Hello,
The homebrew is currently on hold as Gm has been busy but, I would like to have my character ready for when the game starts up again.
The gm has so far made the campaign about killing undead types. Not knowing this at the start I built my character poorly and then made a bad choice. This caused him to die. So using the information I have know about the campaign I am aiming for an Oracle(Of Life). That said when the game "started" the main boss of the city we were in gave us each a Cohort.
I am not a fan of my current Cohort and plan to peacefully let him go when we get back to town, picking up a new one in his place. That said I would love for the Cohort and my new character to have a good history together.
So here is were I need help, the campaign is based on the D&D forgotten realm deities. I know next to nothing about any of the D&D deities or any D&D history past about two years ago. (When I started playing D&D and pathfinder.) So building a backstory to "make" my character care to be there is rather hard.
Things that may be important:
current party is:
2 Paladins
1 Wizard
1 Rogue
1 monk
1 pending Oracle
9th level
36 points
2 traits
no gold
max hp every level
Oracle of life (duel cursed)
cursed with:
Deaf (This is my non progressing curse. I have asked the GM to let me replace the word Deaf with mute but, he hasn't replied yet.)
and Haunted.
I hope to have a deity to worship but, not be required to for spell reasons.
For the Cohort I don't have anything set in stone but, I'm leaning twords a monster as pc type like a Succubus\Paladin, Medusa\Ranger or, Naga, Guardian\(insert class here).
This is because, the gm would like us to provide him with three goals for our character to achieve in life. So I thought It would be easier to tie one in with my backstory and goals.
The only thing I would rather not change is my character being an Oracle(Aasimar). The rest I'm flexible on.
Thank you in advance for any input you can offer me. ^.^

request list:
Help with creating a background.
Help making a "monster" like a Naga, succubus, or medusa reasonable in the Cohort position.
Help with making the Cohort a solid part of who my character is. (Like Pepper Pots is to Tony Stark.)
Help with a future goal to solidify the need to keep the Cohort around and help the Cohort.
Help with what deity or deity's who would send there worshipers to fight undead.
I think that sums up what I'm looking for.

You adventured in the serpent kingdoms for a while, and saved a minor noble (nagagi, naga, or medusa) from being slain during a coup. He is traveling with you because he owes you a life debt and you had a vision that he will be a key player in the future.
Kelemvor is the new LN god of death who sees undead as an abomination who keeps the souls of the slain from seeking their peaceful rest in the after life.
Lathander is a lot like Sarenrae, good, all about the dawn, and hates undead
Torm, Tyr, and Ilmater form a triad I call the super paladin club let me know if you are interested and I will tell you more. Ilmater is best choice for an oracle of the three.
Mask is the god of thieves... Idk, all rogues hate undead...
Finder Wyvernspur is a hippie bard Demi- deity who focuses on the cycle of life and this is pretty anti- undead.
Jergal is the god of proper death and burial. He would probly be pretty crusadey.
Those are your best bets for anti-undead deities.

Lathander, Sune, Selune and, Lliira seem to pop out at me.
So far we have been in combat with Skeletons, Skeletal Champions, Wraiths, Spectres, Vampires, a ghoul and, Shadows(how my first character died. RIP ninja/shadowdancer).
The legendary Chaotic Good Drow, who's name escapes me, has made a showing too. (Though the group both in character and out made it clear we felt he would over shadow us and we didn't want that.)
Not sure if that helps to point out a possible list of deity/deitys the group may be up against. (The gm's only reply to what deitys will he be using was. "All of them")
Could it be Graz'zt? or someone else.

The forefather of all drow who turn their back on the evil ways of their kin, and take on the mantle of light is... Drizzt. Drizzt Do'Urden. (pretty close except for that first letter).
I'm glad pathfinder brought the Drow to Golarion. But I miss Lloth. (Evil Spider Goddess of the Drow). There was a goddess you loved to hate. Maybe you guys will have a chance to go up against her someday.
But yeah, for most groups Drizzt would be too overpowering a friend.

Yea... The GM set up a three stage fight but, us players kinda shot the last third down when we found a big stock pile of loot.
That left Drizzt to fight what ever the thing was the GM had him fighting alone (Holding it off for us to get there and help.)
I have ever only known Drow as dark-elfs(literally) until I was introduced to D&D and Pathfinder. That was about two years ago.
My Oracle is built like a one trick pony so to speak. Heavy focus on healing and little care for other such spells I may have. This works as a weapon so far too because, healing hurts undead.
Cohort Ideas:
#1: You adventured in the serpent kingdoms for a while, and saved a minor noble naga from being slain during a coup.
She is traveling with you because she know owes you a life debt. (I like that!) - Byrdology
Naga's seem to be built to be caster types?
#2: At a young age Thoven found (Cohort) half dead in a dark ally. Normally he would have avoided such a sight but, this day unseen forces pulled at his heart.
So he brought (Cohort) back to an inn he could barely afford and did all in his power to keep her alive.
It was during this time that the (deity) convinced (Cohort) to help Thoven grow in exchange for redemption of some sort?
On Thovens end the accomplishment of redeeming her would certainly advance him in his deity's Order?
Thinking half-succubus, succubus/assassin. (Basing her off one of my favorite video games Starcraft. Sarah Kerrigan)
(I think I may try to take the leader ship feat so I can have both. XD)
A heavy connecting factor is wanting my character to be mute. However, I need some way to speak with the group.
So because both the succubus and the naga have the detect thoughts spell they would be able to convey his thoughts as their own, when they feel like it.
I would also play this off as them just having "that close" of a almost creepy bond with Thoven at times.
