Lelouch Lamperouge - Help me build him!

Advice

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Basically, I've been wanting to run a pure spellcaster for some time now but haven't seen any ideas that struck my fancy. Now finally I saw something that I wanted to recreate as a character, but I have no idea how.
The general idea is to use a lot of "mind control" spells such as dominate and suggestion, maybe even geas if it gets to that point. I need any and all advice on building this type of character please!

Controller sub-school Wizard, snag Bluff and Diplomacy as your main skills, load up on spells like Suggestion at higher levels.

At level 8 you get something kinda like Geass (Dominate Monster on people equal or lower than your HD for rounds/level).

Really all you need to do is max your DCs and go down the list of Enchantment (Compulsion) spells and learn them all.

Make sure not to dump Cha, as Lelouch is charismatic as well.

He's pretty easy to build since he's basically just a normal human with mind control powers, albeit his allows no save.

Actually, I'd build him as a witch.

Charm and Evil eye.

Charm just increases their attitude by a step or two. It's not even close to the absolute control over a person's actions Geass provides.

Grand Lodge

Yeah, but its not like Wizards get Geas at level 1. Witches get Evil Eye, Charm, Slumber, Cackle, Disguise Self.. etc..

Any of those at level 1.

Oh, And Witches get Geas as well.

Y'know, I was sure Witches didn't get the Dominate spells for some reason, but I looked and I was mistaken.

In that case, yeah, Witch is probably better overall.

(Nods)

I don't know why you'd think that... Witches are masters of Domination. Heck.. a level 18 power acts like Death Note.

Could you please elaborate on the whole witch thing? I've only ever played Paladins (mostly the Antipaladin variety) and Magus as far as casters go. Do they get those kinds of abilities early on, or much later?
The party is only 5th level, so i'm looking for things I can use at that level, if that helps any.

Witches gain one hex at level 1, second level and another every other level after second.

These hexes have a DC of 10+1/2 witch level+int mod, and can be used quickly and such.

Evil Eye - Can hit an enemy every-round, tearing down their defenses. While not as powerful as Lelouch's ability yet.. its effective at increasing the ability to use it on them next round. Especially with Cackle. Lelly Loved to laugh.. often for show, but he still laughed a lot.

The rest of them have a 24 hour limit usually speaking /per/ victim. With split Hex and accursed hex, you can speed things up, and shore up your weaknesses there.

So while i can't dominate someone's mind i could weaken it (Fluff-wise) causing them to be more susceptible to other influences?

They have their own spell list (mostly focused around debuffs and compulsions), that progresses as a Wizard.

They also get Hexes, with a myriad of abilities, at 1st, second, and every 2 levels thereafter.

Of note, Evil Eye can impart a -2 to pretty much anything of your choice, including AC, Saves, and Attack rolls for 3+Int mod rounds, reduced to 1 if they MAKE the Will save. Misfortune can force any enemy within 30 feet to re-roll and take the worst result of any Attack roll, save, and skill/ability check they make that round. Cackle can extend effects by 1 round as a Move action.

There are other really good Hexes (Flight is a nice one. Feather Fall at will from 1st if you take it and Fly for minutes/level at 5th, and Fortune allows your allies to re-roll and take the BEST, just as an opposite Misfortune), but those seem the most relevant to your interests.

Using Evil Eye, then Misfortune, then a Dominate spell can result in a nearly unwinnable save if you pump the DC high enough, though it takes 2 rounds to set up.

Good as an out of combat Geass use for nearly guaranteed results, or an in-combat "Power-Up Sequence" that can take the boss out of the fight with little trouble.

I agree, Witch is the best route. You'll have to use many different abilities and spells to mimic his Geass power, but that shouldn't be an issue since it was his only power (aside from sheer intellect).

Slumber can be the subjects bowing to their king. Suggestion, Dominate, and other enchantment spells would also be key. Fortunately, Witch gets nearly all of them.

C.C. can be his Patron.

Now, an even better option if you can go outside of Paizo and/or PF is the Telepath psion, using the psionics system. Or the 3E Beguiler class (which lacks Geas spell, but has a class feature to use to pick it up).

We're only allowed Paizo books, and only Pathfinder material not 3.5 books. The DM is also very against Psionics, so they're a no go.
Just rolled stats, and this is what i have so far.
Str 12
Dex 14
Con 13
Int 17
Wis 15
Cha 18 (20 for being human)

Pretty much any core stuff is allowed, although no oriental gear or classes. Still trying to decide on what i should take for feats, and what weapon to use. :/
Thanks for all the help though, this is looking to be a fun character so far!

Cough cough. Sorcerer with the fey bloodline. Big bonus to compulsion dc, charisma based which is excellent for slouch.

Is that rolled, in order, or no?

It was a Roll and arrange for taste System. I am going to be the face of the team, so Charisma is my power stat followed by Intelligence. Or should that be switched? never played a Witch before. (Is it Warlock for males?)

Edit: this is getting quite a bit of attention for only posting it a little bit ago! Thanks everyone.

Should be Int. Witches are Int casters, so your save DCs, spells per day, spells known (at 1st level), etc. are based on Int.

I'd say put the 17 in Cha and 20 in Int. You always want to max your DCs as a caster who'll be directly casting on people, and doubly so for Save or Suck casters (which you will be).

With 17 Cha you can still be a solid face (maybe put your level 4 stat increase into it if it's really that important to you).

I'd also say perhaps switch your Wis and Con since you have good Will progression, but you're also squishy.

You might be a back liner but you'll take a hit eventually, and that extra HP per level adds up to a buffer that could save your life.

Bard is also an option. You get all the enchantment spells and can pump your bluff, diplomacy, and intimidate up to ridiculous levels.

After reading over the class, I'm definitely going Witch! The DM and I are talking back and forth about what he'll allow and how far I can take this before he gets vengeful. But so far, it's looking pretty good. Thanks to everyone for the Input!

A bard could work out pretty well. Fascinate at level 1 gives you a mesmerizing kind of ability. At level 6 you can use Suggestion to give orders. Use Oratory as your performance type. You can role play Inspire Courage as giving out tactical orders / advice. You get some buffing & enchanting spells to round out your abilities. You also get the benefit of being a skill monkey.
