APG Classes In Adventure Paths--Inquisitors and Cavaliers

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

Hey guys, I have noticed that there are plenty of Oracles and Witches in the adventure paths, a few alchemists and I know Paizo's stance on summoners in Golarion but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of which AP issues make use of Inquisitor and Cavalier NPCS?

Thanks!

The Jade Regent AP has multiple samurai, which are alternate class cavaliers. A cavalier also appears in Skull & Shackles in Raiders of the Fever Sea, though he's a naval officer, so he's not exactly a traditional cavalier. Coming up, however, we have multiple cavaliers and inquisitors (and even a summoner!) appearing in the Wrath of the Righteous AP, so keep your eyes out for that!

if you want to see paizo do a summoner right check out the pathfinder module (not part of an AP) "The Harrowing". won't give anything away but it has an awesome summoner in it.

big ups to author Crystal Frasier on it.

*High level* inquisitors are tricky, because their stat blocks can be quite long and complicated. (I know from playing with them)

That is not to say they shouldn't appear in adventures, they absolutely should! But they're a class I wouldn't assign to a casual or secondary role. If you're going to invest the word count in them, they should be fairly crucial to the story.

Private editorial: my opinion only.

i forgot Skull & Shackles also has at least one inquisitor (high level even)

Gah! I can't believe I forgot that. Captain Yesterday is correct - there is also an inquisitor in the final volume of Skull & Shackles, From Hell's Heart.

Its all good, i didn't even remember til later:) Brain farts happen!- the more you know!

I hope to see more summoners in Wraith of the Righteous, given the nature of Sarkoris and the god callers. I know JJ hates summoners, but I really love the class and I want to see them in more adventures.

It would be great to see a Sarkoris God-caller archetype for the summoner. The name "god-caller" is so evocative, there must be some left over after the Worldwound opened.

Thanks for pointing out the inquisitor in Skull and Shackles, I understand what Jim was saying about them being rather complicated, stats and abilities wise. I think its a great class flavor wise, and would be well suited to a recurring villain would be used throughout a campaign I think.

As it turns out... there will be one (1) summoner in Wrath of the Righteous.

And as THAT turns out, I just finished statting up her eidolon not 4 minutes ago.

That's good to hear. I really want to see more summoners in adventures. I love running them and playing them, although I understand that with two stat blocks to write, it can be a pain.

I've thought of playing a synth summoner in this campaign and playing it off as some form of demon-possession. Kinda like Jason Blood and Etrigan the Demon.

Have to agree, my players were all 'What the hell was that!?" when they encountered the Summoner, and all "That is amazing!" when they'd finished and it was explained to them.

I can't recommend The Harrowing strongly enough. I have not run it yet, but it is very imaginative and otherwise brilliant.
