Question concerning "Pathfinder Adventure Path: Shattered Star Player's Guide (PFRPG)"

Is this guide part of PFS official sanctioned rules? Hero lab is now listing the changed traits, etc. as part of PFS official, but it is not on the list of sanctioned stuff on this site. It is on the free download list from Paizo. Not sure if I should be allowing the use of these traits or not.

The players guide does not appear on the Additional Resources page so it is not legal for PFS use.

Oh, crap, the "of the society" traits aren't legal?

Well ... hm. Okay, got some stuff to fix.

There are some 'X of the Society' traits in the Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Faction Guide book that are legal, assuming you have that resource at the table.

So, if the same "of the society" trait is printed in both the Faction Guide and the Shattered Star Player's Guide, we have to use the Faction Guide one even though it's been updated?

You sure? I thought we were always supposed to use the most current version of an item/rule/etc., no matter the source.

Which gives rise to the "What if I don't own it?" threads....

You use the version that's identified in Additional Resources; in the majority of cases, that's the version printed most recently.

In this case, the Faction Guide is still available in print or PDF...
