Hi all,
I´m planning my first PFS character after playing some years in only home games. Due to group/pool composition we have a large lack of a skillmonkey/scout.
I played my first 3 Sessions as Oracle (first nature, now battle).
No that I have the last possibility to switch stats and so on, I´m think about multiclassing to summoner to do something a bit strange: A reversed Summoner.
Instead of the usual Summoner buffs / Eidolon eats stuff, I´m building the eidolon as a scouting skillmonkey supporter and the summoner as the melee fighter.
The eidolon will ride on the summoner, using Aid Another with Adopted:Helpful and UMDing wands and scout ahead.
The summoner will kill stuff with his greataxe (or falchion?).
1 lvl dip of Oracle to get the rereoll ability of dual cursed (which is just awesome with the witch in our group) and maybe cha to AC of the nature mystery (I´m open for suggestions).
So I´m currently planning:
Halforc Summoner 1 / Dual-Cursed Oracle of Nature
Str 18
Dex 10
Con 12
Int 10
Wis 8
Cha 16
Feat: Extra Revelation (what else to take later? Power Attack and more Extra Revelation?)
Revelations: Misfortune, Nature´s Whisper
Traits: Adopted:Helpful (to help the fighter hit really high AC enemies), Open (Suggestions?)
Curses: Tongues(will not improve), Haunted (here I´m absolutly not sure if lame wouldn´t be better?)
Using 2 wands in spring loaded wristsheets (currently planning on shield for def and lead blades for off)
What do you think? Will this idea be useful or just be a dead weight for the group after some lvls?
Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Eidolon as a skillmonkey/scout is a perfectly viable concept, and you seem to be going about it fine. Though I don't believe Eidolons can have Traits, so no Helpful.
However, I'd suggest that rather than going Oracle and using a Falchion, you have your Summoner focus on Summoning. IE keep your Eidolon down and use your Summon Monster SLAs to contribute to the party; summon your Eidolon when you need to do some scouting or skilling. This'll play to your Summoner's strengths much more than laying into enemies with a falchion, I'd say. You should be very effective.
Feats: Spell Focus (Conjuration), Augment Summons, Superior Summons

Using summoning as my main strategy was the thing I wanted to avoid if possible, because I like weird character ideas ;)
And with the feat Additional Traits the Eidolon should be able to pick Helpful. What other trait would be useful?
Another questing: How would you handle the eidolon riding the summoner? Would it need to make ride checks? Or could it simply stay on the summoner due to having a climb speed?

...huh. Additional Traits had never occurred to me. I'll have to think about this. With Helpful you could make an eerily effective Aid Another monkey. As for a second trait, pick something which gets a skill you need as a class skill.
As for riding- I'm not positive it would be able to; the Summoner is bipedal, and the Eidolon is small. Maybe if you bought some kind of backpack or saddle, but I'd think it's too big to fit on your shoulders. And the climb speed would have nothing to do with it.
If you're set on melee fighting, Summoner isn't the worst class. You have 3/4 BAB, light armor proficiency and some buff spells, and additionally Shield Ally. You'll be better than a wizard but worse than any gish or real fighter. I'd strongly suggest getting a Reach weapon and attacking from a distance so you can cast spells and avoid a few attacks. Also keep in mind your 'summon flanking partner' SLAs.

For the Eidolon, I'm fond of the Combat Reflexes and Bodyguard combination. In Harms Way is also nice, but I don't know if I'd go that far down the chain.

Thanks, the trait isn´t bad, maybe I´ll take it.
I decided to change to a pure summoner, because the oracle curses are too much of a bother, even if I love misfortune. Additionally, I would always regret being 1 lvl behind on the eidolons evolutions and spells.
I think I´m also going to change to a more balanced stat array (17,14,14,10,8,14). Or maybe more cha for less str?
I´m kinda undecided what feat(s) to take. Maybe a Skill Focus to get Eldritch Heritage (Serpentine?) at lvl 3?
Alternativly I could go human for Combat Reflexes and Bodyguard right from the start. I would have to use a longspear, but giving +8 to an attacked ally seems like a good thing to do ;D
