Court

Jenny Wise purchase, one never knows when a broken watch might come in handy.

TAK. I do not know what a salvage pool is, is it similiar to that watery pool of trash in star wars?

AMS. Are you over your eldritch fever

AMH. I would not advertise that too loud around Nasty

The elderitch fever, the elderitch bronchitis, and the eldritch abcessed tooth.

Just so long as you kept them to yourself.

It's the collection of junk, scrap, and gewgaws I accumulate over the course of my adventures that I can draw on in a manner similar to an EBERRON Artificer's Craft Reserve to cobble future mechanicals from.

So, Jenny.
Will that watch stuff work on not-Alissa?
