What I'm about to say is going to to seem obvious, nay, self-evident for long time PFS members. But Paizocon was my first Con and first time interacting with the PFS staff directly.

I'm posting to express my admiration for the PFS staff and their ability to balance the need for bureaucracy with an attention to the ultimate goal: the people. From the very top person, I personally experienced a compassion for and focus on people (and not just the players) in a way that does not undermine the integrity of the system. I witnessed this approach in VC's directed to myself and other players. Sure, there are things which probably could be improved, but that's true about everything.

Collaterally, this is a ringing endorsement of Paizo. Whoever decided to hire Mike Brock and crew should be given a raise (but we can pay Mike in boons right?). PFS is a credit to the people who run it as well as Paizo for empowering those people. I hope PFS is still around when my kids are old enough to play. I'll be happy to chip in for a motorized wheelchair so Mike can keep working.

Hear, hear! And all hail Mike Brock!

I agree with this poster 100%. I missed the Saturday A.M. session muster by a few and felt rather s.o.l. However, my small misfortune turned positive when I was unexpectedly invited to an open gaming session with Paizo's lead designer as the GM. That was the best time I had at Paizocon. Gaming with staff > boon. (gaming with staff who are cool even better)

Mad props to Paizo for not deifying your staff and to Mr. Bulmahn and his illustrating associate, "unknown named guy" for being awesome dudes! I had a blast.
