How to delete unused / unwanted aliases?

Website Feedback

As the subject line says, how do I delete unwanted aliases? I hate cluttering up the namespace with characters that I created for PbP games that didn't get picked, and it seems only a courtesy to clean up after myself.

Once you've made a post with an alias, it can't be deleted. If an alias has less than 10 posts, it can be renamed and "recycled" into another character. After 10 posts, you're stuck with the name, although you can still change the picture and information in the profile.

I'd suggest creating a profile with the relevant stats/background and linking to it using your primary alias rather than posting under a new alias in a recruitment thread. That way, if you're not selected, you don't have the alias around forever.

The prospective GM specifically requested that I make a new alias and post the the proposed character under that alias.

Other game masters have made similar requests.

Well, the GMs don't have to deal with the unwanted aliases afterwards. Many of them may not be aware that aliases are not deletable. Quite frankly, if I explained to a GM why I didn't want to create a new alias without the assurance of being selected and he didn't care, I wouldn't apply to the game.

Anyway, if you choose to create an alias and post under it, it can't be deleted.
