A campaign in a box is a grand idea. Especially focused on 1-5 or 1-7 level play, detailing adventure sites and the like. Collating information from Rise of the Runelords and Jade Regent, with pawns and maps.
It's a great idea and I would definitely buy it.

I would be all over this set. I stopped running BB because there is no adventure support. In fact I just sold all my PF hardcovers and adventures last week because I have no desire for a game as complex as core PF, and stripping core adventures down to BB is more work than coming up with my own material to run. I am not a novice by any means, I started playing in the 70s with the LBBs, I just hate running 3.x full blast. Especially for the kids group (my 13yo son and his peers) who have no desire to learn complicated systems and get analysis paralysis with too much going on (we now mostly play a OD&D/S&W houseruled mashup, but we started with the PFBB nearly 2 years ago! )
I did keep my Beginner Box though because it is a fantastic product I believe in, hopefully this Sandpoint boxed set and other adventure material will surface for the BB! :)

I think it would be a great idea. I'd want it. One of the things I've run into with the BB set is not being able to get the experience (as a GM or a player) to prepare me for the Core Rules. A nice campaign boxed set with a companion book designed to be a transitional tool would be great.
Perhaps each adventure would add a component of the core rules into it so that the GM and players would have an easier time moving over?

I'll throw my hat in the ring as a person who has never purchased the BB and probably wouldn't unless for my girls. But a Sandpoint box, from the POV of the fact that I'm a busy guy w/out a lot of time to dream up campaigns/worlds and here's a fully fleshed campaign starter complete with maps, handouts and other goodies.
So when's the release date...

I'm imagining two booklets like in the BB.
Book 1: Sandpoint booklet. A detailed overview of the town. Pretty self explanatory.
Book 2: Perils of the Lost Coast booklet. The full level 1-5 mini-campaign/module, hinted at in the card game and comics, that follows the dungeon introduced in the BB. :D
Also lots of pawns of the common townsfolk would be so incredibly useful!

Is there any way this could be a community effort? Wayfinder's been doing in-setting BB stuff under the community use license. If there's no official plans to do a Sandpoint box...
That'd be cool too but I want an actual physical box. There's just something about having one that's special. Also pawns. >.<

I too love the idea and would buy such a box.
I am always more a fan of encyclopaedic material than mere crunch. Golarion has so many opportunities. I liked the background information in the original RotRl series a lot but was underwhelmed with "Varisia, Birthplace of Legends".
Compared to the Forgotenn Realms or the German Aventurien, Golarion is still a world hard to imagine; it does not invoke pictures with real depth in my brain.

I think that's the point, so that it doesn't become as convoluted as the Realms.
That being said, my North box set for the Forgotten Realms sees so much use, whether for play or personal enjoyment. I'd support a product like this for Sandpoint and Varisia.

We haven't had gaming money for a couple years due to my husband being unemployed and then underemployed. But about a month ago, my daughter asked us to teach her to play with us. We had the D&D Beginner Box from way back at the beginning of 3.0 when I was teaching my little sister to play and we were going to just take the materials from that and convert it to Pathfinder. And then we saw the BB at a game store while we were out last weekend. It was a no-brainer to save ourselves the conversion work. And when we opened the thing, it was so impressive. I don't know how many of you ever got a D&D Beginner Box, but it was lame compared to this one. So I love the materials in it and after a couple game sessions, my daughter (who is 6) has been doing a good job of getting the hang of things and learning her way around the character sheets. I had actually come to the Paizo site today to look for PDFs of the beautiful character sheets from the box when I saw the follow-up adventures available here as PDFs. I'm getting all the free stuff they've got and I'll wade through it to keep us going. But, at the end of the day, my daughter is only 6. Even if she gets a character to 5th level or 10th level or beyond, her capacity to understand all of the Core Rules is limited. So expansions on the Beginner Box would be of great interest to us. And particularly a Sandpoint Box with more adventures there. When I showed her the maps in the little GM book, she was really excited to finish in the dungeon and go explore the town. And while I can roll with that, having 20ish years of experience under my belt, I also really like the structure of planned adventures and such. Plus, we plan to try to buy some of the Pawn Boxes because we are so impressed with the pawns from the Beginner Box. So if there were pawns of various Sandpoint NPCs, that would be awesome.
Basically, as a parent teaching a young child how to play, any support for BB rules is going to be welcome. And box sets really speak to the cash-strapped cheapskate in me. So I definitely want to add my support for this idea in here.

SANDPOINT BOX
Hell yeah, I am old school so any Box set is good. But A starting point for any DM/GM is a mega step in the right direction.
Throw in say a PF Directors Screen, a few booklets on Campaign construction, Sandpoint, CD with blank forms, Generic Urban, wilderness & dungeon map packs.
Flow charts and capmaign adventure parth style design development construction ABC's and you should be go to go. Some blank but form styled Index cards, for NPC, Creatures, Character Summary-to match up with the Game mastery Friens & Foes ect

This is something I've been thinking about doing since we decided to put Sandpoint in the Beginner Box in the first place.
It's not on the schedule, it's not something I've even really discussed with folks, but it's a damn good idea.
Okay Eric,
You've had nearly a year. Where is it!?!?!?!

I am a foster parent and potentially adopting (again) so I have a group of young girls that Ive already turned on to boardgaming. Purchasing a BB and Sandpoint boxed set would definitely be an immediate pickup. I want to introduce them to all the gaming hobbies that I have enjoyed and this would be a perfect family night thing.
I dont think Im alone in that there are many parents who grew up playing RPGs and are now in a position to bring their own children into the gaming culture. I think its a great idea to expand on the BB and even in general provide further boxed sets of key cities and other areas. I was a big fan of boxed sets for DnD and see no reason it would change for Pathfinder.

I vote for including a 14 - 25 page document similar to BB 'Transitions/GM kit' that expands the Beginner Box core classes up to level 10 adding 4 pages of new spells and several pages of new feats and skills. If Paizo did this, IMO this product would appeal to BOTH the core PF crowd and those who want more rules for the Beginner Box and are interested in using that as their main rule set. It would be the perfect 'intermediate' product without creating a separate Beginner Pathfinder line of products.
