ride: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Bruno leisurely mounts and directs Esmeralda a step to the right, just as he has done almost every fight. He grins at the repetition of it all and points the business end of his lance at the little Goblin. Have at Ye!
Warlords of Choon |
Round 1
Bruno growls. He stows his lance and draws his Heavy Pick. He doesn't move Esmeralda. They can do nothing but wait for the disappearing goblin to make his move, a terrible circumstance to be in.
Double move to swap weapons.

Bruno spurrs Esmeralda forward, weapons at the ready, trying to catch a glimpse of his foe.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but you are staggered after using Roll with It and thus cannot move and attack (or charge). Unless you have something to negate that. Just want to be sure you're not immune to me.
Esmeralda's pointed camel teeth snap at the little nusance as he flies away.

If you are able to take only a standard action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed) and you cannot draw a weapon unless you possess the Quick Draw feat. You can't use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action on your turn.

ahh, I thought that was restricted to the Suprise round. Good on ya then. :)

Rawr! He's a monster~
Warlords of Choon |
Oh holy crap!
Bruno doesn't have time to yelp before his lifeless corpse tumbles to the ground
And Esmeralda only hits an AC higher than 25 on a nat 20, so I'm gonna say you win here. That is nuts. Bravo on the crazy build with a crazy goblin.
There go my dreams of lvl 4. Here's hoping I get lucky twice in a row.
Warlords of Choon |
Bruno appears wary as he enters. His recent loss has put him in the exact position he was when he last met this kamakazie fighter. He enters with his customary lance in hand.
Init:18 Let's see what happens when init is reversed. :)
Champion of mbauers |
Indeed, hehe. Good luck!
Round 0
Arian steps forward, flicking his wrist. A small vial appears in his hand and he chugs it, smashing the contents on the ground as he grows to monstrous size.
Ok, so I'm 5ft stepping to B11, swift action drawing vial from wrist sheath, standard action drinking it to enlarge to take up spaces B/C 10/11. I began the match holding my weapon in hand. It's a two-handed weapon, but what I want to do is switch it to one hand, drink the potion, then free action switch it back to two hands. Am I allowed to do that? For example, I know you can't wield a spear in one hand, but can you hold onto it in one hand to use your other hand before switching back to a two-handed grip? A spear seems yes, but my goofy weapon is a bit more iffy. If I can, cool, I'm holding my weapon still. If I can't, I'll drop it in B11. Either way, your turn!
Warlords of Choon |
Thats legal as far as I know.
Swift action challenge
:: round 0::
Bruno swiftly mounts and salutes his foe with a resounding Have at ye!... Again! Then, remembering his last fight with this odd warrior, moves Esmeralda behind the eastern pillar.
Free Mount (if I pass the check, move if not and it doesn't really matter.
Move to A-B/13-14.
Your turn
Champion of mbauers |
Ok, well, in that case I should get an AoO when you move to that spot since I have 20 foot reach. Here goes...
Round 1
Arian swings his rope weapon speedily, sending the iron disc over the point of Bruno's lance and wrenching it from his grasp as he maneuvers around the pillar. He then backs up out of the dwarf's reach and lets out a yell, attacking again, this time sending the circlet whirling at his foe's face.
AoO is a disarm attempt, hits 21 vs your CMD to drop your lance. Then 5ft move to A/B 9/10, rage, and attack you for damage from 15 ft away. Attack hits a 25 AC for 15 damage.
Warlords of Choon |
Oh wow. That's what I get for not paying attention to which side of the arena I'm on. Crap. I'm not even sure I can move that far.
*check*
No, I can't move that far with one move action. My bad. I apologize.
Bruno's correct position is J-K/7-8
Champion of mbauers |
In that case I'll move to E/F 7/8 and keep the same move, hitting 25 for 15 damage. If you move through my threatened area with the lance out I'll disarm attempt with my Aoo. Do I keep the same roll I had? If so it'll be a 23 since I'm raging now. I don't know if I'm supposed to reroll in this instance, as I can see arguments for both sides. I'll wait to see what you think and/or what the arbiter thinks if needed. Back to you for round 1!
Warlords of Choon |
I won't make you re-roll. Let's just go with it.
Bruno HP: 15/27
Attack+charge: 1d20 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 9 + 4 = 22
damage: 2d8 + 20 ⇒ (5, 3) + 20 = 28
ride: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
E attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Edamage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
The odd ring speeds toward Bruno from an impossible distance. He is unable to get his shield up in time. It tears a gaping hole in the chain mail at his shoulder. Bruno grunts in pain, but holds fast and puts his heels to Esmeralda. With a great cry of fury, Bruno and Esmeralda the Death Camel descend on their foe. Bruno's lance tip impacts first, bringing the weight of both to bear, followed almost immediately by Esmeralda's razor sharp camel-teeth.
Charge to G-H/7-8
Attack:22
Damage:28
E Attack:12
E Damage:7
Champion of mbauers |
Actually, it's cool. The attack was nonexistent if you didn't move through my threatened squares and I don't want to take advantage of your niceness, especially since you chose to still charge thinking you'd be disarmed anyway. I'll roll again and hope I succeed. Also, would you have to stop at H/I 7/8 to use the reach of your lance? Or does Bruno attack from 10 ft away and then Esmeralda continues the charge and attacks from adjacency? I'll assume the latter.
Round 2
Arian throws the iron ring over the tip of Bruno's lance, yanking it aside at the last moment and tangling up his shield arm.
The huge brawler backs up and tosses aside his weapon and crouches low, roaring and smiling with sadistic glee as he punches the hapless dwarf. Not so tough without your weapons, huh dwarf? He rakes at Bruno's eyes with an open palm, trying to tear his flesh.
So, my AoO disarm was a 30 vs your charging CMD. If that beats you by more than 10 I can make you drop two things, which I would choose your lance and shield. I looked up the info about it and it's kind of up in the air, so if it matters we can get a ruling on if a shield can be dropped (it's definitely "held", but also strapped to your arm so hard to say). Regardless, I then 5 ft move back and punch Bruno twice. The first is nonlethal with a 23 vs your charging AC (and possibly no shield allowed). If that hits you take 14 nonlethal and my intimidate check is a 31 to demoralize you. Yeesh. The second attack hits a 27 AC for 7 lethal damage. If the first attack missed, the second attack is nonlethal and the demoralize check then fails. If both attacks hit, at the start of your turn you take 8 bleed damage.
Champion of mbauers |
Ok, I think what you're thinking of is ride by attack. I just read it and when you use ride by attack you don't provoke. That must be what you're thinking of, because I know that a regular charge provokes if you move through a threatened area. Nah, my turn is the same whether you're disarmed or not. When you're next to me i can't use the reach weapon, so I'll still double attack/ demoralize/bleed
Elik the Magnificent |
Yay Sleepy Pete!
Elik stumbles his way in, looking lost again, before starting to pull down his trousers and relieve himself. Thankfully before a full moon rises, he realizes he is in the arena and swiftly pulls his pants up and waves to the crowd through his three remaining teeth.
