"The Batter" character idea

So I am trying to make a character called the batter, from the game off, but I am not sure how to make the add-ons.

The add on basically extra attacks but float around and follow batter.

I was thinking dancing weapons but that only last 4 rounds and what not but I am not sure to call them cohorts either.

After some googling:

There's this super obscure game made in RPG Maker called OFF. The game is supposedly in French, hence the relative obscurity. The main character is called The Batter.

I'm going to assume that The Batter is a superhero with a chef theme, as he pummels criminals with various kitchen implements into batter. For such a build, you're going to want the throw anything feat and to max out the Craft: Food skill.


throw anything is for ranged, catch off-guard is for melee.


Paladin with a greatclub (baseball bat). Smite all the impure souls!

The add-ons are the rest of the party. He simply can't see them as anything but hovering circles because he's insane.

Yeah the batter is a guy who goes around on a sacred mission to "purify" the world.

and the add-ons are kinda like extra life extra attack rings the float around him.

at the end of the game he is less of a good guy and is probably the bad guy.


Does he use a bat? Why is he called 'The Batter'?

Ok. Is he like a hitman? Does he use guns? Who is he? What kind of world does he live in?


So, I don't think anyone but you have any idea whatsoever what this character is like in any way, so you really need to give a lot more explanation about him and his abilities, not just a few vague sentences.


I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone so I'll sum up the premise.

The Batter is the foe of corrupt spirits, directed by the player to fulfil his sacred quest of purifying the world. He does this by hitting them with a baseball bat. His enemies are mostly ghosts, undead monstrosities and bizarre, twisted humanoids. The world itself is utterly surreal. Its four primary elements are smoke, metal, meat and plastic (the magic system involves strengths and vulnerabilities to these elements).

He eventually picks up powers that heal himself and allies, as well as hitting enemies with more powerful strikes.

Later in the game, he is joined by the 'Add Ons', hovering circles that act like extra party members to supplement this party of one. They have various supporting powers and have their own combat actions independent from the Batter.

Oath against undead paladin gets to be pretty spectacular against incorporeal undead. Maybe that would fit.

I don't really care much for the batter. I was more or less wanting ideas on how i could make the add-ons

which are basically either something like cohorts or floating weapons or something.

then maybe the batter but i was more trying to figure out the add-ons.

the floating rings that are his other attacks he gains through out the game/like companions. They are apparently slightly intelligent

maybe animated objects or constructs?

i do like the insane paladin idea for him
