Futurama is cancelled...again.

Sadly it's not being renewed by Comedy Central.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a movie later like the FIRST time it was cancelled, but still sad to see the half hour episodes go away.

I didn't know it was still going. I used to watch it all the time on Adult Swim. Comedy Central is like the toilet bowl of television for me. Were the new episodes as good as the originals?

I would say yes. The series didn't suffer from its long hiatus from weekly 1/2 hour shows (the movies were bloody brilliant imo) and season 7 had some great eps. Ill bet anything we see more movies from this as the fans clamor for more. Personally I'd like to see 10 seasons of Futurama and a final close to the story of Philip J. Fry.

Why don't they just assume an every-two-seasons cancellation and build that into the storylines?

I predict this will be picked up by Amazon as a semi-original series one pays for by the episode. I'd pay for additional Firefly episodes online (streaming) too, though, so...
