[FGG] FGG Pathfinder Content HeroLab files

This is a free download through the Powered By Herolab mechanism inside of Herolab. This includes information that can be used by the players in your group like feats, spells, classes, etc. This file has been created in such a way so that your players will only need the license for the Herolab Pathfinder data-set, and not the additional add-ons. To use this, you will need to follow the steps found here. Once loaded, your players can go to the Configure Hero screen (Cntrl-K), scroll down to the Frog God Games/Necromancer Games area, and select FGG Pathfinder Content box, and the box for the module you are playing in. Using the Powered by HeroLab feature will allow us to make updates to everyone as needed. When an update is available, it will display on the start-up screen for HeroLab when it checks for updates.

While the Deep Cave Frogs have worked very hard to correct any errors we could find, it is possible (and expected) that some did make it through to the final version. We do have a site set-up where you can report any errors or discrepancies that you may find. You can find the bug reporting system here. Please provide as much detail as possible in the error report to help us be able to re-create it and fix it. If you receive an error message pop-up in HeroLab, you can right click the error message, copy it and paste it into your ticket. This will go a long ways in helping us also. Additional information regarding error reporting can be located here.

I got the download today and noticed the Stoneheart Valley content showing. Will have to take a look. I am getting questions on Deadman's Chest even in S&S threads so I am glad to have it. They will probably face a breath taker on Thursday.

Cool.

You will still need to get the GM from FGG to run it. Not a lot is missing without that part.

Pathfinder Rules Conversion, Frog God Games

So, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes with the HeroLab content. We built this group up over the course of the last, what? Year? Longer than that? I cant remember. We (read: they) have to check a lot of code, test it against the base code to make sure it works, yadda, yadda, yadda (you in the IT world know more about the process than I do, and those not in the IT world don't care).

I can be a total d*** when I want something done, don't know all of what goes into it, and expect it NOW rather then when its ready. I came form a construction background, so I take a real no bull**** approach to getting things out the door.

I have been on Umarian's case for these files lately more than I should have. The God-Empress of the Universe's, too.

I have to say, i got everything loaded last night (followed the directions, how novel!) and it was great. Is everything 100% perfect in our files? No. You show me a piece of software that is 100% flawless, and I'll....I dunno, Ive never seen one, so I dont know how to gauge that :-)

Anyway, over the course of this year, Karen, Jai, Rob, Jeff, and Tim have done an amazing job for us with HL and RW files, and I just wanted to say a very big thank you for the effort. We wouldn't be doing this without you guys, and the fans have responded very positively.

Thanks deep Cave Frogs!!!!

The HeroLab content was well done as far as I can see thus far. I thank all the deep cave frogs for all of their hard work! What little errors I can see is mostly minor errata and most of it from the books. Some of the authors made some minor errors on skills and feats in the stat blocks and most of that was fixed in the file. It is kind of a chicken and the egg issue. You need the file to check the stat blocks in the books, but without the books they couldn't make the file. They are not what I would call game breakers. Mostly minor characters from Heart of the Razor. The major NPCs look a lot better on a quick check.

I just wanted to poke my head in long enough to say thanks to the Deep Cave Frogs for knocking these files out and to FGG for caring enough to see that they got done to a high level of quality.

To put things in perspective, the two GMs for my gaming group (me and another guy) won't run adventures that don't have Hero Lab support (re: NPC stat files). We run online campaigns through d20Pro and we simply don't have enough time to do everything up from scratch.

We finished Rappan Athuk a little while ago and now we're on module 2 of Way of the Wicked only because we were able to get HL files for both campaigns. Thankfully d20pfsrd.com has a great repository of HL files of nearly all Paizo adventures and a few of the really popular non-Paizo ones.

My point is that I know we're not the only group that waits to buy stuff until HL support is available. I hope that more companies show the absolutely phenomenal levels of customer support that FGG and a select few others have as well.

I second that djf! The Deep Cave Frogs have done and excellent job and when LW messed things up yesterday they had a fix in record time! Three cheers for the Deep Cave Frogs!!!!

I'm really just trying to butter Skeeter up so that he'll sweet talk Bill into green lighting a PF conversion of City of Brass now that Paizo has released Mythic rules ;-)

If Skeeter doesn't, I'll have to do my own conversions. My party will find their way into the City of Brass by hook or by crook. :)

DS,

I don't want to derail this thread too much so I'll probably start a new thread specifically begging FGG to do a PF City of Brass conversion using the Paizo Mythic rules; the CR 35 Sultan of the Efreet is basically the poster child for why Mythic rules were needed in the first place!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. A lot of time, work, and chunks of hair went into getting all of this stuff done and out. Glad you all like it.

Well, I cannot speak for the Frog Gods, but I do remember them saying, multiple times on the board, that they are going to update ALL of their products. (Very few are not included in that due to copyright) Not sure which thread it was in, but could probably search it and continue the conversation there.

Sovereign Court

Is there a listing somewhere of all files made for hero lab by 3PP ?

that would be interesting to see.

Someone started a thread here to try to get this listed. Not sure if they got all of it or not, but there are many listed.

Also, the Community Bestiary has a lot of the products that are not done by the companies themselves. I don't think that ShadowChemosh has gotten everything on that page listed, but there is a LOT.

Don't be afraid of using the Community Bestiary. Some people refuse to use it because it is not "Official" but it is coded by the exact same people that do a lot of the "Official" 3PP material. Also, ShadowChemosh, myself and a couple others have had things rolled into the "Official" HL datasets that you buy from LoneWolf. So we know what needs to be done to do things right. (In a lot of cases, what you get in the Community Bestiary is coded a lot better than some of the 3PP "Official" releases, because those people are still learning to do the advanced stuff, and usually it is ShadowChemosh that helps them out when LW is busy.) So just because it is free, doesn't mean it is not quality.

Good afternoon folks,

We were able to get things corrected with the FGG Pathfinder Content files so that they can be downloaded. With the change in websites, the links that were in place got broken, and had to be re-set.

In order to make use of these corrections, you will need to change the link in your own HeroLab update section. The full instructions for how to set-up the new link can be located here..

Please make sure that you replace the

old link:
http://www.talesofthefroggod.com/herolab/FGGCPupdates.xml
with the
new link:

I get a 404 error with the new link.

Ok. Let me figure out what is going on. Sorry.

Seemed to work for me when I tried it last night. The link took me to the XML content. I then edited the custom source for the existing entry I had, and it seemed to work fine (no more error on startup).

Looks like when we re-directed the websites, we pointed to version 1.1 instead of 1.11. This has been corrected now.

That caused me a minor issue and I had to reload all my FG hl files, but they are all working now.
