Liberty's Edge 5/5

Concealment never has offered a 50% miss chance to area of effect.

You must be referring to the effects of Incorporealness.

Physical damage always does ½ damage, and if it isn’t magical it does none.

Force effects do full damage to incorporeal creatures.

So the mistake must have been that the GM had the Positive Energy damage from channeling do ½ damage.

This is incorrect, as positive energy damage is always full against incorporeal creatures.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

But those are the regular rules for how an incorporeal undead work, as spelled out in the relevant rules books. If they add those two lines, what other "simple two line explanation" are they going to have to add for each and every other possibly mis-understood rule that will be touched on during the course of a scenario's play?

I'm not being snarky, and I apologize if this comes across as such, but sometimes GM's make mistakes and run things incorrectly. I doubt if there's anyone out there that knows every single rule, and can spout it on demand. Mistakes happen. This was one of those times. Next time, the GM will hopefully know better how incorporeal creatures are treated.

Grand Lodge 2/5 RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

Yeah, the 50% miss chance on AoE's is not an errata that the GM understandably missed; it's a non-existent rule that the GM came up with from who knows where.

What needs to happen is not for the scenario to get updated, but for the GM to be made aware of his mistake so he doesn't repeat it.

Liberty's Edge 5/5

The rules for concealment have nothing to do with this situation.

Incorporeal are not concealed.

There is no 50% miss chance for incorporeal. They simply take half damage from physical things. (This is a change from 3.0 and 3.5).

Positive Energy Damage does full damage to incorporeal if they are undead. Non-Undead incorporeal will not take damage from Positive Energy channeling just like any other non-undead (except for Dhampyr) wouldn't.

Silver Crusade 3/5

Eric: There is no need to include those lines in the scenario. The rules for incorporeal opponents is covered in the Bestiary.

The V-C's are not on your side. That was the whole point of the Shadow Lodge.

Basically the Pathfinder Society is either run by a bunch of incompetent idiots or a bunch of insane sadists. Either way it sucks to be a Pathfinder.

He 's taking on the deciemverate.

He keeps artifacts in his bathtub.

He's the sanest man in the society.

He's Grandmaster Torch!
