After spending a few days looking around the wizards community forums I noticed that the threads seem to be rather low-traffic. Low post count and long gaps between posts. The view count on any given thread is usually pretty high compaired to the posts which was another odd thing I noticed.
Essentially I am comparing the Wizards Community forums to the Paizo messageboards. The discrepancy in traffic seems rather large to me and was wondering if anyone had any thought's on this.

I think it pays to be wary about extrapolating one's experience to the general, nonetheless for me the active participation of the patio staff is what made me prefer this forum to the wizards of the coast forums (in addition to the layout/ease of use issue kmal2t identified above).
Initially, I didn't really care what other fans thought about the game. What the people who actually write the material think was fascinating though. After a while, I came to find the community itself to be engaging. The initial attraction though was watching James Jacobs explain why the APs no longer went to twentieth level (or something similar) and being able to ask follow up questions.
