upcoming Mythic Adventures hardback (aug 2013) ?!?

So i got a flyer in the box today when my AMAZING Dark Waters Rising (comics 1-6 plus 60 amazing pages of scenarios, ssandpoint info and maps, npcs, etc) arrived.

Its advertising a aug 2013 product called Mythic Adventures. If there is a thread already discussing preview or playest copies, please help a player out =D

Anyways, I would normally not post in the PFS forums about an upcoming product, except this ones tag line is "mythic adventures lets you play a hero that is a cut above the ordinary sellsword, more powerful than your average hedge wizard, and able to take on challenges far beyond those of your ordinary contemporaries."

All i read was "Absolutely nothing in this book will be PFS legal"

I just got Champions of Purity - its like 99.9 pct legal except for two tiny items, and its an amazing product. i was under the assumption that most/all of these products i will receive as a subscriber would be of use to PFS folks - frankly i thought paizo was heading in a direction like champ of purity where it is all PFS legal out of the box!

Do we have any intel on whether this will be a total paperweight for sanctioned play?

For the future, how do i scope out playtests or preview copies, discussions on what will or will not be sanctioned, etc.

I dont want to subscribe to product lines that are consistently unplayable in PFS.

Mythic Adventures is here and will release at GenCon 2013 (a.k.a. this August). Whether or not material will be PFS legal is up to the Decemvirate...I mean Campaign Coordinator.

I have heard rumor that content from this book might be making an appearance in PFS. Acquiring mythic tiers requires fighting mythic monsters or accomplishing other epic deeds. They could easily control access to mythic tiers by making very few scenarios/sanctioned modules that increase your mythic tier so that you don't become too ridiculously overpowered.

All I have heard is that they are toying with introducing mythic content into PFS but absolutely nothing is set in stone. It will be interesting to see what comes of it.

Mostly speculation among friends and people I meet at various tables. It is part of the Pathfinder RPG product line just like APG, Ultimate Magic, Ultimate Equipment, etc, so it would make sense if it parts of it were to become legal. The playtest is over but the pdf is still available for download if you haven't read it yet ;)

Man, between the crazy season 4 powergamer boons I've already come close to swearing off PFS, just so unnecessary. And now they talk about reducing gold for playing up (but it doesn't work both ways) but they give away feats and ability score bonuses??? I don't know how this ius good for business, and I suspect you'll scare away new players who's buddy doesn't want to play down with their new friend and loose gold, so he never palys again. Sorry total derail!

From what I've seen of Mythic(playtest only, so maybe its not so bad, but doubtful), if they bring that to PFS, that will likely be the straw that ends PFS for me.

I suspect that not much, if any, of the book will be sanctioned, but I could see a scenario where you gain a mythic tier, and then lose it at the end of the scenario.

That's all conjecture on the OPs part, actually. The ony rumors he alluded to were "that content from this book might be making an appearance in PFS." Which came from you, assuming we accept the correlation between "maybe" and "might be."

We may not use parts of the Mythic Hardcover when it becomes available. Once the book is on my desk, and I have a chance to look at the final product, I can provide a better answer. Until such a time, everything is conjecture as nothing has been decided. Does that clear it up?

I'm 99% sure that PCs getting permanent Mythic tiers won't happen. Unless it was a retirement arc, it would completely change the framework of the game, they would need to retire or rewrite all the old scenarios to account for mythic tiers, and change the way new scenarios are written.
