Deft Shootist Deed prerequisits

Rules Questions

The Deft Shootist Deed has the following prerequisites... "Grit class feature or Amateur Gunslinger feat, Dodge, Mobility." So does this mean that you can ignore Dodge and Mobility if you have Grit, or does this mean you need Grit or Amateur Gunslinger in addition to Dodge and Mobility?

The second one.

You need both feats, and either Amateur Gunslinger or the Grit class feature.

I read this to mean that you must have the Grit class feature OR the latter three if you don't have the Grit class feature, but that's just me.

This requires going back to school a bit. Look at the commas. In English, they are used to separate elements in a series. The fact that the first two elements, "1) Grit class feature or 2) Amateur Gunslinger feat" are not separated by commas means you have a choice between either or, whereas the rest of the elements, "Dodge, Mobility" are meant to be included with which ever of the first two options you went with.

If it said, "Grit class feature, or Amateur Gunslinger, Dodge, and Mobility" you'd be right.
