Cool!
Will you be adding a few new stretch goals?
I should let Wolfgang answer that (lest I get punished for revealing too much, too soon ... kobolds can be such cruel taskmasters!)
Just between you and me, though? You bet - there are some VERY cool new stretch goals on the horizon, including a couple I personally am VERY excited about! Just don't let anyone know I told you :)

The blog update is tomorrow, but you heard it here first: Brandon Hodge is going to design a Deep Magic section on "vril magic." This will expand the extremely cool stuff he did for Sunken Empires, including raw vril, power sources, spells, possibly a vril-casting archetype.
Kobold Press is honored to offer a new and original stretch goal from a co-author on Midgard Campaign Setting and the author of Rasputin Must Die!.

Places of Power (earth nodes, ley line intersections) and Times of Power (solstices and equinoxes, planetary conjunctions, moon phases) might make good sections to add, as well.
I think this'll be covered in the Geomancer material:
$60K: New Spells and metamagic feats for ley-line bending wizards, by Wolfgang Baur and Christina Stiles.
And I believe Christina's done her turnover on this, so it'd be in hand. :D

This is totally awesome! As the unelected chairman of S.E.A.S.(Sunken Empires Appreciation Society) I have been dreaming of this for some time! Brandon, let me know if you need any support with vril magic design. You know I'm at your service!

UrathDM, I am happy to say that Deep Magic will have constellations, conjunctions, and heavenly portents in a section by Paizo designer Stephen Radney-MacFarland.
I am doing a big chunk on ley lines, and Christina Stiles is doing some earth magic and ley spells.
Brandon Hodge is doing some places of power and the spell pools.
This book is covering a lot of great ground. The suggestions are turning into stretch goals rather nicely.

This is the 9th Kickstarter I've backed, and will probably be the first I get any physical returns on. I am so excited for this book! I plan on outfitting the BBE Party that are the villains of my next campaign completely with this book.
I would like to echo the call for earth, air, and water spells that actually use those elements.
Please put in your everyday spells as
well. I really want my characters to be able to prepare only spells that have nothing to do with combat or dungeon delving on a day they spend in town. For example: the wizard in my home game researched a spell called "Birth" that causes the feeling of contractions in a target's pelvis, but conversely, can be cast on a pregnant creature at term to induce labor painlessly.
I can't wait for the gnome spellbooks and the dragon magic. Both are beautiful additions.
A question: how well will this book mesh with playing in Golarion? I'm very much sold on that as my setting of choice right now.
Also, having never seen inside a KP book, how pretty is the layout on a scale of the 3.5 DMG to the PF CRB?

For those interested in exactly what the hubbub over vril is about, I'm re-posting this little blurb from the Rasputin Must Die! thread I wrote in response to an inquiry there:
We first introduced vril to the RPG world in the neutral-IP companion volume to From Shore to Sea: Sunken Empires. The concept of vril first appeared in 1871 in Edward Bulwer-Lytton's novel The Coming Race as an "all-permeating fluid" (kinda Force-like), where it was characterized as a raw psychic-magical, lightning-like energy harnessed by the book's tunnel-dwelling antediluvian civilization that has both destructive and regenerative powers. Some of the race's gifted psychic children were even capable of destroying entire cities in nova-like blasts.
And if this sounds a touch familiar beyond the Force, it is also very likely the inspiration for the Realm's "spellfire."
In Sunken Empires, we expanded on these themes, defining vril as a sort of raw arcane plasma wielded by antediluvian civilization--a more primitive, unrefined form of the magical force wielded by "modern" arcane casters. This raw state has different properties and is less mutable/workable than spells, but makes up for it in brute force. And, it can be stored in different ways than, say, scrolls and wands, and can be stored and replenished in charged "batteries" that can power all manner of Lost Atlantis-type devices, like vril rifles and golem-like constructs.
So what can you expect from Deep Magic? For one, we're going to define the rules and mechanics around raw vril for the first time, having previously focused more on the items that harness the energy. I'm going to introduce some vril-wielding archetypes: modern spellcasters with a talent for tapping into the more primordial side of arcane power, converting spells into raw plasma, sacrificing the specific effects of spells for blast with both damaging and healing capabilities. We'll revisit some of the vril items as well, opening up options for all classes. Lastly, we'll investigate vril pools, which are wells of the primordial substance that any magic-wielding characters can utilize in various ways as an alternative reward for characters that can enhance magic items in ways that sidesteps just handing out another +2 short sword.
I hope that's teaser enough to check out Deep Magic on Kickstarter!

Heh, I'm probably a little biased, but I like to think recent Kobold Press products rank pretty well both artistically and graphically when compared to WOTC or Paizo books :)
The art you see on the Kickstarter page is actually from the book and is very indicative of the quality you will find inside. The TOC page spread (also on the Kickstarter page) will give you a bit of an idea how Deep Magic will be laid out ...

I think Kobold Press found a winning combination with the Midgard Campaign Setting, and the layout of Deep Magic stands to be equal to or better than its older sibling. Check out Paizo's preview here which actually has some sneak peek page spreads so you can check out the layout and quality!

And it's official: the Deep Magic project will include a second book for backers, the Kobold Guide to Magic.
We're also closing in on Brandon's Vril magic stretch goal (and could use a push to get there!).
Finally, we have announced a new goal after that Vril: a variant curse magic system suitable for use by Baba Yaga, witches, inquisitors, whoever is the curse-slinging type in your campaign.

Yep, great question.
Some parts of the book do have their origins in Midgard (we did, after all, start by compiling existing spells from Kobold Press). Most of the Midgard origins are being removed or at least made more generic for Deep Magic, which is meant to work in any fantasy setting, from Golarion to Al-Qadim to Harn.
Fortunately, Midgard materials are always designed to be portable, so that part is working out pretty well. The rune magic works equally well anywhere. The blood magic was not Midgard material, but generic to start with. The Raven magic works as well for tengu as for huginn.
Now, a few of the designers are taking particular Midgard themes into their text (some incantations, etc), but most are not. The current plan is pretty much to restrict Midgard to the sidebars and the Ley Lines chapter. The Ley Lines section is VERY Midgard, but it is also quite small.
The spells, bloodlines, mysteries, familiars, undead creation, metamagic feats, and archetypes are all as universal as the Pathfinder Core Book. They will fit into Golarion without a hitch.

What an excellent suggestion!
Right now, I am holding out for an arch-mage backer, but yes, if the originals turn out as I think they will... I may want to keep one myself. To get a sense of the level of expertise and prior work, I hope to provide a little more information on that calligrapher in the Kickstarter updates next week.
I think these will be something special. The fireball scroll in particular.

Seconded!!!
Now, the burning question is ... what pledge level did Lisa go in for? The $3,500 Archmage tier is still open, so it wasn't that .. :)

oh curses, nice, though it seems this book is following the reign of winter ap too much...
I was a day 1 backer - the content of this tome blew my mind. Magic needs variety and mystery! I can't wait to finish up Baba Yaga's curses. I believe curses should drive plots and stories, have an undercurrent of menace.
I have yet to play the Reign of Winter AP, my group is about to start Skull & Shackles, so RoW was not really a factor in designing this system (though I am happy to be writing something that compliments it - I am sure it was awesome!). The curse system is fully transferable to other locations, entities, and regions. In Midgard, Baba Yaga was the natural fit. In Golarion, I could easily these curses steeped in the traditions of Ustalav, or any of the darker realms.

The Deep Magic Kickstarter has passed the $78,000 pledge goal (Baba Yags's curses!)and is now well on the way toward the $81,000 goal of Time magic and a new Temporal subschool!
If you haven't checked this out yet, What Are You Waiting For? :)
You can also pop over and check out the cover for the exclusive Kickstarter adventure, The Peculiar Alchemist of Alpentor

@Wolfgang: Will us early birds pledgers be able to add the adventure and Kobold's Guide to Magic has add-ons or will we have to switch pledge level?
The plan is to put up the PDF add-ons today. I'll update the project site with a comment or announcement when it happens.
If you are looking for print copies, you'd need to up your pledge level; the print adventure has always been exclusive to the upper tiers.
@littlehewy, the deadline is the 8th for spells submitted to the project. The Bloodline Sorcerers have a little more time, to the 15th.

Oh, excellent! I've a few ideas, but it's tricky trying to find out if a spell/bloodline/etc concept has been done before.
The project is looking freakin' awesome, by the way. You must be happy with the results thus far. I guess it really demonstrates the industry's faith in you and Kobold Press..

There's also a sneak peek of the table of contents as it stands now. It now takes up 2 pages instead of fitting on a single page!
Woah! Feats for incantations and mythic incantations!? Aboleth, Margreve and Mechanical (!) bloodlines? Animation subschool!? Support for te Elven Archer and the White Necro? Amazing!
I do not see blood magic in chapter 1 or the 12 arcane colleges. Those will come later?

Heh, well, if there were no spells and/or support for the White Necromancer, I would have been one very grumpy individual ;)
And, there *better* be blood magic in this thing, 'cause I just received the VERY awesome final half-page illustration for blood magic yesterday ... wish you all could see it! Yes I know, I'm cruel ;)
